The use of Technology in Art - Brianna Walker

The use of technology in art classes is very slim. Art is created from many different inspirations people have, and most of these inspirations come from our own lives; such as, family or certain teachers and friends. These inspirations maybe from television or books. But it is difficult to find use of technology in the art room. Of course there are things like Photoshop, Digital Illustration, Photography, and Light Room that can be taught to students, but these are expensive programs and equipment to have installed. And even if an art teacher could get there hands on the programs and equipment like cameras, would there be a place in the school where the art classes could go to actually work on these things? Most art rooms are not large enough to contain their own computer lab, and most computer labs in schools require teachers to plan ahead before students are allowed to go in and work. So my question is, how can I as an art teacher incorporate more technology in my own class room?

Depending on the school district you may have access to tech, but if not you have to get creative. If your wanting your students to do research they can use the library. Creating games is a fun way to teach your students and it motivates them to learn the material.I provided an image as an example for games in art. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxnslXHFhzA
~Chelsea Rocha

I think that the simplicity of the definition of technology is often overlooked by professionals. Technology can literally be almost anything used that was invented and used to make a task easier. Rulers could be technology, while also having students using their phones to look up an image to follow along to sketch.
