         <description><![CDATA[<div>So, time flies so fast it's just like doing the first PCE reflection. I still remember the first day where we just started to learnt about what is PCE, and what can we would learnt in this course. If you ask me about my feelings, to be honest, I am gonna miss this subject because it is kinda a special subject especially on the situation given in solving a problem. The experience I had gained in this class are that the learning method from Sir Tazli is actually very effective if all students agreed to this teaching method. I admire how Sir is trying to change the learning method in Malaysia despite the criticism or comments given by others who does not agree with this teaching method. But from my perspective, if this method can be apply in Malaysia successfully, it is going to change the world. From all the mistakes that I discovered in myself throughout this course is that I need to be more confident next time to ask question, because I just hate the sudden silence when asking question. Again, thank you Sir so much for your teaching, and new learning method, this method let me understand how the overseas U-students learn in their studies. It is actually a method where I had been looking forward to in UTP, where there would be a lecturer saying that learning something new is not just about grades, or whatsoever. It is about experiencing the joy in learning something new, something that is beneficial for my life. For now, Sir is the first lecturer I encountered in UTP who would see learning in another perspective. But, it is kinda hard for the learning method to change at first, but then I hope everyone understands in the end. Well, the action plan, it is the same old thing I just have to say, honestly the same, if any mistakes found, would try my best to fix it. Thank you very much Sir for your determination and hard work. I hope one day I could see Sir change Malaysia in the perspective of learning! May we meet again. :D </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When the sem first started I didn't know what was going to happen or what are we bound to learn for PCE, it seemed like a interesting subject at first with all the things you have to understand include with the whole concept about energy balances. It all seemed like it was going to be a subject that i couldn't do. But after 12 weeks of lectures everything changed, i could understand the subject more easily and enjoy it at the same time. The lecturers helped a lot with their way of teaching and it is very influential. I am looking forward for the EA where i can test my full knowledge of the subject. Ever since we had to learn from home, nothing has been easy but our lecturer did make things much easier for us such as our take home test and online classes. I'm grateful to have these kind of lecturers teaching me. I look forward to the EA and hope i can do well. With all the help from my lecturers i believe everything should be fine.          <description><![CDATA[<div>My 2nd sem is coming to an end and same goes to PCE. This is the first time i know what is PCE and the existence of it. So what can i say about it ? basically it a very interesting and a very important subject for every chemical engineering students. At the early stage, i learnt about unit conversion. It is a basic things and im very familiar with because i have learnt about it for many years, but then we started to learn about block diagram and that is the starting of every thing about PCE. The subject continue to become a very tough subject, moreover when i cant attend the class and need to learn by myself because of RMO. But i tried my best and im able to understand about it more. i hope i can do better for my EA and get a good results in PCE because i like this subject. Thankyou to both of my lecturer DR Wahyu and Dr tazli for teaching me.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This semester is exhausting as we learnt a lot throughout this semester. PCE has 2 Lecturers , Dr.Wahyu and Dr.Tazli. Both are great. Really appreciate the best effort to teach us. I'm glad to be taught by the both of you. Personally, I felt like sometimes I don't understand or couldn't really focus in class maybe because the topics were too long or bored. I think it is important for the lecturers to grab the attention of the students by being very supportive. And yes, the both of the lecturers are supportive. I understand it is hard to teach all students and make us understand but some of us are lost or slow learner. Anyways, PCE gave me a hard time but it is worth it as my major is CE. Thankyou .</div>]]></description>

I learned so much from this subject and my 2 lecturers. Eventhough we didnt have proper goodbyes before final exams i hope my friends and my lecturers are living their best life and always healthy and safe. I will miss dr wahyu and dr tazli's lectures for sure. When i first registered for this subject, i heard people says this is one of the difficult subjects for this semester, but with all the lecturers' help, i dont think it's really difficult but im lying if im saying the path was easy.          <description><![CDATA[<div>This semester is coming to an end. PCE is such an interesting course for me! I have learnt a lot of things throughout this course. To sum up, I have learnt about how to convert unit, how to calculate degree of freedom, how to calculate the wet basis&amp;dry basis, how to perform material balance and energy balance for reactive and non-reactive system. For me, energy balance is the hardest and the most challenging one as it requires HOTS. Due to MCO, we had two online classes for this semester. Throughout whole semester, the most special experience is we were required to conduct Take Home Test at home. It was absolutely a great experience to me since we needed to contruct the question ourselves. It had helped me to build up good thinking skills and improve my creativity. I’m glad that I’m able to learn PCE under the teaching of Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli. I believe that those things we learned, especially material and energy balances are very important and beneficial to us, and make use of it in the future. Moreover, I discover that curiosity is the best way of learning. If I have any questions, I must be brave and more confident to ask. Not only that, I also need to try hard to find the answers by reading and finding resources from internet. Now, the most important thing we need to do is work hard and try very best for EA so that we can get excellent result for this semester. Thank you Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli! </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After 3 months of lectures, this semester is finally coming to an end. Throughout these 12 weeks course, we were taught by two lecturers (Dr Tazli and Dr Wahyu). We had our first class on the 7<sup>th</sup> of January where we learnt about eh introduction of this chapter .For the second week, we learnt about unit conversion and process unit. In the third week, we learnt about mass balance and how to solve it.In week 4, it was CNY holiday and we had only 1 class where Dr Wahyu revised on mass balance. In week 5, we were introduced to recycle and bypass process in mass balance. In week 6, we just finished our test 1 and we were introduced to mass balance in reactive system, In week 7, Dr Tazli took over our class and we learnt about single phase systems. In week 8, we covered the last part of chapter 5 and entered chapter 6. We learnt about the 3 equations involved in non ideal gas law and had a Q&amp;A session. For week 9, we finished energy balance and learnt about enthalpy change using different ways. We also covered the non reactive system for both open and closed system. In week 10, we learnt about energy balance in non reactive system. We also learnt about reference point and we did a brainstorming session on it.In week 11, it was the MCO week and we were required to study from home. So, our test 2 was changed to a take home test. Throughout the MCO period,I did some self study as well as online classes by Dr Tazli.I also looked through past year papers so that I can be prepared for the extended assignment.We covered a total of 9 chapters and to be honest, it was not easy for me. This is the first time that I have been introduced to this subject, so it takes time to be familiarized with this subject so there is always a feeling of worried or nervous before entering the class. But thanks to the dedication of both lecturers that they have shown throughout this course, this subject got more and more interesting as time goes and we were more passionate to attend lectures. One good experience that I had was being called to answer a question, this made me realise that class participation is very important. Dr Tazli always stress that the teaching method should be changed into a more active learning method and I agree on this because we won’t learn everything just by looking at slides and listening to lectures. So, we need to have the effort to think outside the box and do some self study as well as participate in class. Overall, it has been a good experience for me and now I know what to expect in the next couple of years as a chemical engineering student. As the last reflection of this semester, I would like to thank both Dr Tazli and Dr Wahyu once again for the effort and dedication to teach us.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Throughout this whole semester, i found out that PCE has been the subject that opens my eyes to the real engineering world, i feel like what we learn in PCE will really be applied when it comes to working later, in PCE, u have learnt a lot, which includes methods to change units, and also the roles of a chemical engineer. Besides that, i qlso learned about mass balance for reactive and non reactive systems which is an important aspect when it comes to real life engineering. Furthermore, i learned about energy balances for reactive and unreactive systems as well and i can finally understand how energy changes in a process. Aspects regarding single phase and multiphase systems were also one of the things i learned. Throughout the whole learning process in one semester, we did lots of exercises to improve our understanding on all the different topics related to PCE. Both lecturers were extremely good in teaching. In a nutshell, i enjoyed this subject so much. That is all! </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Its the end of this semester and we were taught by Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for this course which is Principle Of Chemical Engineering.On our first class, we given an introduction about the first chapter and the other week was about conversion unit and process unit.I really appreciate the fact that i finally can really understand how to convert units as i used to have problems with it.We learnt about mass balances on the third week and at first it looked difficult but as time passes by and thanks to Dr Wahyu for the clear explanation that I can really understand how to solve them .We learned more and more up till on week 6 that we had our first test and thanks to Dr Wahyu's good lectures that i was able to get good marks .On the following week,Dr Tazli took over the class and we continued learning with single phase systems.We learned about Chapter 6 on week 8 and it was fun that Dr Tazli likes giving questions that made us fully committed to the course.On week 9,we finished learning about energy balance and learnt about the enthalpy change.On the next following week, we learned about energy balances in non-reactive system.On week 11,there was a MCO going on so we had to go home and did our home test .During the MCO , i studied and go in details especially for the take home test.It honestly took me a few weeks to finalise as I changed a few times for the process .All in all, the chapters are difficult at first but when I study them properly and make exercises, and even find about them on youtube, I understood about them even more and thanks to both Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for being so committed in the class.Dr Wahyu taught us in a fun way while Dr Tazli taught us in an interesting way that we always try to make sure that we're ready to answer the questions before class eventhough I can be quite forgetful sometimes.However, throughout the class,it gave me extra motivation to study more and time is very precious that I have to use them wisely .Also, thanks to our lecturers that gave me a wider view of how an engineering student should be and what is chemical engineering exactly.Once again,thank you to Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for being so committed in this course and for teaching us very clearly!🥰</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Time really flies and Jan semester is nearly coming to an end . Recalling back, i had learnt many new things throughout these few months. For instance, unit dimension &amp; conversion and also the important part i.e. material balance and energy balance for both reactive &amp; non-reactive system. Initially, i thought it'll be an easy subject but the reality is beyond my expectation. Things  are getting tougher and i can't really catch up some time during lecture. However, thanks to lecturers and also my friends, i manage to understand about it now.  