         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hello! My name is Daphnny Leiva, I'm 19 and I am student at Miami-Dade College based in the Wolfson Campus. I major in Business Administration and am nearing the end of my required credits for my associate's degree. Afterwards I was planning to to transfer to FIU to pursue my bachelor's degree. I have no current work experience except for an internship involing entrepreneurship during my highschool days back at Coral Gables High. I grew up in Miami with my family: my mother, father, younger brother and grandmother. I own two pets, cockatiels, named Angel and Luna. I am an avid reader and enjoy reading not just fiction but historical literature that includes a lot of lore and context surrounding its events. I am not completely sure where I see myself in the future past staying in school, I am not one to plan ahead too far. However, I do know that that I would very much like to leave Florida in favor of, preferably, living in another country in the future.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In the video were described the process of CER; claim, reaasoning, and evidence. Claim, in the video, is described as a statement you would put in the conclusion of a scientifict theory that supports your hypothesis or is similar to your hypothesis. However that is all a claim is, a statement with nothing to back it up. This is where the evidence comes in. Evidence is best described as research of facts to support your claim. Things such as scientific observations and peer-reviewed articles can help provide strong evidence to support your claim. However, simply gathering evidence and laying it out will not automatically prove your claim. Reasoning is what connects both parts. The process is best seen as connecting chunks of evidence to fit your claim. They have many differences you can see and the only similarity is how they help each other out.This method of scientific theory can be used in many areas of study not just scientific.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After watching the video "When is a pandemic over?" it helped me better understand how early the spread of infection can be stopped. Like many other viruses, they simply don't dissapear they will always exist whether seasonally or in those without functioning immune systems. However, with vaccines many of use will be able to combat whenever the virus decides resurface. In the video it describes three different ways in which the world can end a pandemic and of course slow and steady wins the race. Now everyone will build an immunity eventually but without vaccines the death rate would be insurmountable and worse yet whenever the virus comes back it could possibly mutate and take another significant death toll before we build immunity again. In my previous knowledge I had already known that ending a pandemic is possible but not in the case of ending a virus. Many will come back to try to make waves and will only be alarming if none of us are already prepped to fight it.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><em>Ara glaucogularis </em>or the Blue-throated macaw is a species of birds labeled as critically endangered by the IUCN Red List and endangered by ECOS. This due to ever increasing avian competition, overzealous hunting from the indigenous of Bolivia, and the exotic pet trade. Indigenous hunting of the bird for their feathers was outlawed in 2010. The ICUN lists about 200-300 surviving adults since February 2021. The macaw is native to Bolivia residing in small a patch of land up north, Los Llanos de Moxos. The biological climate of these birds is Tropical. They live in forests, grasslands, savannas, and marshes in the north Bolivia area. Currently, the Blue-throated macaw has been observed to hold a more stable population growth in recent years. This is very good as the native environment they reside over is small and they are not migratory birds especially during the mating season.          <description><![CDATA[<div>After watching the feedback loops video there was something I found interesting. Although I knew that when organic matter died it went back into the environment as new energy. What I didn't know is that decaying plants turns into a type of organic mass called humus. The humus provides nutrients and moisture in the soil for new growth. So the cycle of plants dying, creating humus, and then growing new plants which will eventually die is called a feedback loop.</div>]]></description>

These discs are what transform the caterpillar to a butterfly during the pupa stage. Juvenile hormones suppress the discs for the caterpillar before it goes through metamorphosis.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The image I uploaded concerning muscle cells and enzymes also includes an article talking about a metabolic disorder as well.<br>This shows how a normal body would function processing food through the cells producing ATP which powers muscle contraction. However, in a metabolic disorder lack of certain mitochondria are not able to produce ATP as much which causes lack of the ability of muscle contraction.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I selected my species, the blue-throated macaw, because I have a sort of favoritism to birds and because I had already heard something pertaining to the endangerment of the species. Although the population is somewhat stable it can still be affected by climate change. Many of the protected macaws reside in the savannas and marshes of their home environment which can be prone to forest fires.          <description><![CDATA[<div>The padlet I chose to review was Victoria Juarbe's. Off the bat you can see that the choice of design is quite pretty and really shows what Victoria wants us to see about her personality, she likes pink and is very organized. I chose her padlet because we share some similar interest in the education of children. She wants to become a speech therapist with a focus on children with autism. She also goes in depth about why she chose her species, the monarch butterfly. Exploring not only the endangerment of the species itself but also the endangerment of the milkweed plant. Her discussions are well put together and truly highlights what she found interesting in every video we have watched. As I said before her padlet is quite organized and sectioned each topic and divided her posts that way.          <title>Species Evolution</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>There is no clear evidence as to why or how my species, Blue-throated macaw, evolved. Any evidence to support the existence of this particular coloration is the fact that they are often confused with Blue-yellow macaws and that in times of mating they known to only stay with one partner for life. Their mating habits have made for slower increase in numbers but it is still steady. I believe that the Blue-throated macaw evolved from the Blue-yellow macaws mostly because of how similar their coloration is. They are not migratory birds so mating season should come somewhat easy. Since they mate for life I can assume that long ago a mutation of the Blue-yellow macaw resulted in the blue throat feather coloration and it possibly became an attractive feature over time.          <title>My Experience in This Course</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I chose this course as away to complete my requirements for my degree but also because I was interested in the contents of this class. This class was not something on the forefront of mind but I knew it was my responsibility to pay attention and do the work. Although some things about how the course worked confused me I was well corrected by the time it was necessary. This class moved at a comfortable pace and was quite delightful as I relearned some basic knowledge and fun facts about what we discussed in the course. This course was not how my mind planned it out to be but was still informative nonetheless.<br><br></div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;I believed this course would go through the motions like any other class with either assigned homework, an online course or both. It was quite a surprise when the professor announced that all work would be completed in class. The news gave me a much clearer idea of how I would balance my time but also caused me to experience some stress as to how I was going to be able to complete all assignments within class time. Most of my worries were due to the fact that was not sure of how exactly this class was to run. My worries were unproven as many of the assignments were easy, fun, informative to course, and a little bit long at times. That did not stop me from completing all assignments.<br><br></div><div>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;In conclusion, this course, although different from my usual, proved to be quite effective in teaching what I needed to know and what the professor wanted me to learn. Many of the mini-lectures were good preparation in what I needed to know for my quizzes and served a great deal in my participation grade. I also learned how to better complete assignments on time crunch with excellent results. This course was very informative and changed how much time I truly need to complete assignments with ease.<br><br></div>]]></description>
