Electrolysis is a song from Penny Parker's (or SnapCube's) DeReconstruct EP.

The EP is about her journey of growth, self-discovery and acceptance. The second track, Electrolysis, tackles her how she faced her struggles with gender identity and transitioning over the years.

I recommend it because it's catchy as hell, and honestly, the message of perservering because you know it'll pay off someday is incredibly powerful to me.
Here's a few lines from the song that hits very hard while she sings it as an example:

Here Today is a 4-song EP by Coeli that I used to listen to a lot at the beginning of the pandemic. She's a 27-year-old Filipina singer-songwriter. The usual laid back instrumentals and focus on the vocals feels like a hug after a long tiring day. My favorite song is probably "Magkaibigan o Magka-ibigan" for its beautiful harmonies and fun melody, though I love all the songs.

Good News is the lead single in Mac Miller's 6th album, Circles (2020), which I keep going back to. As you may know, Mac Miller tragically passed away in 2018 as he was making the album. The album is about Mac’s mental state during the time and the tough things he was going through like his breakup with Ariana Grande and his battle with drugs. Through the peaceful, relaxed instrumentation and Mac Miller’s singing, the song illustrates what was going through his head when he was facing death or the situation he was in. He seems to be content with the impact he has left on others and what he has accomplished. He doesn’t care about how the song will sound as in the song, he “spent the whole day in my head” and laments being “too busy dreaming”. He also thinks about what’s on the other side and there are still many things waiting for him.

For me, this song is not just a way to unwind, relax, and think about better days, it is also a reminder of what Mac Miller has done in the industry and the incredible person he really was.

Before 9th grade started, I got into reading YA (young adult) fantasy books. During that two-month-ish break, I've read about 13 books, most of them belonging to duologies and trilogies. Ruin and Rising is the third book of the Shadow and Bone trilogy by Leigh Bardugo. I loved Ruin and Rising because it has the right mix of romance, is very action-packed, and was fun to read; I also have a massive crush on one of the main characters. It is also a part of a collection of books called the Grishaverse, made up of the Shadow and Bone Trilogy, Six of Crows Duology, and the King of Scars Duology. The Grishaverse has everything that you would wish for in a fantasy book, from warring countries, mystical creatures, people with magical abilities, lovable characters, and unexpected plot twists. If you would like to start reading the Grishaverse, this is my recommended order :))

Fruits Basket is my absolute favorite anime and I'm so happy I get to share it with everyone ! ૮⸝⸝> ̫ <⸝⸝ ა

It shares the story of Tohru Honda, a young girl who despite being orphaned and encountered many obstacles in life, is extremely kind-hearted, cheerful, and compassionate. Tohru gets involved with the Sohma family, in which 12 members are possessed by the animals of the Chinese zodiac. She learns of the pain and hardships the afflicted members of the Sohma family faced because of the curse, and through her generous and loving nature, helps them heal their emotional wounds.

This anime holds a special place in my heart. It has themes such as forgiveness, trauma, imposter syndrome, and healing but is light-hearted, funny, and enjoyable at the same time ! ଘ(੭˃ᴗ˂)੭ It has made me laugh, cry and gave me comfort in my bad days.

Tohru, the main character is my role model and inspiration ! (ෆ˙ᵕ˙ෆ)♡ I relate to a lot of her issues and I always strive to be as kind, caring, and optimistic as her. I learned to see happiness in everything, appreciate, and make the best of what life has thrown at me. I hope this show leaves an impact to you as much as it did to me !

This would seem very childish to some but come on, we all have an inner child within us. And personally for me, i adore this series. It's cute and i loved the stop motion animation. And it makes me happy!

So the story revolves around Kaoru who lives in an apartment in Japan. She lives the usual boring young adult life until she adopts a bird named Kiiroitori who ends up bringing in two more bears, Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma who ends up living and helping her around the apartment.

You can watch it on Netflix! you obviously don't have to watch it but if you want to then go ahead (lol)

The story follows Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins), a successful banker who is wrongfully convicted of murdering his wife & her illicit lover and is ultimately sentenced to two consecutive life terms in prison where his coping with the brutal hardships of confined life slowly earns him the respect of his fellow inmates & prison staff, including that of "Red" (Morgan Freeman) in whom Andy finds a trusted ally. The remainder of the film explores their friendship over the next two decades.

