I have learned how to: express myself in the past tense using the preterite and imperfect tense, use indirect objects, and a vast array of vocabulary. The vocabulary I have learned has allowed me to be able to speak and write about: school, family, activities, food, shopping, and the community. My speaking and pronunciation skills have greatly increased throughout my trip. In Spanish the adjective follows the noun. In English the adjective is before the noun. Also in Spanish every words is either feminine or masculine. Masculine words end with o and feminine words end with a. In Spanish verbs require different conjugations based on based on who you are referring to. In English there is nothing like this. The Spanish language also has different tenses and moods. These tenses and moods are used for describing different time periods, feeling, and more. My favorite thing I learned about Spanish culture was how Spaniards take the time off from 12 to 2. I loved this time period because I could take a nap and relax for a few hours, do my homework, or hang out with my new friends during this time. I also liked how in Spain there were very little mega grocery stores, where a large variety of products can be found but rather there were tons of small stores that sold a certain product. I want to be able to understand all of the different moods and tenses of Spanish as well as be able to fluently read and speak in Spanish. I know that this endeavor will take a long time but I am willing to continue on my studies. I also how to learn more Spanish vocabulary so I can accurately and articulately speak, write, or listen in Spanish.
