Many famous players are from Argentina such as Lionel Messi, Julian Alvarez, Emi Martinez, Angel Di Maria, and so many more. Argentinas most famous location is Buenos Aires, the capital city, is known for its iconic buildings and attractions.

A holiday that takes place in Argentina is Shrove Monday. On this holiday Catholics celebrate the Monday before Ash Wednesday every year. In this holiday people celebrate with carnivals and feasts. After this holiday is Shrove Tuesday in which its the day before Ash Wednesday where people practice confession and finalize what they are giving up for lent. It's celebrated with lots of pancakes and other sweets. One last holiday celebrated is Maundy Thursday where Christians remember/celebrate the last supper Jesus shared with his apostles. People would wash each other's feet to show their love and respect for one another like Jesus would do for his followers. All of these holidays are practiced in Argentina because it is mostly a catholic and Christian country.

A common tradition that most Argentines partake in is drinking and sharing mate. Mate or otherwise known as yerba mate is an energizing and refreshing tea made from the south American plant yerba mate, to make the drink the leaves are harvested and dried then used as you would any other herbs in tea. The drink consists of mateine, a type of caffeine, that gives it an energizing kick. A more common and more big tradition is being involved is futbol or soccer. Soccer is widely practiced and watched throughout the country and makes up a big part of the culture. The Argentina national team is very good and has won multiple titles in the last few years. Many Argentines watch soccer as a tradition and feast by eating traditional food and drinks like mate, alfajor, Locro, and asada.

Argentinas holidays are very similar yet different to what we celebrate in America. Like in Argentina they celebrate independence just like we do, however they celebrate there's differently with different foods and national traditions. Here in the U.S., we celebrate the 4th of July, and we eat hotdogs and hamburgers and shoot fireworks to celebrate our independence from Great Britain. In Argentina they also celebrate independence with food and fireworks just in different ways. Here in the U.S., some celebrate Hannukah, and some celebrate Christmas. In Argentina it says that they celebrate Christmas as the country is catholic. In conclusion Argentina holidays are very similar to holidays in America because America is very diverse and celebrates lots of different cultures and religions. The are mostly alike because a majority of America is catholic just like how majority of Argentina is catholic.