Shawshank Redemption stresses that based on the outlook of life, there are only two types of people: one who can be free even in prison while others who find themselves imprisoned even in freedom. The message it is trying to resonate is clear: Fear can hold you prisoner, Hope can set you free. And if we all give ourselves some hope, there is nothing we can’t survive. Yes, it all seems cheesy and everything, but then if there's ever been a movie that has earned this sort of right, it’s this movie. Add to that, the mesmerizing narration of Morgan Freeman LOL.

Whenever I finish an anime, I would always take breaks before I start a new one in order for the ending of the previous anime I watched to finally sink into me. (I have trouble moving on from the things I read, or watch because I feel desperate for a sequel or prequel). But I grew bored and decided to watch Saiki K because that friend of mine said "It's an anime I can watch over and over again and never get bored of it.".

Saiki K is a psychic who has supernatural powers and has these devices on his head to control his powers and as well as his green glasses; his powers cannot function properly without them. Saiki just wants to live a normal high school life and stay away from attention in the neatest way possible. But he ends up in disastrous situations that ruin his plans and gains many friends. He would often fix every situation for them, he used to dislike putting his nose in other people's business but soon after he started realizing that his friends actually care for him so he starts caring for them back.

I love this anime TV show so much because not only is it fun to watch, it would often make me laugh too. Every episode is a different story and it's so random too, but the story goes on.

Qui Tong and Sun Jing met and fell in love in Tamen De Gushi, a hilarious romantic girl love story. This manhwa is still being written, there are currently 211 chapters.

This story is very funny and most of us high schoolers might relate to it, since the setting is high school life. The characters in the story are unique and have really interesting backgrounds. I just started reading manhwas this year and it is very different from mangas, manhwas are comics made in Korea while mangas are comics made in Japan. Tamen De Gushi really made me feel the vibes of a fun highschool life, the pranks and the bonding we used to have before covid erupted. It really cheers me up remembering those fun times and I hope it cheers your day too. :)

Haikyu!! is a sports anime series based on the manga of the same name written and illustrated by Haruichi Furudate. It follows the story of Hinata Shoyo, who has a burning passion for volleyball. He is determined to become the next "Little Giant", or in other words, an amazing volleyball player despite his small stature.

Although I am not a big fan of sports in real life, I absolutely loved this anime and it remains my favorite to this day. The animation and flow of the scenes is amazing and makes you truly feel the intensity of the games. However, this anime is not only action-packed all of the time. There are more chill episodes wherein the characters are training or simply being their lovable selves.

I feel very connected to the characters. We watch them go through both happy and sad times. We watch them mature and improve both in their volleyball skills and as people. They are very relatable and entertaining (and not to mention, good-looking :> ). Their dynamics with each other are hilarious and adorable as well.

There are many valuable lessons that I learned from this anime. One is that nobody is perfect. There are multiple characters in the show who are shown to be exceptional at volleyball and who the other characters look up to. They may seem perfect from the outside, but we are also able to see their imperfections. We realize that no one is born "perfect" or "extremely talented". It takes effort to be good at something, and though we may encounter bumps along the way, perseverance and hard work will pay off. Another valuable lesson is the importance of teamwork. Without teammates and friends by their side, many characters in the show wouldn't have grown as people and reached their full potential. It is often emphasized in the anime that you can't win a volleyball match alone; it takes six players together on the court to win.

This piano concerto is a very lively piece of classical music composed in the Romantic era. I discovered it back in May and listening to it for the first time was an experience that I would pay to relive. I listen to a lot of classical music and when I listened to this piece, I just immediately fell in love. It gave me goosebumps and as it went on, my smile only grew wider. I was astounded at how beautiful it was. It's so magical and romantic - the way it was written and the way it was played, it's something words cannot at all describe unless you listen to it. And yes, I know it takes a lot of willpower to listen to music that isn't mainstream and isn't quite in the style of our modern music nowadays, (and for almost 40 minutes at that!) but I assure you, even if you just put it in the background or if you do choose to put your full focus on listening to it, it will be worth every second.

In modern times, music is usually accompanied by lyrics, and that's usually what draws us in. The relatable lyrics, the catchy beat, but I think this piece is really powerful for it to have made me feel such intense emotions through music and music only. You really just have to listen to it to know what I mean.

I could honestly ramble on and on about this but to sum it up in a word - it's magical. It's magical, and quintessentially so.

"I met the girl under full-bloomed cherry blossoms and my fate has begun to change"

A romantic comedy (mixed with some drama) between a pianist and violinist. It makes you laugh, cry, and at times a mix of both. The show can present itself to be sweet, romantic, and funny. But it's also unafraid of showing darker themes like suffering from PTSD, child abuse, and death.