For pce, we got  two lecturers teaching us and they have their own teaching style. Sir tazli is more emphasizing on active learning by setting up a forum for discussion and always assigns tasks for us to do. Thanks to our lecturer for the efforts to enhance students' understanding. For now, I'll do more revision and prepare myself for the EA. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>It feels like it was just yesterday i started my second sem of my first year. This semester is a very challenging one for all of us, nonetheless, we made it to the end. First of all i would like to thank Dr. Wahyu and Dr. Tazli for their never ending enthusiasm of teaching and for the knowledge they have given. PCE is a real challenging subject for me, it widened my perspective of chemical engineering and problems chemical engineers face. Throughout this semester, we gain a lot of knowledge through projects and classes. We are able to use lab simulation to conduct our project and it is really fun and fascinating. Overall, this subject taught me a lot about things we will encounter as a chemical engineer and how we overcome it.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Muhammad Ilyas bin Marzuki 18002408<br>Who would've thought that we would be going through such crisis. This whole crisis changed everything including our daily activities including academic activities. Well before all of this happened things were going pretty smoothly. We were preparing for second test for pce and all of that. During that times studies went like usual until the weight of the pandemic was felt. Thats when changed to online classes. To my own opinion the online class is inneffective but as a student we have to make do and go throught it. Its not just us who is affected, lecturer are also affected. Lecturers have to reschedule everything and so on. So yeah that was that and our second test was changed to take home test where i have to construct a question as per given guideline. It was not that bad as it much more flexible marking and long duration. But the sudden change made me unable to adapt quickly and cause me to lose momentum. But in the end i finished it and that was a relieve. Now i have another task which is the EA. Im sure that with the support of my lecturer and friends i am able to make it through. So to summarize, this semester's pce was fun and all but quite worrying as im not sure if i can secure good grades for the semester. Last but no least i want to thank everyone who this course for what it is. It could not have been better any other way</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I can’t believe this semester is coming to an end. Time passes so fast just like the blink of an eye. I think this would be the last reflection I have to do. Over the past 12 weeks of lectures, I really enjoy learning PCE as it’s quite interesting compared to other subject in this semester. In the first six week of the semester, the lectures are all conducted by DR Norwahyu. She managed to teach us four chapters which is the introduction of pce, units and dimension, material balance in reactive and non-reactive process. During the lecture, she always gives us the tips and techniques to solve the questions. The explanation given by Dr Norwahyu is clear and helpful for me to understand the topic. In the last week of her lecture, we did an assignment in pair which is creating 2 questions for material balance in reactive and non-reactive process. The last 6 week for the semester was conducted by Dr Tazli. The way of teaching by him is quite different compared to Dr Norwahyu. I can’t cope with his method in delivering the lecture at first, but I find it amusing since it involves critical thinking. Before explaining the topic, he would give us some readings to understand and we need to submit the things that we’ve learned through the readings, then he would explain everything in the class. The method of teaching that he applies made us do some research and think a lot to find the desired answer and solution instead of just getting the answer from him. Due to the MCO that is currently going on right now, I experienced new things which is virtual learning, online test and the upcoming extended assignment. Dr Tazli also very responsive in answering students’ questions in telegram. It really helps me to have a better understanding after reading all the discussions between Dr Tazli and the students. Overall, I really enjoy learning with both lecturers, and I would like to express my gratitude to both of my lecturers for teaching us who have show a good support to the students. I really hope I would get a good grade for this course. Thankyou.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

I'm glad that i had been given these opportunities to learn pce from both of them. I learnt a lot of new things such as material balance and energy balance for both reactive and non reactive system. To be honest this subject quite challenging for me as I never learn about it before. But, it get more easier to understand with the help from the lecturers and my friends.          <description><![CDATA[<div>It’s almost the end of our semester. For the first 6 weeks of class by Dr Wahyu, we learnt about mass balance in both reactive and non reactive system. Although she mentioned that this is only her second time teaching but I think she had taught us professionally. For the next 6 weeks (or even more) of this course, Due to the Covid-19 situation, we are forced to have online learning class and online assessment. However, Dr Tazli had managed the assessment well by giving us take home test as well as online discussion on the ulearn forum and telegram although I prefer a face to face discussion. However it’s a brand new experience for us. Yesterday we had an online discussion on energy balance in reactive system by comparing both 2 types of method in solving energy balance in reactive system which are heat of reaction and heat of formation method. At first we are all quite blurry of the methods but as Dr Tazli explained to us through voice messages I understand them better now. Exercises are also given in which he will discuss on the next online class. Overall I think PCE is a very interesting subject and I’ve tried to learn it as hard and as effective as I can. Some even called it their dark times. Hence, I know I need to do my best to survive this subject. So my mindset since the first class is I need to always be prepared before coming to class and stay focus. After almost completing this subject, since we only left with extended assignment. I still would say this subject is not easy, but you can make a difference by really put your effort in it. Not to mention to participate actively for group assignment and do your best in any activity during the class or online activities. Its an interesting subject, and im having fun learning it though sometimes its really hard to find time with research work and all.          <description><![CDATA[<div>I can’t believe this semester will end soon. Time flies so fast. For me, I really enjoy learning PCE as it’s interesting subject. I love PCE ever since day 1 of class in second semester. In the first six week of the semester, the lectures are conducted by DR Norwahyu. During the lecture, she always gives us the tips and techniques to solve the questions. The explanation given by Dr Norwahyu is clear and very helpful for me to understand the topic. In the last week of her lecture, we did an assignment in pair which is creating 2 questions for material balance in reactive and non-reactive process. Meanwhile, the last 6 week for the semester was conducted by Dr Tazli. The way of teaching by him is quite different but I find it quite good and challenging since it involves critical thinking. He would give us some readings to understand before class and we need to submit the things that we’ve learned through the readings. Then he would explain everything in the class to make us more understand about energy balance. His method of teaching made us do some research and think a lot to the answer instead of getting the answer from him. Due to the MCO, I experienced new things which is virtual learning, online test and the upcoming extended assignment. Dr Tazli also very responsive in answering students’ questions in telegram. It helps me a lot in understanding topics after reading all the discussions between Dr Tazli and the students. Overall, I really enjoy learning with both lecturers, and I would like to express my gratitude to both of my lecturers for teaching us. Thank you for always be patient and teaching us everyday even weekends. Thank you for giving us your knowledge sir. I really hope I would get a good grade for this course.          <description><![CDATA[<div>When I first glanced on the name 'Principles of Chemical Engineering', I expected more of a memorizing, factual and non-calculating subject so when I was hit with so much of calculations since Chapter 2, I thought to myself, crap, here we go again, I'm not gonna make it in this subject. I couldn't really catch up on the subject but I had one friend who taught me with so much patience and I understood so much in just that 1 mere hour of session with her. From then onwards, I went though exercises and as time went by, I took lesser and lesser time in understanding a certain question and knowing what to do to get the answer required. My dream is to be involved in the manufacturing industry, specifically more towards the pharmaceutical research, medicine and healthcare industry, and I'm glad I was given a chance to fall in love with the subject. What I held on to myself throughout the learning process in PCE was that having average marks doesn't always mean that you suck. Now, I'd rather understand the concept completely, like why should we apply certain equations and how does it relate to getting what we want. I was also very intrigued as to how I would apply the knowledge gotten, if I was entitled with a task, like to still produce enough paracetamol in a low efficiency process situation. There's a lot of emergency situations that will be given as a task to solve for engineers in the career world and I really hope I'm not just paper smart, but also able to think to myself "Eh, I know what to do with the data I have on hand to solve this situation immediately" when I'm working. Thank you, a lottttt of thank you to Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli that were always there to guide us through millions of questions, deep curiosities, and the learning process. Without you guys, I wouldn't had the slightest clue about the significance of learning PCE during my career time, hell, I wouldn't even had know how to  calculate the simplest energy balance. Overall, it was a priceless experience. Not everyone is given a chance to acquire knowledge. I'm grateful.</div>]]></description>

For the first six week of the semester, the class was conducted by Dr Norwahyu. She taught us from Chapter 1 until Chapter 4 without any complaints, and she always explained to us one by one and give us tips on how to solve the questions. And the last 6 weeks of the semester, we were conducted by Dr Tazli. He is so committed to his work and he will make sure that all of us are truly understand what he was teaching. We finally managed to go through all the chapters from Chapter 5 until the end of syllabus for this subject. Dr Tazli also is a very responsive because due to this MCO, we have to do the online learning, online test and online assignment, yet he always answering all the questions that his students keep asking and spamming in the group telegram. Overall, i would like to thank Dr Norwahyu and Dr Tazli for being a REALLY GREAT lecturers to us. Finally, we made it to the end after all the challenges that we faced. Furthermore, the tutorials and extra exercises that have been given by Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli really helped a lot in order for us to understand and get used to what have been taught during the lectures.  Thank you for effort and guidance from both of the lecturers throughout this semester. Furthermore, the assignment and take home test really challenged us to think out of the box apart from just knowing what have been taught during lectures. To be honest, Principles of Chemical Engineering (PCE) is an interesting subject to learn in this semester as it gives us a clearer insight on what a chemical engineer needs to know and how to apply the knowledge in the future. It teaches us the importance of certain topics such as material and energy balance which will be extremely useful in the chemical engineering field. For the first 6 weeks, Dr.Wahyu taught us about mass balance for non-reactive and reactive system. On the other hand, Dr.Tazli handles the remaining weeks for this semester. It is a new experience for us to learn with Dr.Tazli as he encourages us to interact more with our classmates through discussions. I would say it was quite challenging for us at first since it’s something new to us. However, we tried our best to adapt to Dr.Tazli’s way of teaching and found that it’s quite helpful. During RMO, it’s unfortunate that we were unable to attend the classes, but we listened to Dr.Tazli’s lectures through online. Dr.Tazli puts a lot of effort in teaching us although there’s difficulties in creating the videos or assignments online. Taking this opportunity, I would like to thank Dr.Wahyu and Dr.Tazli for putting in a lot of effort and time to convey the useful knowledge to us. It was a little bit chaos at the first week of pandemic. However, we somehow managed to have 10 weeks of physical semester. For the last class, Dr.Tazli conducted the class in telegram, we had a mini quiz, which was a total chaos, everyone so confused that time and it was totally hilarious. For our last class, dr taught us about how to perform energy balance by using heat of formation method. Tbvh, i was totally confused at first, but somehow after a lot of discussions, I managed to grab what im learning about. <br>The first 6 weeks of this semester this subject was taught by Dr. Wahyu, which she is a very sweet person. We learned about performing mass balance for reactive and non-reactive system. Dr.Wahyu did a really great job in explaining how to perform energy balance. Thank you for all your teaching Dr.