Literacy Lessons Designed for Individuals by Marie Clay. This is the Reading Recovery "BIBLE" with the BEST theory and procedures for early literacy!! We (the reading team) are going to be using our Tuesday morning meetings to re-look, restudy, and review the book! There is always something new to learn!

Just finishing this up with my class. I bet I've read it fifteen times and it's still one of my favorites. It's very different from other Roald Dahl books since it is realistic fiction. The students fall in love with the characters and we are able to have good discussions about the ethical issues in the book.

“Girl, Wash Your Face” by: Rachel Hollis. Fun and entertaining self-empowerment read. She discusses all the “lies” we tell ourselves and how to get past negative self talk.

I'm always looking for new historical fiction. This one is pretty intense so far! I'm also reading The Selection series (The Heir), which is my literary junk food. (It's kind of like when Rachel on Friends claims her favorite movie is Dangerous Liaisons but her real favorite is Weekend at Bernie's.)

Colson Whitehead, "The Underground Railroad" This book came highly recommended. Sometimes difficult to read, the graphic recollections and experiences of the characters leave me wanting more and more confirmation that their escape be final and freedom imminent.

I just finished Still Me, the final book in the Me Before You trilogy. Now I need to read book 2! It was a great beach read over spring break and recommend it if you would like to escape into a good book!

I am reading Harbor Me. After hearing Jacqueline Woodson speak of the six students who are sent to the ARTT (A Room To Talk) as a form of intervention, I had to pick it up. Her voice is captivating.
