A purpose

A strategy that i often use when i need to be more resilient is thinking about why i am doing that thing, or why do i want to reach that point. Thinking about the purpose gives me the motivation and the strength to move forward and keep going, even when things get hard. For example during exam time, if i have many assignments to do , or exams, and times get more stressful, it can be easy to lose motivation and wanting to give up. However, if i think why i am doing it: "I need to push through because I want do get a good grade, to be proud of my work and to reflect the hard work i put in" then i get my motivation and i can cope during this time.

A coping strategy i often use and that i found very helpful is meditation. I think meditation in general should a lifestyle/hobby that people have/do. It really changes your way of looking at things and make you be more concentrated on the things that really matter, without wasting on energy on irrelevant things. This way i found it really helped me cope during difficult times, to find peace within my self, even when everything else around me was chaos. Therefore i think it is a coping mechanism very efficient and powerful and that can really help people.

If I am feeling overwhelmed I will try to take time our from whatever is causing the stress (essay / study etc.) and spend time with my pets. Quality time with pets helps me take a step back and regain my calm. Its also really important to use that time to evaluate workload and consider if there is anything less urgent that can be dropped or delayed to give me some breathing space. Combined with ensuring I don't take too much on helps me maintain work-life balance.
