A main aspect of this is the cafeteria seating, with specific groups at each table such as the freshmen, preps, jocks or plastics. Students are unwelcome to sit at a table if they don't fit in with that particular group, so Cady has to choose which group she fits in best with. This is because there are many situations and moments in the film that I can talk about. Social influence and conformity is shown greatly in the movie with the popular group influencing the choices of those in other groups, especially those who want to be seen as ‘cool’ and fit in. Obedience can be seen with the teachers telling the students what to do and then them doing as told. Regina promised Cady she would talk to him about her as she really likes him. However, Regina uses this to her power and says misleading information about Cady to Aaron, leaving him unsure about her. They show this to Cady and without thinking she says "Damian, almost too gay to function". She instantly regrets it as it's not something she would usually say. Along with Regina talking Cady into saying things like "that was a real bitchy thing to do", so peer pressure also comes along with this. Later on this turns into Damien and Janet wanting payback from Regina and talking Cady into sabotaging her with giving Regina weight gain bars that she said helps to lose weight or giving her foot creme to use on her face.