<br>Then the last 6 weeks were taught by Dr.Tazli. His way if teaching is totally different than other lecturers, in which we all needed to read some materials before entering his class. It's refreshing and it makes my mind to think even more and be more active in the class. Dr. Tazli taught us on how to perform the Energy balance for both reactive and non-reactive system. We had an IcheP Project which requires us to do calculation. The project was quite challenging for me and my team, but we really had fun since it's rare for CE2 students working together with CE1 students, so it was a very refreshing project. We have finished learning all the chapters of the subject Principles of Chemical Engineering (PCE).A very big thank you to Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for teaching us and always giving us advices and guidances to learn and master this subject throughout this 12 weeks. I know that this subject is very important to us as chemical engineers because it is real life related in our future career in chemical engineering. The things that we learnt in PCE are fundamentals in chemical engineering and we will encounter more challenging subjects in futures for our CE studies. I hope that I can encounter them with more patience and master all the skills/knowledge that required by a qualified and capable chemical engineer. By reflecting all the learning experience and information that I obtained from PCE throughout this whole semester, I realized that the main cores of PCE are <strong>material balance and energy balance for  non-reactive or reactive systems</strong>. These two knowledges  are very important as they are useful and can be applied when we get into career in the future. By learning PCE, I have mastered the methods to perform the calculations for the material and energy balance.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Assalamualaikum, so here we are at the end of the semester – never-ending sem haha. From week1 until week6 ; lecture with Dr. Wahyu, she is such a sweet and funny lecturer heheh. At first, we learnt overall about PCE in real life which made me a bit scare on how to adapt this course in addition of what previous students said about PCE being hard ahha. Then, in Chap2 we learnt about unit and dimension conversion which are the basic of all science calculation. After that, we learnt the basic of mass and energy balance calculation such as process unit; separator and reactor. Then, we started with the mass balance in non-reactive system, at first its kinda tricky but after a lot of example we manage to understand it. Later on we tried an advance question about bypass and recycle. Then, we learnt about the mass balance in reactive system, for me this part is a bit hard if we don’t understand the concept of it. Done with Dr. Wahyu. Yet we still met her in week7 to make some clearance in the past topic. Then we met Dr.Tazli, having sir as lecturer make me realise good grade is not everything hahah ; learning it is and seeing how hard you are on ensuring us learn from different source make me so mesmerised you are such a great lecturer. At first, we learnt some of the basic variables of energy balance and the overall picture of the lecture. Then, we learnt about the change in enthalpy in open and closed system in both non-reactive and reactive system. Although we started to learnt the reactive part during the early stage of MCO huhuhu, , so we need to learn using online, everything online  which make us doing ‘extreme sport’ hahaha and don’t forget the Integrated Project, maybe because its our first time so it’s a bit hmmm agonizing but for the sake of  Malaysia, we did it. We do a lot of forum, reading, discussion and examples to ensure we all understand the concept. Im still blur a bit but I am sure I am gonna understand this if I try harder. Thank you sir for everything same to Miss Wahyu, because not only teaching us about the lecture but showing us how the engineering career in real life hehhe.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Long story short. January 2020 Semester has nearly comes to an end. Speaking of Principles of Chemical Engineering (PCE), it is definitely an interesting subject as it introduces us to chemical engineering field. For the first half of the semester, Dr Wahyu is the one who guides us in this subject and for the remaining weeks, Dr Tazli. From the basic unit conversion, perform Degree of Freedom analysis, mass balance in non- reactive system and reactive system to energy balance in non-reactive and reactive system , we have learnt how to apply this knowledge in our real life. For example, by learning energy balance we can calculate the power which required to carry out certain process and calculate the efficiency in certain processes so that we can do some modifications to improve the efficiency of the processes. I would say the questions regrading to material balance and energy balance really rack my brain as I need to do some analysis before drawing the flowchart. However, under the guidance of Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli, I have learnt a lot and get used to what have been taught during the lectures. To be honest, when we first interact with Dr Tazli, I cannot adapt with his teaching style as he always encourages us to think out of a box and he wants us to do online discussions. Times flies and I found that Dr Tazli’s way of teaching has push us to exceed our limits and we have gained a lot. Even though MCO restricts our movements, it does not restrict Dr Tazli’s passion to teach us. Dr Tazli created some videos and conducted online classes to teach us. But it took me sometimes to understand the concept. But I'm happy actually since this is the first subject I actually have a group of closed friends which makes me enjoy this subject more than before. I had so much fun learning tho it can't be deny that to gain something we have to invest something. So in order to gain better understanding, more exercise would be better. I would like to thank both lecturer Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for teaching me.   I do understand why both of you need to push us a bit. due to that reason, I manage to push myself to work more harder and be better. We had two lecturers for PCE and both of them brought their own styles to teach the subject in a fun but also philosophical manner so that we understand. Test 1 was done in utp while Test 2 was not. They were both in different formats but the effect is the asme as they tested our understanding instead of memorizing formulas. Im glad to study PCE this semester to prepare for furthe subjects.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>First of all, I promise that what I responded in SSRT is the same as what I wrote in my reflections. For me, this is our first time writing reflections for every week in this course. Honestly I feel that reflection is a good way to help us to remember clearly what we had learnt for that particular week. I will always forget what I did for the past lectures but because of the reflections I could remember what I learnt and all the class activities. Really thanks to Dr. Wahyu and Dr. Tazli for this initiative. For the past 12 weeks having lectures with DR. Wahyu and Dr. Tazli, I had learnt that the most important components of PCE were the mass balance and energy balance for both non-reactive and reactive systems. At first, I found mass balance difficult as we were new to this course. After learning energy balance I found it more difficult than mass balance. However, I put in a lot of effort to revise the steps and tried to understand the mass balance and energy balance. After studying so hard, I finally managed to understand well both the mass balance and energy balance. In our lives, mass balance and energy balance are truly important especially in chemical plants and industries. Mass balance can help us to determine the amount of input needed for a process in order to achieve the desired amount of output. By doing this, we can reduce chemical and industrial wastes and therefore conserve environmental resources and reduce pollution. While energy balance can help us to determine the factors which will affect the chemical process such as the heat loss to the surroundings and therefore we need to modify the amount of chemicals or the temperature in order to get the product at desired conditions. Besides, using energy balance can help us to determine the minimum power needed to run a process unit so that we can conserve energy by reducing as much as energy lost to the surroundings to maximise the efficiency. Therefore, we can see that both mass balance and energy balance are so important to maximise the production and minimise the cost. We can also do some modifications to the conditions of streams instead of using trials and errors method to get the correct amount of chemicals needed which will cause unnecessary wasting of chemicals. I am really feeling so great having this course which makes me feel the professionalism of a chemical engineer especially in plant design. It is truly a good experience as we really learnt a lot which I think is useful for us to apply in our future one day. Next, due to the outbreak of coronavirus, we were having two weeks of MCO and online lectures and discussions. During the MCO weeks, I had more time to search informations online in order to understand the Integrated Project and finished it before the deadline. Without MCO weeks, I could have no extra time to discuss with my group members and could probably ended up rushing to finish and submit the Integrated Project. For me, Integrated Project is a good project which helps student to better understand the mass balance and energy balance and master the iCON simulation. Besides, I also managed to gather the informations needed and do some research regarding my PCE take home test in order to come out with a question related to our real life and write down the step by step solutions. I am truly grateful that I can finish these two tasks all within the two weeks of MCO. To conclude, learning is a non-ending process. I hope that I can continue to learn as much as possible so that one day in future I can become a professional engineer to contribute to our society and our country. Thank you, Dr. Wahyu and Dr. Tazli for teaching us so dedicatedly by answering all our questions and giving extra knowledges throughout this course. Once again, thank you!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Finally this semester come to end of it after about 3 months. Personally I found that PCE is one of most useful and very engineering related course for this semester. The first half of the semester its kind of easy   Because we only dealing with energy balance but eventually its get harder for the next half of semester. However because of the lecturers great determination and commitment in teaching us I think most of us can cope with it. The assignment also very interesting especially the integrated project, its really open my eyes for the real engineering world. The lessons throughout the weeks also I found very helpful and informative. My suggestion for improving the course is maybe it need more real life example in the lessons. And since the pandemic, the lecturers are very committed in making sure each one of us was not left behind. Although I would prefer written final rather than  online assignments but I really looking foward for it. THANK YOU VERY MUCH :) </div>]]></description>

