I was raised to treat others kindly, following the golden rule of treating them as I'd want to be treated. This principle guides me in trying to be respectful and caring to everyone, everyday. Growing up, I learned the importance of being polite and considerate in my interactions with others, which helps me maintain healthy relationships. This belief not only shapes how I treat others, but also instills a sense of integrity within myself. Despite doubts about my faith and struggles with understanding Christianity, I find comfort in passages like Matthew 10:22, which remind me that faith requires endurance. Through these challenges, I've discovered that faith goes beyond mere belief; it's about finding purpose and meaning in life through a higher power. Holding onto my faith has been a source of strength during tough times, giving me hope for a future that feels guided and meaningful.

Through my service work, I have been tasked with helping individuals struggling with various life challenges. Initially, I found it difficult to socialize with these communities, often judging them for their past decisions. Growing up, I was taught to avoid people with a history of substance abuse, which led me to distance myself from them until I could be sure they posed no health risk to me.

However, over time, I have come to understand the reasons behind their decisions, which has helped me develop a deeper sense of empathy and compassion for these individuals. This journey has been transformative, aligning with the belief that we are called to love everyone. Through my service, I have embraced this principle more fully, realizing the importance of offering support and kindness to all members of the community.

The passages from Isaiah 58, Luke 4:16-21, Matthew 25:34-36, and Mark 10:17-27 show that God wants us to serve others, especially the poor and oppressed, as a key part of our faith. They teach that true worship and following Jesus involve real acts of justice, kindness, and giving. This aligns with the idea that we should focus on helping those in need and fighting against social injustices, showing God's love through our actions. These scriptures remind us that serving others is not just optional but a crucial part of living out our faith.
