Have you ever heard about a land where the 99.5% of the energy that is produced comes from renewable sources? Have you ever heard about a land that is untouched despite as enviromental level having a big population of 372, 520? Have you ever heard about a land where waters are completely pure?
Well It looks like Neverland with Peter Pan looking beyond mountains but It's not!
THIS IS ICELAND , the most sustainable country of all the world! and today I'm here to go deeply in this! Is this just a dream? or are there humans that respect the enviroment? let's see

LITTLE REMINDER ABOUT SUSTAINABILITY

as we all have reached during these years , our world is changing in bad, due climate change, pollution, exploitation of unrenewable resourses and gazes that are changing atmosphere.
we arrived to a point without returned ticket, we have to act to live. The only key for the future that we have is
SUSTAINABILITY, development in which the resources used in the present must not affect the future of the next generations guaranteeing the same rights as now

at the base of this there are renewable resourses, like sun, water,air... that should replace fossil resourses as carbon, CH4, CHO2...
this are so essentials for a sustainable development and for save the world, HOW ISLAND USE RENUEWABLE FORCES?

ICELAND AS THE MOST SUSTANAIBLE COUNTRY OF ALL THE WORLD

"ENERGY IS ALL AROUND US" this is what Iceland reached more than anyone, A NEW PROSPECTIVE FROM SOME VERY OLD PROBLEMS. It's for this that the 100% of electricity comes from renewable energy source. This is produced BY THE HEAT FROM VOLCANIC ACTIVITY UNDER THE SURFACE AND FORCE FROM CASCADING WATERFALLS!
For this combination Iceland is called the LAND OF FIRE AND ICE"

undersurface there are extreme geothermal activities that could produce lot of energy for all the country.

Icelandic renewable energies are natural resources, able to regenerate at the same rate as they are consumed, without ever running out. Specifically, geothermal and hydroelectric energy. An incredible fact but true.

Iceland has been able to distribute to all companies and households hot water for heating and services coming only from geothermal plants, without need to use fossil fuels for this.

South Iceland, HEADED EAST

one of the most curious thing you could find in Iceland is that here are produced the purest ingredients od all the world and that there , there are different sustainable way to bae things. It's the case of the Geothermal wellness centre, where you can bake rye bread in the springs because sands are boiling at 95 Celsius!
near there one sping could find the electricity for all the villages! So how this could work?

Earth under the surface is divided in 7 thick rocks called the seven plates, this take name from the continent where they are:
African, Antarctic, Eurasian, Indo-Australian, North American, Pacific and South American
there are also minor plates on the Earth's crust

In iceland there is a bridge that connetted two continents,
the Eurasian ad North America tectonic plates
they are constantly spreding from each other, about 2.50 cm per year

there are 4 geothermal plans in Iceland

so all start from pipelines linked to each field of the place.
from there you arrive to the plant where there are bore holes houses that drilled a mile into the ground.
so they pun on the surface steam that in big rotors, enterd the turbine ( 45 mega watts for each turbine that can round 45,ooo homes), start he move circly, and the movement becomes electricity.
one of the dowsides of producing energy from this way is that magma contains CO2 ad hydrogen sulfide, but all these gases are re-inijected in the rock, where It mineralizes and so create unique minerals

GULLFOSS: WHERE WATER FOR HYDROELECTRIC PLANTS COMES FROM

gullfoss are amazing waterfalls in Iceland, they're one of the most important turist attraction in the country. Imagine that in 2017, 1,340,000 visitors have seen Gullfoss and they are composed of 37,000 gallons of water in summer and 21,000 in winter.
Gullfoss is a mix of over 10,000 waterfalls of all sizes and shapes!
here there is also a legend about the waterfalls that must not be used just for plans but also for their beauty as tourist attraction. So Icelanders try to keep a balance between damming waterfalls for energy and also reamin untouched for their beauty, for this just 10 of all are in the hydroelectric plants. moreover the moving of the waterfalls produces negative ioons that relieve stress just looking at them.

in Iceland there are 15 hydropower stations that generate the 75% OF THE COUNTRY ELECTRICITY
to show how much water works as forse in the base of the stations there are some force games... Water is too strong

so when water is transposed in the plant that are conected from a natural cave that step by step become a tunnel where there are turbines , turbines work with the pressure and this turn all in power

" the more force, the better"
SO NO CARBOON FOOTPRINT, ENERGY FOR ALL THE CITY

PURE INGREDIENTS

It's normal talking of a bar of chocolate made with sea salt
or the consrrvations of fruits and vegetables with fermenting
and also dishes with sleaves of your garden!