She is so nice and cheerful. I feel happy and excited when i go to her class as she delivered a lot of knowledge to us until we are understand. Our second lecturer is Dr Tazli. Sir is described as cute by Dr Wahyu when she entered our class for the first time. We were having a lot of active learning during sir's teaching and this let us share and discuss with our friends what we understand about the topic. This is a good learning style as we can help each other. Frankly speaking, it is so tough for me to learn about energy balance. However, after the discussion from sir and friends, i am able to understand about this topic. Sir Tazli is dedicated as sir always shared the knowledge with us online during the mco week. Thank you sir for your hard work for using the online teaching. PCE is a challenging and interesting course as we can learn about knowledge that can appy to our life.          <description><![CDATA[<div>So, I took PCE class in my 2nd semester. The lesson was conducted by Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli throughout the semester. My expectation toward PCE subject was not that high, because im afraid of disappointment. However, I'm glad because it doesn't end like how I expected.  Things are going smoother than I thought. Although, lately I was unable to attend the class due to overslept, with all their might with doing youtube videos and online class session including some exercises after each class helps me a little bit in the subject. However, it could be better if we were provided sufficient time to answer some questions together (answering tutorial with lecturer instead of getting the answers for tutorial during class) would helps us more to tackle the exam question with full marks. Both Dr Tazli and Dr Wahyu had made us doing the assignment of preparing questions and answers for 25Mark each (including the sub-questions). I swear that everytime i failed to attend class is unintentional. Im deeply apologize for that. I like how Dr Tazli made us prepare ourselves by making us to do summary and opinion towards a particular textbook part. But since it was approximately week 10-11, things are getting tight for us and we don't really have much time. I would like to suggest that the materials that we would prefer to right behorehand joining the class is in videos by you (it is better if it could be short and simple) than giving us 2-3 pages of textbook which is hard for us to swallow the words. Regardless what happened, PCE has been nice to me and Im glad that I've been participating in your class all this time. Thanks for your knowledge and time for teaching us. Not to be forgotten your warm assist for us in the progress of completing iChem. Thanks again Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli. Till we meet next time. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Week 12, final week for this semester and in a nutshell of PCE courses before the extended assessment due to MCO. From the first day to the final week it was very challenging for me as a non-engineering student to adapt with the surrounding but at the end, I with my friend survived and thank you both lecturer Dr Norwahyu Jusoh and AP. Dr Mohd Tazli Azizan for the kindness and patience in teaching us. Thus, in this week we are having a QUIZ through telegram its kinda fun but a bit confusing but still happy to attempt, we are learning about the reactive energy balance which consists two methods to solve it. As whole, for me in solving energy balance is quite easy compared to the material balance but both are completing each other cannot choose then haha. PCE as the basic for the engineering not that easy but not that hard, but for me if the lecturer is kind and willing to teach I'm in.          <description><![CDATA[<div>When i first learned this PCE subject which was taught by Dr Wahyu,I can say it quite easy chapters (because I learned harder chapter afterwards 😅).Plus,it was easy since we have been spoon-fed by Dr Wahyu a lot.It is about 6 weeks of being weak students as we not using the true potential of our brain since every answer and explaination were given by Dr Wahyu.But everything changed after week 6,where we were introduced to Dr Tazli.He use very different approaches than Dr Wahyu.He makes us to think a lot.He even asked his student to study beforehand.I know it hard for some people especially me who always rely on lectures.But then,I started to realise that the method he used is for the good sakes of the students.Even though the chapters he taught are harder,he explained it to us thoroughly and as smoothly as it is an easy chapter.He did gave us a lot of side assignment and sometimes I feel it’s like a burden,but I believe,Dr Tazli wanted us to ace this subject.Even he once said and I quote,”I couldn’t even understand this chapter as much as you do now”.Means,deep down,he wanted us to become as smart as him if not more.Thank you for all the knowledges that you have given us.</div>]]></description>

During the first class, I feel very nervous as I do not know what I will be learning about. After few weeks of learning, I found out that this subject is interesting. When I am really into it when solving the problem until I do not know what time is it. The first 6 weeks is about material balance. I learnt about process unit that I might deal with in the future. Dr Wahyu's style of teaching makes me feel very comfortable during class. The explanation for Dr Wahyu is very clear. Then, the next 6 weeks, I learnt about energy balance with Dr Tazli. At first, I am struggling to grab the basic about energy balance. The material that Dr Tazli give is really helping me to understand the topics better. The way Dr Tazli teaching is different from Dr Wahyu. Dr Tazli is more toward active learning. He always give extra info regarding this field as he has lots of experience. I would like to thanks Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for delivering us the knowledge. Every assignment and work given to us is not a burden as I know their intention is to educate the students.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><br>“No matter what your ability is, effort is what ignites that ability and turns it into accomplishment.” - MINDSET by Dr Carol Dweck (p/s this is my favourite quote from my favourite book)<br><br>So here we are, reaching the end of semester 2 with unbearable circumstances. I have made tremendous amount of reflections on what I've had learnt throughout this semester so I will write my journey and experience in learning 'PRINCIPLES OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING'. <br><br>This course was introduced by Dr Wahyu which is the first lecturer conducted the lessons starting from chapter one until four. These four chapters were quite easy compared to the last five chapter. Dr Wahyu is the most energetic and bubbly lecturer I've ever had so far. Other than knowledge, she indirectly taught me how to smile sincerely and try to embrace challenges with a positive mindset. Tbh, I had no idea on why I need to learn this subject. I still remember back then before Dr Wahyu introducing this course, I had an ambiguity towards the job scope of chemical engineer. I did some research about it but it didn't satisfy my expectations. Guess what ?, after she explained chapter one, I managed to plan a rough career pathway but I did not include the heat of vaporisation since there's no change in phases. (ok lawak hambar). Dr Wahyu opened my eyes that there are so many good things happen around us that we could laugh for. Lastly, as your ex student I would to recommend you to teach more basic concepts Dr before we jump into solving real life problems. I hope this recommendation will help you to improve your teaching skills. <br><br>Here we go, for Dr Tazli. After you talked about your experience in education, my reaction was, 'UTP doesn't deserve you Dr' because you graduated from one of the most prestigious colleges in the world. I felt amazed with your answered after I told you my reaction. You said that "it doesn't matter from where you were graduating, but what is the most important in life is your attitude and  <br>perseverance in coping with problems'. I admit it, I wasn't really comfartable with your teaching style at first since I need to get out from my comfort zone by reading all the confusing and stressing pages from the handbooks that you introduced to us. But little did I know that those activities were actually to make us familiar on how to cope up with real life problems as a chemical engineer. There was one time you told me that no need to rush. Everything takes time. I felt like Hiroshima's bomb just fell on me as it made a huge impact towards my mindset. I didn't really have fun-fun journey because the last five chapters were quite hard to understand. Maybe not really hard but too many things to do to solve the questions. You said that you fail in changing your students mindset that study is for knowledge not just for marks. Well I think you can't really say that because you did open our eyes. I mean some of us. I also believe that marks doesn't define my intelligence. Thank you for showing me that EFFORT is the MAIN PILLAR of SUCCESS. As your ex student, I would also like to recommend few things that might improve your teaching skills. Maybe you could talk slowly, let your student digest first because not all students are brave to ask questions in front of their classmates. They also need some time to adjust to a new environment. Second, maybe you could start your first class with explaining more details on why you choose your teaching skills. What is the advantages and give a brief explanation about the handbooks and the contents as some of student doesn't know that kind of book is existed including me. <br><br>All in all, I had so much joy in leaning this course with the both of you. I would like to say THANK YOU SO MUCH from the bottom of my heart for all the lectures and knowledge you had given to us. You guys are amazing lecturers. Thank you for the hard work and everything. Since this is the last reflection so called 'Mega Reflection' so I wanna grab this chance to write out my feelings and my opinions toward the experiences in this semester. It might not fully PCE related btw. For anyone who is reading this, just assume that you're reading this as a story. <br><br>A huge thanks to Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for having this reflection sessions for all the CE students. In my opinion, I do not feel like using this reflection as tool for me to write out what I have learnt and how much I have put in my efforts in scoring PCE. I love writing out reflections to speak out what I feel and what I have gain throughout this course. I love writing reflection so much because it is a platform for me to pour out my emotions for a week, and most importantly, someone will actually read the things that I write. If not, I am just writing out diaries with no one actually understand what I have been through. I couldn't express how much that I appreciate this platform and it should be continued for the our juniors. <br><br>Another semester has past and we are going to have our EA in next few weeks and I'm just gonna say that this semester is a very challenging semester with huge amount of assignments and of course the integrated project that is a tough challenge for all of us but it is great to experience that. It is integrated project that forces me to understand more and do research about certain uncertainties. <br><br>I feel great about the course of Principle of Chemical Engineering and this subject is my favorite due to its similarities to Chemistry. I know it's too late to say that I love Chemistry because I have chosen to study Chemical Engineering. However, throughout this semester, I've realized that chemistry is everywhere and we don't lose or escaped from it. Knowledge is always intertwined and we cannot separate them into parts where we choose to like it or choose to not learning it. So in conclusion, from what I have learnt throughout this semester: <br>Input+Generation-Output-Consumption=Accumulation. Besides, I have also learnt to perform material balances and energy balances for reactive and non-reactive system. It is quite confusing at first but it requires patients to learn. I am satisfied with what I've learnt and I am proud of myself that I've grown up so much in this semester. <br><br>Thanks a lot to Dr Wahyu and to be honest, you're the cutest lecturer that I have ever met. You love to smile and laugh when teaching us. Sense of humor is your strength and you have been such a good lecturer in explaining concepts and traps in solving certain questions. The first 6 weeks are good and I am so happy that we met you as PCE lecturer that makes me fall in love in this subject. A huge thanks to you and I hope that I can see you in the future. <br><br>Thank you Dr Tazli and you're like a father to all the CE students. You love us and we all know that. Although your love is tough, but it is actually tough love that make us stronger and more disciplined. To be honest, I support your way of teaching because I have been forcing myself to do this since foundation. I know that having things prepared for us is not applicable. YOU WANT IT THEN YOU HAVE TO EARN IT. I always believe in that and that is the reason that I feel you're great. For instance, through active learning, I am able to do well in integrated projects and helping other friend when they met problems. Active learning has made me to understand more on energy balances and the equilibrium system. I borrowed textbook and do my extensive reading. Throughout this reading, I have learnt new things that is not even covered in slides such as Kay's rule that uses the pseudocritical constants for calculation of specific molar volume of the mixture of gases. Through text book, I have learnt to use psychometric chart and understanding energy balance in reactive system even before this week. It is so sad that you've been criticized by some of the students due to different perspective of learning methods. It is always tough in introducing a new concept or a new way of method at the beginning because humans are hard to change. Stepping out of the comfort zone is always not easy and this requires time and patience. So don't give up Dr Tazli, I supported you and I believe that one day someday we will become what you always wanted us to become, an independent and an active person in learning and surviving in this society. Under your guidance, I have grown up a lot mentally and psychologically. Thank you for changing my way of thinking toward my life and thank you for your hard work and I truly appreciate it. <br><br>Thank you all for reading this until this very last paragraph. My first impression of Principle of Chemical engineering was it is a very though subject, almost like math with all the formulas and calculation and with a lot of scientific terminologies. All and all i do not regret learning this subject because i think as a chemical engineer we need a lot of basic understanding on the principles of CE. To be honest I wouldn`t be able to understand this subject without the aid of Mr Tazli and Mr Moniruzaman sorry if i spelled the names wrong.