Module 2 Activity, Padlet Part I

Everyone has faced adversity at some point in their lives.

The powerful message behind these lyrics is why this piece is especially meaningful to me.

Life is unpredictable, bumps along the road are to be expected. This song encourages me to take life's hurdles in stride and to keep moving forward.

"Cause when push comes to shove, you taste what you're made of. You might bend, till you break cause its all you can take. On your knees you look up, decide you've had enough. You get mad. You get strong. Wipe your hands. Shake it off. Then you Stand"

Module 7 Activity, Padlet Part II

BEAT: "Stand" by Rascal Flatts has a steady and consistent beat throughout the entire song. The percussion and the baseline of the guitar are what maintain it, which makes it easy to tap your foot along to it.

TEMPO: The moderato tempo remains consistent throughout the entire song.

METER: This song is done in the time signature 4/4. The first beat is by far the accented the strongest, and the third beat is stronger than the second and fourth.

RHYTHM: In the introduction of the song, the rhythm begins quite slow. However, the rhythm quickly picks up in the chorus. As the song progresses, the rhythm in the chorus remains slightly faster in comparison to the verses.

Module 15 Activity, Padlet Part III

HARMONY: This is a monophonic piece since there is only one vocal part. The layering of the guitar and the percussion instruments creates a rich harmonic listening experience. The singer's natural vibrato blend the notes together seamlessly. This adds expression and richness to his vocals.

TIMBRE: The guitar and the percussion instruments are consistent and steady throughout the entire duration of the song. They establish a smooth and rich timbre. In my opinion, this adds to the uplifting nature of the song. The steadiness of these instruments reinforces the message to stay strong and persevere.
