         <title>Use of Level Texts</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Each element requires a different level of support from the teacher and respects the level of control or independence of the children<br><br>child has mostly the control but the teacher provides a small amount of supports<br><br>Four Levels of Reading<br>1. Reading Aloud- teacher provides fun supports, students focus on pictures, join in with he reading but do not focus on the words<br>2. Shared Reading- Teacher provides high level of supports, a lot of conversation about the story and some group problem solving, readers support each other<br>3.  Guided Reading- some teacher support, readers mostly independently problem solve.<br>4. Independent Reading- little to no teacher supports, reader independently solves problems while reading<br><br>Four Writing Levels-<br>1. shared writing- teacher full supports, teacher is the scribe and guides children with their ideas<br>2. Interactive- high level of support, read many times, teacher composes the written with help from the students<br>3. Guided- some support, teacher conferences with each child<br>4. Independent- children write their own messages, little no no teacher efforts (F&amp;P)</div>]]></description>