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Throughout this whole semester, I've come to a conclusion that PCE is a really tough subject. It require lots of understanding along with a great passion and motivation to learn it in order to fully grasp the concept of this subject. Our lecturer, Dr. Wahyu and Dr. Tazli both did a great work in teaching us. If it were not for them, I don't think I'll be able to understand this well. Reading again all the reflections I've done before, I realised that it really helps a lot to write down what we learnt so that we are able to recall what we learnt previously. Both lecturer used a different method in teaching. Dr. Wahyu conducted the lecture by doing exercises along with us hence, I'm able to understand how to solve the problems step by step. Thank you so much Dr. Wahyu. For Dr. Tazli, he is very passionate in teaching, he let us to explore the topics by ourselves, he gave us the freedom to point out our own opinions. He gave us reading materials so that we can digest it and discuss what we understand from it. For me, it allows a wider view of knowledge to be learn as everyone has their own thoughts. It can be quite complicated sometimes but it feels so great to learn new things. It is indeed a more difficult way to learn, but i think this is actually what learning is and what a normal student should be doing, learning and explore on their own. Although it's a little bit tiring because it requires me to think a lot but at the end, I'm having a great time learning with him. I think, Dr. Tazli is very creative in his way of teaching. That kind of teaching is still new to me, hence to adapt to it, it requires some time. However, this kind of approach is very fresh and truly sparks my curiosity on energy balance to understand it better. What I can summaries from this subject I learnt throughout this semester is, firstly, we have a lot of different process unit happening in a system that requires material and energy balance in order to determine the power consumption of the entire process, the energy required to maintain substances at required temperature and pressure, to avoid loss, and to make sure the process can occur. Along with unit conversions which is very important hence we learnt it in the first chapter. Other than that, I learnt how to use to the iCON lab simulation. I'm very impressed with the simulation program and it was a great experience to learn that and to be able to finish a whole report on the Integrated Project which involved iCON. Although the project is honestly really difficult, but we truly can learn a lot from doing it. It really helps me to understand the subject better. Thank you so much for all your hardwork sir !          <description><![CDATA[<div>To start with this last reflection, I really wanted to thank to both PCE lecturers: Dr. Tazli and Nurwahyu for guiding us through the whole semester eventhough we are in the middle of battling a pandemic. FYI, by having reflection every week after going through the course is a new thing to me and I must say it is a good approach as we as students need to recall back the lessons we have been through back then in the classes. Recall back, AKA revision and revision = remembering. Though I suck quite a lot in numbers and tend to forget the necessary steps/calculations, this reflection approach does help even for a bit. Throughout the whole semester, I learnt the most important part from learning PCE is to be able to master both mass balance and energy balance. I always know this course is one of the toughest course in chemical enginneering and this really hits me as I am not from engineering background. I believe most student will agree with me stating that energy balance is harder to master as compared to mass balance. Though this is true, to me understanding the question is always crucial before we jump into either mass or energy balances and to be honest, I really suck to this kind of thing. However, the best is the one who presevere right? I dont know if I have presevered enough for a master student but I will for sure to throw everything I have got. With other PG students who always there to help me, with resources from lecturers, the videos, even the audio notes from telegram, I believe if not all but some of it already got me there in the way to master both mass and energy balances. Learning something as crucial as mass and energy balances, I believe these will help me for my future endeavors particularly if I work in industry. Knowing the benefits and advantages of mastering this, it will surely help when the time comes even I cannot pass with flying colours. It is the experience and knowledge that will sustain. For the last week of lectures through online learning (due to Covid-19 and MCO), to be honest, it was a great time to dig for resources and to do revision to master the course. That week was so hectic since we need to complete the Integrated Project as well as the Take Home Test (THT). Though some might think that we have given a lot of times to complete the assignments, for me a PG student, we still need to focus to other things as well and I am truly sorry if my assignments are not that good. All in all, though it seems the toughest subject to me, it is a good exposure to me nonetheless. I hope I can master this and will treasure the beauty of this lesson thoughout the my life time. Thank you, Dr. Wahyu and Dr. Tazli for non-stopping guidance and endurance to teach us this far. I am sorry on behalf all of students who might cause both of you sadness, dissappointing and the feeling of appalled.          <description><![CDATA[<div>This semester has been very interesting and challenging for me. For the first half of the semester, we had Dr Norwahyu as our lecturer. Her scope of lectures were regarding mass balance topics. The earlier chapter was not that hard for us to catch up on. But I soon realized that the level of difficulties increased as we progress further. Dr Norwahyu gave us a lot of practices to help us understand the chapters better and it certainly helped us. I really enjoyed Dr. Norwahyu's lectures and the way she made sure that we all understand the topics. For the next half of the semester, we had Dr. Tazli as our lecturer. His scope of lectures were regarding energy balance topics. Dr Tazli’s way of teaching was different from Dr Norwahyu. He leaned more towards wanting us to understand the topics thoroughly by doing our own research and readings rather than doing exercises. It took me a while to get adjusted to his style of teaching and I struggled quite a bit because energy balance topics were really challenging for me. But eventually I got a hold of it and I realized that being out of my comfort zone made me discover more things. I gained extra knowledge by doing my own research and I understood the reasoning behind all the calculations that we made rather than just blatantly writing out the equations. The integrated project and take home test really made me push my limit further. I am grateful that Dr Tazli did his best in delivering his knowledge to us despite the MCO. Throughout this journey, I had a lot of set backs but knowing that both lecturers gave their best to delivery their knowledge, I tried my best learning and I am sorry if I as a student, lacked in any ways. Lastly, I am truly thankful for both lecturers for doing their best despite the hard circumstances that we face now. Hopefully everyone is doing fine and stay safe!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This semester is about to end and it is the last time to write PCE reflection. A big thanks to Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for teaching us PCE. I have learnt a lot from this subject. At first, we learned the introduction for chemical engineering, unit and dimension conversion and the mass energy balance in non-reactive system and reactive system, which are taught by Dr Wahyu. The mass energy balance seems like a bit difficult for me. But, after Dr Wahyu taught us in an interesting way and giving us some example on mass balance, I started to understand it. Dr Wahyu is kind, sweet and good lecturer. I don’t feel stress at class and can learn well because she likes to smile. After that, we learned about the energy balance in non-reactive and reactive system, which are taught by Dr Tazli. Dr Tazli is a good lecturer and he told us that marks is not everything. The important is learning. It makes me to think more actively. Dr Tazli also told us to search for different sources of material to get the knowledge, not just from the lecture notes and lecturer. It was good as I went through other material than the lecture notes. I searched the PCE information online and learned some additional knowledge through watching some videos. Because of the MCO, it is also my first time to have lecture through Zoom and have discussion through Telegram. It is a special experience for me. For the integrated project, I understand the mass and energy balance more clearly because the manual calculation part is so hard. To complete the manual calculation, I need to really master the mass and energy balance. After learning mass and energy balance, I know that mass and energy balance is important for us as a chemical engineer. By doing mass balance, we can know the amount needed for the reaction to take place and have a better assumption for the amount of input needed. For the energy balance, we can have a better estimation of the power needed for the reaction to take place by calculating the heat losses by the system. Besides, we can minimize the cost by doing some modification on it. Once again, thank you Dr Tazli and Dr Wahyu. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Oh well, in a glimpse of an eye, the semester is almost coming to an end. Time waits for no man. Honestly speaking, this semester has truely exhaust me until I have not enough sleep almost every day. The reason to that is I couldn't understand what the lecturers are teaching in class, and for that I took extra effort to go through study materials other than lecture slides. Yeap, from the start of degree, these are the extra steps I have to take to understand a certain subject. Why do I say 'extra' is because during foundation I was so used to lecturer's spoonfeeding. Study textbook by myself is truely a big transition from foundation to degree. Even though it's tiring, but I will still continue the effort because not everything is easy. Taking an advice from my mum, "yes, exam results show how hard a person has worked, but it does not secure a bright future. A bright future depends on the continuous effort a person has put into his own life". Coming back to PCE, the subject is exactly the same. All the topics are interrelated, in order to master the whole subject, continuous understanding from chapter to chapter is required. If you stop halfway, you will have a hard time to master the ending chapters. That happened to me. However, I took extra effort and time to understand the concept from its root, slowly but steadily. Surely, first year second semester will be carved into my memories forever because it is undeniably the most special occasion we have ever had so far. Due to MCO, everything stopped halfway and suddenly digitalised. For someone who stopped tipping into the electronics for years, I indeed found a hard time to do everything digitally. When there's a will, there's always a way amirite XD. Anyways, PCE is indeed a challenging subject. It all thanks to supporting friends and lecturers who untiringly help me in my journey. I look forward forward to more challanges ahead as the saying goes "Pressure makes diamonds".</div>]]></description>

