In 2000, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors established the Arts Internship Program, which provides internships for nonprofit performing, presenting, film, media, literary, municipal arts, social justice and social service nonprofit organizations as a companion program to the Getty Marrow Undergraduate Internship Program, which provides internships to museums and visual arts organizations. The purpose of the County’s program is to provide undergraduate students with meaningful on-the-job training and experience working in nonprofit arts organizations.

Students and recent graduates from all majors can gain real-world experience by completing short-term, paid, typically-remote, professional projects. Micro-Internships allow you to demonstrate skills while exploring potential career paths—all on your schedule.

The FAFSA is the only way to be considered for Federal Work-Study. Once you’ve filled out your FAFSA form, PCC will complete a financial aid offer. This offer outlines all your financial aid options, including Federal Work-Study if PCC has determined you’re eligible. Check your PCC email for a follow-up email that should include something similar to the following:

Accept or decline your Federal Work-Study award within 15 days of this notification. Awards not accepted by the deadline will be cancelled.

To Accept Your Federal Work-Study Offer

1. Log in to LancerPoint.
2. Locate the My Financial Aid card.
3. Select the Offer tab on your Financial Aid dashboard.
4. Under the Work section, choose Accept.
5. Click Submit to acknowledge the financial aid terms and conditions.

If You Do Not Wish to Participate

If you are not interested in Federal Work-Study, please log in to LancerPoint and select Decline for your award offer.

To Remain Eligible

You must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and be enrolled in at least 6 semester units.

Accepting your Federal Work-Study offer does not guarantee employment. To earn your award, you must apply for and secure a Federal Work-Study position.

After accepting your award:

• Log in to Handshake with your Lancer Email to view and apply for available Work-Study positions.

• Complete the Hourly Employment Application to get a head start on the employment onboarding process.

• The Freeman Center is available to assist with job searches, applications, and interview preparation."

Don't Qualify for Work-Study? Some students, based on personal or financial factors might not qualify for Federal Work-Study. There are typically other on-campus job opportunities that come up periodically, including Tutoring and Summer JAM Orientation Leaders. Check Handshake and feel free to visit the Freeman Career Center for support.
