  • CRT monitor are very heavy and so this means when a graphic designer would like to move his setup to a different location, the person will need to be very strong.
  • It uses a lot of energy so this mean if the graphic designer was to be using the monitor all day, their electrics bill will be very high.
  • It generate a lot of excess heat so this mean there is a lot there is a lot of waste energy from the energy used. Due to the electron beams needing a lot of energy, a lot of heat is produced.
LCD
  • A LCD screen can only display the amount of pixels that the display can offer so this mean if you are trying to view an image which is less or more than the resolution  that the screen can offer, then the image is blurry.

- Initial Cost; Ink-jet printers are one of the lowest cost products on the market.
- Quality; Today you can create images or documents with high quality by Inkjet printers.
- Space; Ink jet printers are of a comfortable size, perfect to put on your desk or a small room in your home to serve to your work.
Ink-Jet printers - disadvantages:
- Cartridge cost - Over a long period of time, the cartridge cost can exceed the machine cost.
- Speed; An inkjet printer is slower to print compared to it's other competitors, such as a laser printer.
- Ink; Replacing the ink cartridges cause some unexpected problems in the printing process. The printer can become clogged with ink causing prints to be dodgy.

Laser printers - advantages:
- High quality printouts; better than ink-jet prints.
- Fast printouts; faster than ink-jet at printing.
- Cost per page is low; the printing cost per page is much cheaper.
Laser printers - disadvantages:
- Very expensive to set up; When compared to inkjet printers, it has a high startup cost.
- Fairly large; Compared to inkjet printers, they are big, harder to fit into a small room and/or onto a small desk.
- Toner has a high cost; Toner, when compared to ink-jet cartridges, is very expensive.

Comparing an ink-jet printer and a laser printer:
An ink-jet printer could be considered to be better than a laser printer due to the low start up cost, the lower price of ink cartridges when compared to the toner cartridges and also because of the size of the laser printer. The laser printer could therefore be considered better for a school and also a place of work due to the fact that it is speedy at printing things, and has high quality print outs and takes up a lot of room. A SSD will drawn on average 2 - 3 watts and a HDD will draw about 6 - 7 watts.
However, the cost of a HDD is only around $0.03 per gigabyte and a SSD average $0.20 per gigabyte.
The HDD will also be larger with a maximum size of 10TB for a desktop and a SSD will have a maximum size of 4TB for a desktop.