At first, the examples of unit conversion in the slides are quite difficult for me but I can apply it after that. Then, I learnt how to calculate D.O.F, wet and dry basis, mass balance and energy balance for non-reactive and reactive system. I would like to thank Dr. Wahyu and Dr. Tazli for teaching us and explaining well to us too. Energy balance is the most difficult part for me, especially for reactive system. Integrated project was also very challenging. Due to MCO, we had online class and discussion together. I think it is good and right that we should asking questions in group so everyone can learn from that and improve together. Reading text book, and active sharing are actually effective in order to enhance our understanding after I really put effort on it. I also realised that I lack of creativity when I did my take home test. This is a great chance indeed for me to know more about myself and what should I improve. Thanks a lot!          <description><![CDATA[<div>Since this semester is about to end, this could be the last PCE reflection by me. Throughout this semester, I have learnt a lot from both Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli. For the first six weeks, Dr Wahyu has briefed us on PCE and taught us on mass balance. I personally think that mass balance for reactive system is more confusing than non-reactive although different approaches were taught to get the final answer. Hence, I have put in much more effort in order to understand well about this topic. As for the other six weeks, Dr Tazli taught us on energy balance. As Dr.Tazli teaching is biased towards active learning, I had an opportunity to read more information on energy balance rather than just from what is provided in the slides. It is a good approach but it took me time to adapt to this method as own research is required and more time will be spent studying a specific topic. However, after getting used to it I realize that I can truly understand the concept of the topic well and even create my own questions like what have been done in take home test. As for the integrated project, I have had a good hands-on experience on the iCON software and realize that each variable plays an important role in the chemical plant. This has proved that the study of material and energy balance are very important especially in industrial field as by calculating it we can control the yield of products and energy consumption and thus improve the efficiency and reduce costing. In a nutshell, I would like to thank both of the lecturers for their guidance and dedicated teachings throughout this semester. I would also study hard in order to score the coming EA.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Well, this semester is almost coming to its end. My journey throughout this semester has been interesting, exhausting and adventurous. Though I have gone through many circumstances but it has been a very thoughtful journey for me. For this semester, I have been taught several big topics for PCE which mainly are Material/Mass Balance and Energy Balance. Material Balance was taught by Dr Wahyu and Energy Balance is taught by Dr Tazli. For material balance, we were taught about how to master the methods of calculating to find out the number of moles, molar flowrate, etc. The methods used for reactive system are different from the method being used for non-reactive system. The methods for reactive system are extent of reaction, molecular species and atomic species. For energy balance, we were taught on how to use the hypothetical path in calculating the energy for both reactive and non-reactive process. For reactive process, we have to methods to use for calculating the energy balance. The methods are heat of reaction and heat of formation. For the conclusion, these few weeks have been tough for most of us since there is a rising in the cases of COVID19, but nevertheless, we are still taught by Dr Tazli through online platform. I might still be confused about a few things. To overcome that, I would surely need to do some exercises on that. I would like to thank both Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for teaching us throughout this semester.</div>]]></description>

Learning PCE allowed me to understand much better about what chemical engineering is about for example calculations of material balancing and energy balance. Although I found this subject rather challenging, it was also pretty interesting. We had two lecturers who guided us in this subject. Dr. Wahyu was the first lecturer and she taught us throughout the first half of the semester. I found her class really helpful and I like the way she teaches. Dr. Wahyu taught many things like converting units, types of process and of course the most challenging part, mass balance in non-reactive and reactive systems. After half of the semester, Dr Tazli came and continued the lectures. He taught us even more stuff such as single and multiphase units and also energy balancing. During the second half of the semester, I felt confuse all the time and was trying really hard to catch up.  There were things to consider for energy balancing. Now, I am preparing for the EA and hopefully I would be able to complete it.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Throughout this very very long semester, I learned a lot of new things from this subject. In the earlier weeks of the semester, I learnt how to use Appendix A for answering questions involving unit conversions and this appendix also helped me a lot for fluid mechanics too. I also learnt about how wide chemical engineering field is. Then, I remember learning about block diagram for various process units which is very important for us to sketch the flowchart in answering material and energy balance questions. Then, I learned about some basic terminologies about process classification and condition before learning about mass balance in non-reactive processes where we learned about DOF, recycle, bypass and also multiple units. For mass balance in reactive systems, there are 3 ways to solve the question, which are extent of reaction (where we also use in energy balance in reactive systems), molecular species and atomic/elemental species balance (also used in energy balance in reactive systems). Basically, there are a lot of new terms that we learned from this section, which are stoichiometric ratio, conversion factor, fractional excess and a lot more. Then, with Dr Tazli, we firstly learned about single-phase systems for non-ideal gases where we learned about critical state and few types of equations of states for non-ideal gases. Then, in vapor-liquid equilibria for multicomponent systems, we recalled about Henry’s Law, Raoult’s Law, using Cox Chart, Antoine equation and more. Then, I learned that energy balance will come with material balance, but not vice versa. To answer energy balance questions, we firstly need to determine whether it is an open/closed system, draw flowcharts, perform mass balance, choose reference states, hypothetical pathways based on info provided in the appendices, inlet-outlet enthalpy table. Then, we perform energy balance calculations. For reactive processes, generally all the steps are much similar, but the reference states for each reactive components are at 25°C and 1atm. We can use either one of heat of reaction or heat of formation method depending on the question given. During MCO, I studied mainly about energy balance as I need to complete the integrated project and we also had online classes with Dr Tazli.          <description><![CDATA[<div>As this semester is coming to an end(hopefully), I would like to extend my gratitude to both Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for delivering PCE course to the best of their abilities. The first 6 weeks were taught by Dr Wahyu which mainly focus on material balance. It serves as an important fundamental knowledge for us to learn the next segment of the course(energy balance) which were then delivered by Dr Tazli in the following 6 weeks. Dr Wahyu was always cheerful when teaching to uplift the dull atmosphere and also to keep the lesson light-hearted. I appreciated this approach because it helped us to not be overwhelmed by difficult questions. Since the first day of Dr Tazli lesson, he had been emphasizing the importance of being resourceful and not to wait to be spoon-fed only. We were able to attend his physical lectures for 4 weeks only as it was cut short due to the Restriction Movement Order. Within the short span of 4 weeks, Dr Tazli tried to provide us with the most materials he could such as textbook excerpts, online videos, lecture slides, mini quizzes and assignments. Even when things were done online, he tried to be as interactive as possible by holding discussion forums on Ulearn and Telegram, taking into account with whatever feedbacks and questions we had. Of course, the learning process was not smooth sailing because there are times that I could not understand the lessons but regardless I still owe my thanks to these lecturers. And not to forget the friends that had helped me with whatever confusion I had throughout this semester. Hopefully, we can ace the coming EA. </div>]]></description>

As saying goes ; “<em>Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards”.</em> Now we know how precious time we spend with Dr Wahyu and Sir Tazli as we got to learn many things from them until we can practically use this knowledge in the future. From Dr Wahyu’s side, I learn many things about material balance such as calculations and types of reaction in the industry. Next, from Dr Tazli’s side, I learn about energy balance of any reaction that occur in the industry. Both of them show their commitment and love teaching us by making each of us can master the subject. As a CE’s student, this Principle of Chemical Engineering subject one of the most important subject to tackle. I don’t really know where this knowledge lead me to but I believe both of them teach us for the better future of our own life. As saying goes; “<em>We always see our worst selves. Our most vulnerable selves. We need someone else to get close enough to tell us we’re wrong. Someone we trust”. </em>Even-though I don’t pay much attention in class but I can eventually understand this subjects as their attention 100 percent are on us as their precious student. As a conclusion, I hope that our beloved PCE’s lecturer be strong as we know they go through many things while teaching us. My idea is they can happily teach student as always they do while making sure we pay attention to their subject.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When i register for this semester, i was very excited because finally some new subject which is pce. for the first class, i remembered getting so confused because we never have two lecturer for one subject so i was a bit worried we couldn't have a close bond. turn out i was wrong because in my personal opinion, we as a class are getting close and the bond between our two lecturer also nice. with dr wahyu, i learned about material balances for reactive and non reactive also introduction to pce. eventhough i have difficulties understanding topic for reactive process, i managed to overcame the hurdle by doing exercise and reading the textbook from irc.after week 6, our lecturer changed to sir tazli. from the first class, i already get the vibe that i will have fun for the next 6 week learning pce(eventhough it turned out to be longer than i expected hehe). i learned energy balances for reactive and non reactive process. in class,   sir gave us many fun activities such as mentimeter and assignment so we can understand better. not only that, i also had my first online class which was very exciting since i have fast internet in utp. for mco weeks, i actually have fun watching the videos in YouTube eventhoughi have internet problem. for the integrated project, i think it challenged us by using our knowledge that we learned in class and doing it for the project.  in conclusion, i have fun learning pce and thank you for both lecturer for putting up with our behaviour and thank you so much for your hardwork and tolerance.</div>]]></description>

Earlier of this sem i still can follow the flow of this course but when start at week 6/7 i got lost because the exhanged of lecturer..its not because the lecturer but i can't handle that kind of situation.. When i try to adapt, the PKP announced ..Yeah. So when at home, im totally cant follow the learning flow(sorry bout that) .With the coverage internet problem here and my mentality since school that at home, cant study, but that are my own mistakes and weaknesses. I think i can score at final exam, but unfortunately we will not have it. So the moral is i ve to change my own attitude and mentality to survive throughout this entire campus life. Pce subject give me such a new experience which help me to improve myself to face the future challenges. This was my first time using 💯 online method to communicate with students, its not easy as for lecturer and student, but i try my best to get well with that method, plus dr tazli not give us time to watch the video as for considering the student with low internet connectivity. Its hard time for me and the others but i try my best . Dr tazli, im really wanna say thank you for all the effort that u have done in order to make us understand, i really appreciate it, at first i got many doubt but u willing to answer thousands of question from me and the others, that really helpful for us to get clear understanding. But after that, I faced the energy balance chapter and again I change my view to this subject back to my initial thought. However, Dr Tazli struggle a lot to help us understand more about this subject, I am grateful. I want to thank both of my lecturer for this subject,  Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for having us this sem.          <description><![CDATA[<div><br>First of all I would like to Thank the Lecturers ( Both you Sir and Madam)  for taking your time and knowledge and share with us in an healthy environment were we felt free to voice our doubts and therefore making the learning process more valuable.  <br>Due to certain circumstances and Situations happening around,  we couldn't finish the Semester in a proper way,  but that Didn't faze Dr. Mohammad , he was still persistent in giving us the tools we needed to complete the semester and for that sir,  I am Thankful,  you fulfilled you duty and now it will be our turn to take those seeds and see the fruits of it as we are to write our EA.  <br>I hope we can do justice to both of your efforts,  I came to Class minimum knowledge in certain chapters and now I can say That I understand and can even write an exam type question,  although it will be hard for me to answer myself.  <br>Overall this semester was different as it was the first time I had had two different lecturers for the same subject,  but nevertheless it was all around insightful.  <br>I still have some difficulties with some chapters that I will and overcome myself,  but if I can't I know I can get help from either my fellow colleagues and the lecturers. <br><br>Thank you for the semester.  Stay well and Safe. </div>]]></description>