I personally enjoyed it because at times I could relate to the main character, Arima Kousei. Pessimistic, always looking down, and easy to anger. Another good thing about this anime is the soundtrack. From the opening and ending to the piano & violin music that plays in the actual episode, you can feel the emotions that the show is trying to express.

There's only one season and the story is quite easy to follow. I think it was removed from Netflix but if you want to watch it, there is an English dub and a Japanese dub (with Eng subtitles) on 9anime.

I wanted to recommend this song because this is about your stereotypical storyline of someone reminiscing about a failed relationship. A breakup song sung by Day6, nothing more or less. It actually has 2 versions, one in Hangul/Korean and one in English, I actually recommend listening to the Korean version more than the English version. This is actually an effective way to symbolize what parts were happy versus sad. All of the bright memories played in pastel tones with a halo filter while the negative moments were monochromatic with sharp contrast.

You can listen to this if you want to emote for a moment hehehe ( I usually listen to this song, one of my comfort song because I can relate for some reasons )

I recommend this Japanese anime series "Black Clover" it is good anime series about a two boy abandoned same day in front of the church who dreams to be a magic emperor to protect their kingdom. A boy has a strong magical power while the other boy have no magical power but his only power is not giving up, they both passed into being a magic knights. You will learned how to protect others even if you don't have any magical power, fighting for your dreams until it happens, battling as a teammates and trust each one another until you win. This is available in Netflix but not yet finished.

The Intern is my go-to movie whenever I feel sad. The flow of the movie is really chill which is why I love watching it. It follows the story of Ben, a senior intern at an online fashion site, and his boss Jules. Throughout the movie, Ben navigates through his job as an intern in a company that is built by and consists of young people. I love how the two main characters formed an unlikely friendship and how they learn new stuff from each other. I never get tired of watching this movie no matter how many times I've watched it. It's a good movie choice when you just want to chill and laugh a bit. While watching, you will also encounter many lessons and good quotes like this one:

“You should feel nothing but great about what you've done, and I'd hate to see you let anyone take that away from you.”

this is my all time favorite anime ever. i really like the plot and i could watch the movie everyday. at first, i didnt understand the movie at all. it was showed on tv at a late time and it was a weekend that time so i decided to wait for it. the movie really had my full attention because the plot was actually confusing. i'm not really interested in movies but this movie really brought me to the world of anime. after i watched this movie, it made me want to watch more anime movies. and that lead me to weathering with you which is also my favorite anime movie.

Alice in borderland is one of my favorite series because it has the perfect amount of action, puzzle solving, romance, intense scene and action. This series has made me smile, cry, furious, and perplexed all at the same time. One of my favorite trait about this series is that all of the characters have their own back story and they clearly show their motives on why they want to survive and fight. This series has it’s own manga, anime and live action series. The most popular version is the live action series but I prefer to read the manga more since some parts weren’t shown in the live action and the art is God tier👌, but whatever version you decide to watch/read they are still good.

The live action is on Netflix, the Anime has only a few episodes animated, and the manga can be read online if you search the title :))

Ever since I was little I've been one of those people who don't read too many books. But when pandemic came, when I watched the movie version of this book it suddenly made me want to read the book version of it and I did read it. And by finishing the book, it suddenly made me want to read more books than before. So I recommend this book and the movie (if you want a better ending) because it can bring you laughter and excitement from the moments of the 2 main characters and their relationships to their families.

The novel is young adult, romance and some life lessons in it as well to look forward to. I hope your heart will flipped too because of how interesting and good the story is, just like how the main characters flipped to one another or maybe just the other one ;))

Kaguya-sama: Love Is War is a manga which was also adapted into an anime. It's a rom-com anime that involves mind games which is usually what I watch. The plot is basically about the battle of wits between the Student Council's President and Vice President - both of whom are trying to make the other confess their feelings to them in order to win, which means confessing is considered losing at the war of love.

I love the thrill that happens in every episode, you won't even know what comes next. The way each of the characters play with each others mind just for them to confess and at the same time when each of them try to spill out hints of confession to push the other one to confess their feelings first gives me countless thoughts about what could possibly happen in the next episodes. Both of the characters denying when the whole school teases them and knowing the individual's point of view and what goes in their mind in every situation also lets you learn a lot about what a person in real life might think in that kind of situation.

The plot, episodes, animations, especially how the characters in the manga were adapted into an anime and the anime itself is amazing, I would definitely recommend.
