Where do jeans originate from?

Jeans are trousers made of denim, they were first made in the US when Davis was commissioned by a mining company to make strong pants because the miners pants weren't durable and kept tearing. He partnered up with Levi who could supply him with denim and began manufacturing the pants in the 1870s, it wasn't until the 1890s that the first pair was actually made.
