Several aspects of the campaign were successful. Presenting the survey results on students’ Mediterranean Diet Scores sparked interest and encouraged personal reflection among participants. The educational posters and comics exhibition attracted attention during breaks and visually reinforced key messages about healthy eating. The info session, led by the Teacher of Nutrition and Health, the Teacher of Sociology, and the School Nurse, was informative and well-structured, offering different perspectives on how diet affects both physical and social well-being. However, there were still areas for improvement. Some students suggested that activities could be more interactive to maintain engagement, and the info session could benefit from incorporating multimedia such as short videos or real-life success stories.

In future campaigns, we plan to include events within a themed week so to help maintaining interest and momentum throughout. Greater involvement from various classes could be achieved by encouraging teachers to integrate the campaign theme into their lessons. We are also going to include a Mediterranean-themed recipe contest for students and parents, and invite local health professionals or chefs for live demonstrations and talks to further enrich the experience.

The campaign achieved significant impact across various levels. A notable 88% of respondents reported learning new information about diet sustainability, while 70% expressed a desire to change at least one eating habit, such as reducing meat consumption, choosing local foods, or avoiding packaged items. Several strengths supported the campaign’s overall success: strong collaboration across sectors such as health, climate, and food justice; effective and visually appealing media design; and an inclusive, respectful approach that honored the cultural diversity of food traditions.

This campaign confirmed that sustainable diets are an effective entry point to engage diverse groups in climate and health advocacy. Participants appreciated the blend of science, culture, and action. Collaboration with external speakers and local producers brought real-world insight, but also showed the need to plan earlier to align schedules. A key takeaway is that behavior change begins with small, practical steps. Visual tools (infographics, challenges) were especially powerful in breaking down complex ideas. In the future, we aim to integrate more follow-up resources (like meal planning guides and seasonal food calendars) and strengthen partnerships with local food systems.

The campaign saw active participation, with over 85 students and 12 teachers attending the activities. The info session generated strong interest and led to engaging discussions, particularly on the importance of preserving traditional agricultural knowledge and food sovereignty. Participants especially appreciated the practical focus of the workshop, with older adult learners connecting personally to the themes. According to the feedback, 91% of attendees reported gaining new knowledge about sustainable food systems, while 78% indicated they were more likely to purchase or consume local seasonal foods after the campaign. Additionally, several adult learners expressed a renewed interest in supporting or reviving family farming practices. However, some challenges were noted, including text-heavy exhibition materials that were less accessible for quick viewing, scheduling limitations that affected attendance for working students, and limited space during the workshop, which made hands-on activities more difficult with larger groups. Despite these challenges, the campaign’s strengths were clear: strong involvement from vocational instructors and local producers added authenticity; the topic aligned well with students’ vocational and personal interests; and the presence of learners across different age groups fostered a meaningful exchange of experiences and perspectives.

Overall, the campaign succeeded in making an important topic tangible and motivating participants to consider how tradition can be part of a healthier, more sustainable future.

Some people stopped to ask questions or share their own experiences with healthy eating. Young children accompanying parents also showed interest in the visual aspects of the brochure.

Organizing and delivering this campaign taught us how important communication and preparation are when engaging with the public. One of the biggest successes was how approachable and informative our brochures were. People appreciated that we used simple language and included tips that were realistic and relevant to everyday life. Many told us they had heard of the Mediterranean diet before but never understood why it was considered healthy. The campaign helped bridge that gap.

However, we also faced challenges. Not everyone was willing to stop and talk, especially during busier hours. We realized that standing in a central square can feel overwhelming, and we didn’t always feel confident approaching strangers. Some of us were unsure how to respond when people asked questions beyond what we had prepared. Additionally, although our brochures looked professional, some feedback suggested including more visuals (like meal photos) to attract attention.

Next time, we will do a few things differently. First, we will organize a short public demonstration—such as preparing a Mediterranean snack or offering tastings—to draw more people in. We will also divide our team into clear roles: some will distribute materials, others will focus on starting conversations. We will prepare a list of common questions and answers so we feel more confident when talking to adults. Finally, we will promote the event in advance on social media and in local shops to attract a larger and more diverse audience.

Overall, this campaign gave us a real-world opportunity to apply what we’ve learned in class and promote health in our community. It made us realize that small actions—like sharing a brochure or having a meaningful chat—can have a lasting impact.
