This lesson will incorporate the students making their own MyPlate. They will be given a template such as the one above. They will be required to illustrate a food that would fit in each category that they like to eat. Therefore, they will be using this template to make a meal they would actually eat that is healthy and follows the MyPlate template. For example, I could make a meal of strawberries (fruit), broccoli (vegetable), brown rice (grain), fish (protein) and milk (dairy).

Reflection: After the students have all finished their MyPlate meals. I want everyone to share with a partner. This will help the students see other possibilities that they could've made as well using MyPlate.

This lesson will help students improve and practice which foods belong in certain food categories on MyPlate. The five categories are above. Each student will role a dice that either has green, red, orange, purple or blue on it. They will then go up to the board and under that category draw a food or drink that would fit under that category. For example if I rolled the dice and it was red I would go up to the board and draw a banana.

Reflection: At the end of the lesson we will all have a discussion about everything we drew on the board. We will ask ourselves if everything is correct or if there is anything else we can add on the board.

This lesson will help students to determine what foods are bad or good for their teeth and bones. They will get pictures of food healthy and unhealthy. There is an example above of some foods and drinks that would be incorporated. The students will get a copy of two teeth one happy and one sad. They will then glue to pictures on the appropriate teeth. For example, I would put a carrot on the happy tooth and a piece of chocolate on the sad tooth.

Reflection: After this lesson is over the students will get with partners and make a short movie. Their movie will consist of one of them being the sad tooth and one of them being the happy tooth. They will then describe why the tooth is happy or why the tooth is sad.

We will begin this lesson by the students picking two of their favorite activities of recreations. They will then try to use both of them to form a new activity that would be fun. For example, if I choose basketball and dance I would come up with a new activity that incorporated both which could possibly be a dance using a basketball.

Reflection:
After this lesson some students would be encouraged to share their creations. This will help everyone in the class go home with a lot of different ideas for some activities to do at home to get exercise.
