Conduct literature search on the chosen topic and produce annotated bibliography. (1500 words)

 

Students are advised to read 10-20 sources (or more if they can) that are related to their chosen research topic, and include 5 most relevant sources in their annotated bibliography.

 

Each annotation (approximately 300 words) should preferably contain the following information:

 

1. Citation details (set out in the same style as an APA reference list item) 

2. A short statement that explains the main focus or purpose of the work 

3. A short summary of the theory, research findings or argument (e.g. intended audience, subjects covered, major arguments supported, research methods, conclusions reached, special features) 

4. An evaluative comment on the work (e.g. weaknesses in argument, methodological limitations of the study, depth of discussion, generalisability of results)

5. Consideration of the usefulness and/or limitations of the text for your research (e.g. critical comment, critical reflection that describes the usefulness or relevance of the source for your own research).