Throughout this whole semester, I have to be honest that Principles of Chemical Engineering (PCE) is not easy for an average student like as it involves both facts and calculations. However, it is a part of the learning process and as you said, we as a student can’t only depend of the lecturers and Ulearn. So, I have try to be independent by doing my own self-study by referring to Youtube and website. I feel satisfied and happy once I have understand fully about one topic, by my own. The situation has been a bit tougher also as we are facing the MCO due to covid-19, but thanks to you, we managed to discuss everything online, discussion through forum and conducted the take home test. I even learnt on how to communicate with my coursemates due to being assigned randomly for the Integrated Project. That project gave me a glance of how Chemical Engineering works. We design units by taking everything into account. We need to be ready to face the flaws of our design and to re-do it again. I will take use the whole learning process for this PCE subject and apply to the other subjects in the future as well. Thank you for your hard work and effort for making us ended this semester with a better understanding for this subject. Whatever marks I received at the end of this semester will reflect my effort.          <description><![CDATA[<div>I have nothing much to say or beautiful phrases to put along in this reflection of mine. I just wanted to say, nothing is easy, and nothing comes easy. But we all can make it through perseverance and hardwork. I had my highs and lows studying this subject maybe because it is new to me. I would like to thank both of my lecturers, Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli, who made it possible for me to endure and absorb whatever im learning although sometimes i can be slow. To Dr Tazli, thank you for making me read a lot of paragraphs from the pieces of the textbook you provide us in ulearn. Most of the times i dont understand from the textbook but you never fail to show me and my peers videos and explain to us so that we have better understanding. Whatever that has been taught to me, I try to put it into practice and get familiar with it so that i can apply in future assessments. I learned about energy balance for reactive and non reactive systems and all i can say is that i have better understanding on how energy works and how it changes. Not to mention, I also learned about single phase system and multiphase system. Overall, thank you for teaching all of us, I look forward to our EA. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Can't believe how fast the time flies, and we are at the end of this never ending semester. When I first saw PCE on my subject list for the semester, I have mixed feelings. It was a new subject, so I don't know what to expect. But, thankfully both of PCE's lecturers were very great. We started off our semester with Dr NorWahyu as our lecturer. She taught us on Material Balance. First, she introduced us to the various types of process units. Then. she also introduced us with block diagram, what was it, how to use it and how important it is in solving mass balance problem. Then, we moved to solving mass balance on non reactive system. It was a bit tricky for me as I never encountered such problem before, but after doing a lot of practice, I managed to understand it well. Same goes to the topic mass balance in reactive system where Dr Norwahyu taught us 3 ways on solving it which are extent of reaction, elemental balance and molecular species balance. After 6 weeks with Dr Norwahyu, we met Dr Tazli for the first time. He supposed to teach us all about energy balance. First, Dr Tazli introduced us to the terms that we're going to use in solving energy balance problem. Dr Tazli's method of teaching is quite bit unique I would say because I never really experienced it where active learning was actively use in the class. It was a bit hard for me to adapt with it but I manage to get to use to it along the way. We also have a integrated project where we need to solve both energy and mass balance in a situation that looks like a real life problem. We are having a bit difficulties on solving the integrated project since we haven't learn about energy balance at that time. But, Dr Tazli managed to teach us even tho the university was closed for 2 weeks due to RMO. We continued our class after 2 weeks with online class. To be honest, online class was not my favorite. It's hard to understand the lesson when you are not really there in the classroom. But, I tried my best to do all the task given by Dr Tazli so that I can understand the topic well. Due to the RMO, our test have been changed to take home test where we need to designed a set of questions. It's really challenging since we really need to fully understand the topic to come up with a great set of questions. I'm not sure if my questions are up to a high level but I tried my best to complete it. Our finals also has been changed to assignment like exams where we are given 24 hours to complete the task. I never do an extended assignment before so I hope I can do well for it later. But, I really thankful to both Dr Norwahyu and Dr Tazli for teaching us very well for this semester despite all the madness that are happening right now. I will try my best for my EA later. I still have to revise the early chapters because I may have forgot some part of it. I.ll do more practice and do my best. Thank you again Dr Norwahyu and Dr Tazli! Hope everything will be back to normal soon. Good luck for EA and stay safe everyone! :))</div>]]></description>

And let me start about how grateful I am for having a wonderful lecturer, who teaches us with a great charismatic aura. Dr. Tazli is seriously a one in a million lecturer because I have never seen a more dedicated lecturer like him. And this is my honest opinion from a student who is taking PCE for the second time. I have never been more interested on energy balance lessons and I'm curious to learn more. This subject is not only interesting, but really is the core introduction to Chemical Engineering. Sadly, I went through a really bad phase last semester, and PCE was really hard to catch up. I can honestly say, this time I'm really lucky to retake this subject and having to learn from a wonderful lecturer like him. Right now, I really wish Dr. Tazli could teach my upcoming semester subjects or least wish I could meet another good lecturer like him. Thank you so much!          <description><![CDATA[<div>When I first started this second semester, I was pretty excited to learn this subject as I find the name of this subject is interesting yet intimidating. Week after week, I find it not easy but with the guidance of both of our lecturers, Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli, I would say I understand it better and clearer with the materials given in class. I am not fond of asking questions directly because of my hesitation but Dr Tazli really had encouraged us to do so, as he would always say “<em>There is no such thing as stupid questions</em>” and that is an eye opener for me to ask more in future. Despite the fact that Dr Tazli applied active learning in class, somehow we managed to adapt ourselves with it although it’s a different kind of approach but sadly, we had to continue our lessons via online. Take Home Test was quite tough for me as I am not a master nor a person that is full with creativity but I did try my best to complete it. I hope our Extended Assignment is not that hard and we will be able to solve it to pass this subject with flying colours. All in all, I would like to express my gratitude to Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for pouring their hearts out for us throughout this semester, for answering our never-ending questions and we value your determination and hard work to give the best teachings for your students.          <description><![CDATA[<div>It is almost the end of my first year second semester. I had completed all the syllabus in PCE class which is material and energy balance in general. In this 12+ weeks, I had both Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for my PCE class. In the past 11 weeks reflection, I had recorded down what we had learnt. So, in this Mega reflection, I will prefer to share my experience in PCE class during the learning process. I had experienced different teaching style from both my lecturers. And, I also tried to adapt it in my learning process. <br>Dr Wahyu prefer to explain more on the exercise with us so that we are familiar with the solution in solving the problems such as ldoing past year questions and exercises. <br>On the other hand, Dr Tazli prefer to adapt us with the active learning which is summarising the reading materials he gave and doing discussion on Ulearn forum. <br>However, in this 12weeks, it is not very easy for most of us to adapt to both the teaching style of respective lecturers but I had try my very best to manage it somehow, I hope. <br>Dr Tazli's method is more based on theoretical part, which in my opinion, this form of education helps if we completely understood the theory and concept well, we could solve all the problems and even derive our own formula. The keypoint for this method is by asking ourselves "why" at all time. This is important especially for those who wants to be a researcher as curiosity is the starting point in developing new knowledge and this is the reasons why Dr Tazli want us to write down the questions in our mind after reading the materials he gave everytime. Dr Tazli is also trying his best to make us familiar to the active learning in order to develope our critical thinking as he knows that only future generation with critical thinking mindset is possible to develop our country better. <br>Next, Dr Wahyu is more of a practical person. She wants us to be more familiar with the way in problem solving. As we keep repeatedly do exercises, we will also master the chapter by understanding what and how to apply the formula. By repeating on doing exercises, we will always remember the steps on problem solving, aware with those small mistakes that we did before and even can notice whether the value calculated is reasonable or not.This is also important for engineering in industrial plants as we may need to proceed with almost the same calculations every day. <br>I can say, both methods are good learning processes and it will also be better if a student could adapt to both ways. Without theory, we can't solve the practical problem. However, at the same time, without solving practical problem, we can't prove that the theory is true. So, both of the teaching and learning ways play the same important role in our education. <br>Besides, due to COVID-19, we had experience a lot of different assessments such as taking home test, integrated project and so on. All the assessments have their own pros and cons but it is good if it can test the student understanding and match with the course outcome. Lastly, I still need to thank both of the lecturers on paying such a great effort to make me understand about PCE. Thanks to Dr Tazli and Dr Wahyu! </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This semester is finally coming to an end, i swear this is the toughest semester and hopefully i can survive with success. My first impression on PCE is this subject is going to be hard and it's true. Although it is hard, i still find this subject interesting. By learning this subject, it actually helps me to know what chemical engineer really do. As from the first week to 6th week, i got to learn mass balance with Dr. Norwahyu. For me, mass balance is quite hard at the beginning but after doing example from the slides, tutorial, past papers and of course with dr. Norwahyu helps i found it is quite easy actually. Thank you dr. Norwahyu. Then, from week 7 until now, i got to learn energy balance with Dr. Tazli, to be honest, energy balance is harder than mass balance, there's one time, i was clueless throughout the class and i read back the slides and the textbook that dr. Tazli posted in ulearn to help me understand this topic better. And during this mco weeks, dr tazli also taught us energy balance in reactive system through zoom and telegram. I find this e-learning is really helpful during this quarantine time. Thank you dr. Tazli for your efforts to teach us during this mco week. For take home test, thank you sir for giving me a chance to create my own question, even though it's hard i still managed to finish it alhamdulillah. So to sum up, i really had a great time learning PCE with dr. Norwahyu and dr. Tazli and i hope all the things i learned in PCE can be applied when i work later. For the first half, Dr.Wahyu you gave us a clear view on what Chemical Engineers do which i was uncertain since i applied for Chemical Engineering. Thank you so much for that. The way you taught us made me love the subject. For the second half, Dr.Tazli took over. Although it was hard to adapt to such change, i managed to get through it. The way you conduct your lectures was far different from the others. You made us do the thinking instead of showing and reading through the slides which is a good thing. However, we are exposed to the same learning method since our primary school where the teachers/lecturers provide mostly everything for us. Though it was hard and challenging i understood what you are trying to implement and i tried my best to cope up with it. I have missed some of your lectures, which im sorry for that. Thank you for your initiative to conduct online classes due to lockdown and provide materials for us constantly. Im so sorry if i have hurt your feelings or did something wrong.