Here are a few examples of how these theories can relate to products that are being advertised today. My deconstruction on "The girl who didn't dress bright in the dark" can relate to the Hypodermic needle theory. This is based on the words in the advert that say "She always tried to look her best" also "Now she isn't so trendy" when she gets hit by the car. This is hinting that girls like to look their best everyday e.g. Perfect hair/clothes/ect. Since this advert is more or less aimed at children mostly girls, it is quite impressionable in an odd way since it might make them think "If I want to look nice/pretty ect. I need to safetycross roads and be careful" This is quite a nice way of putting a message and I think it works well.  

Uses and gratification theory can be seen in most educational/social action adverts since it's usually about something important e.g. Road safety, like the one I did on "It's 30 for a reason" This can also be a two step flow theory based on the fact if someone sees the advert on TV, then sees their e.g. mum driving at a speed above 30 the person may say something about the advert, show them, which may change the person's habits having been told and shown the media. Uses and gratification on these kind of adverts is generally for knowledge. Since if you see the facts in the "It's 30 for a reason advert" you may go and look up more about it. E.g. How many deaths are caused by this kind of thing a year? It's about them finding out the media they are searching for. 

My conclusion is that you can find many examples of these audience reception theories, I understand them well and find them intresting myself I will consider using some when I do the social action project.
