1. The matrix provides lots of example for each level of intergration.
2. It doesn't say what kind of technology can be used

There is a matrix that provides levels of technology integration such as: entry, adoption, adaptation, infusion, and transformation.

1. The appeal of this model is that it is simple and takes into account all levels of students in technology integration. Any age group of students can use available technology to create, consume, curate, and connect to increase their knowledge and understanding of content. This model is also very applicable to teachers who are also at the beginning stages of integrating technology in the classroom.

2.  How are students being taught to curate all the information that is available online?  How is the connect component fully used in integration?

3. This model is not fullly in use within the district, but through collaboration and talking with other teachers, I can see where it is being used individually be certain teachers.

4. I feel that this model is one that students can easily understand with proper instruction by a competent and tech savvy teacher.   • What is appealing about this model? This model takes into account Content, Pedagogy, and Technology and has the instructor question how each should impact instructional practices. 
  • What questions does this model raise for you? When determine how students learn best (Pedagogy), how do you deal with multiple styles of learning in one classroom?  How can you differentiate/scaffold the concepts for different levels of learners? 
  • To what extent is your district using this model? Our district takes into account the Content and Pedagogical areas, but is attempting integrate the Technology aspect in a more effective manner for all learners.  The design qualities focus heavily on the Content aspect, but we are learning to incorporate more Pedagogical and Technology aspects.  
  • What difference might using this model make for students? Meeting the needs of all learners in a novel manner that is differentiated for their specific levels.

It is appealing, because it is a process that will hopefully lead students to be lifelong learners and help them be able to sort through the information that they consume. 

    2. How do you teach students in all subject areas to decipher and sort through good and bad sources?  How can this be broken down to use within time constainsts of a class? How do we ensure that we are using the technology innovatively and not allowing it to be a “babysitter”?

    3. I think that we are all still in the beginning stages, where most teachers are still the curators.

    4. It will provide a structure and process to help students organize and use their thoughts and work.     This raises an important question such as, “ Is the technology I am using in the classroom helpful to learning?”

    We are not familiar with this specific model, but we have used similar ways of enhancing and transforming lessons. (Coaching CIrcles)

    This model will allow us to integrate technology into our lessons in a useful way. If we can integrate technology in a useful way, then we can enhance student learning and achievement.

    1. This model helps teachers to understand which technologies are best suited and appropriate for the specific content. 
    2. How does the model affect a novice/veteran teacher?
    3. Since implementing the iPADS this school year, our district has begun to implement a variety of technology strategies. As we move forward and become much more familiar with what is available, most teachers will replace the textbook with technology. The district is supportive.
