Its a short story that involves Mr. and Mrs, white and the son Herbert a friend of there's introduces them to something called the monkeys paw a fakir placed a spell on it so u could grant 3 wishes but each wish u make will have consequences a man name Morris warns Mr. white if he use the paw he might as well be digging his grave.

Herbert white: the son of Mr. and Mrs. white he works in a company called maws and Meggins
Mrs.white:Herbert’s mother and Mr. White’s wife. Mrs. White She shares her husband’s and son’s fascination with Sergeant-Major Morris’s stories and questions him just as eagerly as they do
Mr.white: Herbert’s father and Mrs. White’s husband. Mr. White is . A poor man, he thinks longingly about the exotic lands he has never visited. The monkey’s paw fascinates him in part because of its connection to those lands.
sergeant-Major Morris: A friend of the Whites. A mysterious and possibly sinister figure, Sergeant-Major Morris enjoys talking about his adventures abroad and shows the Whites his monkey’s paw,
The representative:The man who informs Mr. and Mrs. White of Herbert’s death.

why i chose this story

i chose this story because is an scary and also interesting  to me .. i like scary things and i like story that have a lesson in it some people can learn from this they wish for bad things to happen to people and what they don't know is instead of it happening to that person it can happen to someone u love or YOU!! my opinion on the story is that Mr.white really was desperate  and i understand but he should have listened to major Morris and left it alone it was really stupid of him but i don't think anything bad should have happen i understand it suppose to be like a learn your lesson story but he didn't wish for anything bad he just wanted peace THAT'S ALL!.

Mr. white 3 wishes and consequences

  Mr. white first :the 1st wish was just a joke but he wishes for 200 pounds then Herbert dies by accident at work and he receives the 200 pounds

2nd wish: Mrs. white made this wish.it was for Herbert to come back from the dead all a sudden he heard a knock at the door he decided that he didn't want to see he dead son so he quickly made his 3rd wish

3rd wish: they don't tell us what was the last wish but i think Mr white last wish was for his son just remain in peace dead because when Mrs. white opened the door no one was there Mrs. white was so upset  she fell on the floor and started crying and all Mr.white could do now was comfort her.