We often hear the term 'Democracy,' and fortunately, many parts of the world thrive in its essence. However, at times, it becomes challenging to articulate its true meaning. Democracy, fundamentally, is a system of governance where power resides in the hands of the people, either directly or through elected representatives. It’s the fundamental principle of the rights and the freedom of humans, evident in the cornerstone of this form of government: free elections through universal suffrage.Thanks to the voting mechanism, democracy ensures that individuals become active citizens, actively participating in political and life choices. It is the effective key of our human rights and freedoms, aspects we often take for granted. We forget that in some parts of the world, these liberties remain a distant dream, overlooking the sacrifices and bloodshed of men and women who fought to secure a future of rights and respect for generations to come.The key features of democracy find expression in two foundational documents: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948, strengthened by the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights in 1966. Democracy is also one of the fundamental principles of the United Nations. The etymology of democracy itself, deriving from 'δῆμος' meaning 'people' and '-κρατος' meaning 'power,' encapsulates its essence: power to the people. In fact, democracy guarantees individuals the opportunity to be active citizens in political reality, offering freedom within the context of community. However, being in a democracy does not equate to unrestricted freedom; one person must exercise freedom without overcoming the rights of fellow citizens. the key element that balances all this is a concept that lots of times in humanity is missing: respect. Respect is connected to the idea of equality transcending gender, name, color, or any other characteristic, fostering a balanced political action based oncitizens' needs and basic human rights. Together, these principles contribute to refining a form of government that brings us closer to human needs, representing us in the actual sense of the term.

have you ever thought about what's the earliest document of rights and freedoms? that's MAGNA CARTA also named "THE GREAT CHARTER". You may heard about this, but let's focus on this document. firstly, Magna Carta is often considered one of the most important early contribution to the establishment of constitutional law in English- speaking countries. By declaring the sovereign to be subject to the rule of law and documenting the liberties held by “free men,” the Magna Carta provided the foundation for individual rights in Anglo-American jurisprudence. Infact, king John imposed heavy taxes in his territories and in 1215 his barons started to complain but, since obody was listening to them, they rebelled and took control of London and in this way they forced him to sign the Magna Carta document, where he defined the rules that he would on obey in dealing with free men and even the king was subjected to law. this point is one of the biggest revolutions, as the right of the church to be free from government influence, the right of all free citizens to own and inherit property, and right to justice, with process and equality, as nowadays concept. we have to add that these rights and freedoms were applied only to free men and not serfs, escluding to majority of the population, but it can be considered a first step to the equal and right world we're trying to reach yet.

Agenda 2030

One of the first goals humanity has is to reach sustainability, not only in the environment field; in fact, with sustainable development we have to imagine a common development, in all alive fields, that must not damage future generations without deprive the current one. So, according to science, sustainable development is "an organizing principle that aims to meet human development goals and also enabling natural systems to provide necessary ecosystem services to humans". To reach this goal, politicians all over the world, established on the 25th September 2015, the agenda 2030 signed by 193 countries of UN. The Agenda 2030 is a plan of action for people, planet and prosperity. It also seeks to strengthen universal peace in larger freedom and it's made of 17 Goals and 169 targets that define all the universal problems and the results we would like to reach in 2030.

The goals set for sustainable development have global validity, concern and involve all countries and components of society, from private companies to the public sector, from civil society to information and culture operators. The 17 Goals refer to a set of important issues for development that take into consideration in a balanced manner the three dimensions of sustainable development - economic, social and ecological.

Here I quote all the goals:

no poverty
zero hunger
good health and well-being
quality education
gender equality
clean water ad sanitation
affordable and clean energy
decent work and economic growth
industry, innovation and infrastructure
reduced inequalities
sustainable cities and communities
respondible consuption and production
climate action
life below water
life on land
peace, justice and strong institutions
partnerships for the goals.

Nowadays situations make us realise how much these goals are utopic for a time of 15 years, but at the same time, having the consciousness of what are the universal issues of our world make us more responsable about all the goals. not all politicians have respected it , and our current wars are the evidence, but humanity can change things in everybody's lifestyle, because one action multiplied by 8 billion people is the change.