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Our 2<sup>nd</sup> semester is coming to an end, and I’ve been through a lot this sem. First half of the semester was just find before we were struck by this COVID-19 issues. For Principal of Chemical Engineering, we had 2 lecturers this sem. Dr. Wahyu instructed the lectures for the first 6 weeks and then replaced by Dr. Tazli. The initial topics are not really hard and just need some exercises/practices to understand. Gradually, this subject was becoming harder and harder. Most of the problems maybe are from me as I’m not a bright and diligent student who could learn everything by myself. I think learning materials should have more examples with answers. All the steps should be explained in the class so I know why the answers are like this and like that. Maybe we can have some practices like tutorial questions where we have to do by ourselves which will cover the topic with more depth. However, thank you to both lecturers. I need to be more diligent and more hardwork next sem and in the future.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is the last reflection I am going to write for PCE. Before the sem starts, I was so worried about this subject because my seniors have been telling me that PCE is very tough. However, when i entered the first class, I was rather relived because Dr Wahyu is very funny and energetic which makes the class more interesting. To be surprise, I was able to cope with the first few classes which have covered the first 2 topics (introduction to PCE and Units and Dimensions). When it came to mass balance, I was quite lost but luckily Dr Wahyu has guided us step by step and I managed to understand it after doing those exercises. After week 6, Dr Tazli has taken over the class and started to teach us about single phase systems and Multiphase System. I was quite inspired by Dr Tazli's enthusiasm in teaching especially when he emailed us the correct explanation after he had mistakenly told us the wrong one. I also like the discussion forum Dr Tazli's has created because I managed to learn a lot of things that I totally no clue about in the very first place especially for the energy balance part. Wrapping up, I still have little clue about PCE and I believe there are still tons of thing out there about PCE for me to figure out. Both lectures and the students had done good job in trying to dissect PCE and understand it. I have nothing much to say, thank you Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli !<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>This is supposed to be the end of this semester, but here we are in the midst of a pandemic. However, our lives are still revolving around our academic affairs. So, this is addressed as the mega reflection for this whole semester by Dr Tazli. However I think this is gonna be a Giga or Tera reflection hahaha thanks for the prefixes. So, how was this semester for me? Actually, I can divide my experience into two. The first half was with Dr Wahyu. At the beginning of the semester, I was involved in a lot of events and activities. But that didn't stop me from going to her classes, except once I guess hahaha. Dr Wahyu is a good lecturer. Whatever she taught, just entered my head easily. Material balance and energy balance are like the two main pillars of PCE. So, Dr Wahyu helped me to hold ome of the pillars tightly until the foundation is strong. It was great studying with her. Then here comes the second half. We all know mogies have the intense and interesting storyline only in the second part. Same here hahaha thanks to Dr Tazli. His thinking was different compared to other lecturers. (my opinion people, don't judge me hehehe) His way of teaching seems like, he doesn't want us to score marks but score in our future, while working. At first, I couldn't take it because I am so used with the default system where I get the lecture slide and just study until understand and answer questions. But Dr Tazli wanted us to learn more than that. That was so sweet of him actually because he did videos and uploaded them in YouTube to teach us. Coronavirus didn't stop him from teaching us I guess hahaha. Sometimes, I got sleep in his classes ( not sometimes, only once though) and sorry for that sir hahaha. By the way, his teaching in the last time on energy balance made me understand the topic very well. I admit that I would feel exhausted seeing email from dr Tazli to read and summarize a text in ulearn as a part of discussion. But right now, I believe that has helped me at least to grab a small understanding towards energy balance topic. So, in conclusion I can say, PCE was not my favourite subject as I liked Engineering Mathemtics hahaha sorry though. But now, I developed a liking towards this subject actually. My mom used to tell that if you wanna understand a subject, you should like it. And I guess that's what happened here. Thank you to both of my lecturers, my friends Naveen and Kuhan who are my assignment mates, theu would push me all the time to study this subject and that's why I'm here with a n adequate understanding towards PCE.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Assalamualaikum, greetings and hi Sir Tazli and Madam Norwahyu. I really hope y'all are doing just fine during this MCO. Firstly, I wanna thank you for feeding me plenty of knowledge throughout the whole semester. Honestly, I gained so much from your lectures. You helped me grow in so many ways, even my confidence level has increased, thanks to you. Alright, allow me to breeze through all the weeks we had for this semester.<br><br>On the first ever week, I have to admit I was pretty excited jumping into a new course, PCE, fancy name hehe Dr Wahyu made clear to us about what exactly do chemical engineers do in real life which was very fascinating. Moving on to the second week where we had two classes, we learned two chapters that week which were conversion of units and processes units such as adsorption, absorption, humidification and etc. We had  already done all three chapters by the third week. Hence, starting chapter 4 in Week 3. Here, we were introduced to new terminologies such as reactive, non reactive systems, steady, continuous processes and etc. Fourth flew by, we learned and finished the rest of Chapter 4. For Week 5, we did exercises on bypass and recycle processes and we also had quiz. oh and I love this part of the chapter, bypass and recycle processes are fun to solve. We also did Kahoot! quiz alongside a really poor internet connection, at lecture hall D4. Then ofcourse, we had test in week 6 which I had done pretty good on it, all thanks to Doc. I really felt Dr Wahyu made it so easy for us to understand everything she taught.<br><br>Diving into Week 7, with our one and only Sir Tazli, we welcomed Sir with open arms and huge smiles. I gotta say, I sensed some really good vibes outta Dr Tazli hehe and yes Sir taught us some new processes like deposition for Chapter 5. Sir, let me tell you this, your method of teaching and educating us, it works. and why do I say that? Because of this, I remember until this day, you told us, "the easiest way to describe a fluid is that it occupies space and it follows the shape of the container" which is stuck in my head for eternity. I love it so much. Jumping into Week 8, we've got Raoult's Law, Antoine's Equation, Cox Chart, Henry's Law, phase diagrams and many more. Sir, I am still amazed and mind blown on how you managed to teach us all of that in under two hours, and I actually got most of it, of your lectures. In Week 9, Sir taught us on how to solve energy balance problems and also showed us youtube videos regarding heat capacity and specific heat capacity. I also learned on how to use the Tables from the appendices. Those tables are so useful and interesting. Then, we learned the hypothetical pathway in week 10. Can I just say, hypothetical process is actually, really, quite, fun to deal with! hehe Sir explained every step clearly and effortlessly, I got it right away. no joke, Sir trust me. Unfortunately CMO started during Week 11, where I found myself at home, learning and doing more exercises on energy balance. We have reached Week 12 now, I learned and gained a lot, Sir.          <description><![CDATA[<div>I cant believe that this will be the last reflection for this subject. Time has gone by so quickly that I didnt realise it has been 3 months. I can say that this subject is one of the most challenging subject for me. Almost all of what I learnt is a new knowledge. Not only that, this semester, I also experienced a new way in learning the materials. Sir Tazli teach us to read the text and try to understand it by ourselves. Surely, this new method in learning really gives us a hard time but there's always first time for everything. I think that you would not believe me if I say this after what had happened before but I really like the way you want us to realise that learning is not always about getting good grades. I love to learn but when I didnt get a good mark, it really makes me down. I think that Im not good enough and sometimes I just give up. I think this situation can be relate to one of my favourite quotes by Richard Feynman. He said that 'Don't get frightened by not knowing things. I have approximate answers, and possible beliefs, and different degrees of certainty about different things, but I'm not absolutely sure of anything. There are many things I don't know anything about. It doesn't frighten me.' I really admire the way he is not afraid to not knowing things, doing some mistakes and I know not everyone can do that. I hope that in the future I can be brave enough to learn for knowledge and not for the grades. Of course I had a lot of new experience this sem and I want to thank both of the lecturer for giving me that. </div>]]></description>

For example, i have learned unit conversion, calculation for Degree of Freedom (DOF) , mass balance for reactive system and non- reactive system, energy balance for reactive and non-reactive system. Besides, I really enjoy brainstorming lessons in the class. I also like to enroll myself in group discussion and group work during PCE lesson, by sharing knowledge with my friends. As this could strengthen bonds and friendship with my friends other than improve my knowledge. One of the most memorable task in my mind of  this subject is the assignments and take home test. It provides great brainstorming platforms for all of us and boosts our knowledges which could be apply in our daily life. We also experienced new learning style which is online and virtual learning due to the MCO that is currently going on right now. They made this course looks easyyyy even though we know it is a hard subject. After attending most of their lectures it really helped me personally a lot. out of all subject, chemistry is the least i interest in. Not knowing it is also fun to learn to. What is more challenging is that during this MCO week we need to learn via online which is less effective than lecture but Dr Tazli really did a great job helping us understand the topic on the online class. Dr Tazli always remind us that we need to learn for the knowledge not for the grades. By following what he said i can clearly see that it really help me alot in reducing my stress in study because me myself that want to know what im learning hehe. This reflection turned into a diary already. After all of their hardwork on lecturing us it really paid off big thanks to both our Ambitious and hardworking lecturers. I just can’t wait for this semester to end so that I can proceed doing my hobby with peaceful mind without thinking that I need to get things done as quickly as possible. First of all, PCE subject is surely a tough subject from the beginning to the end. This is because all of the topics covered are new things and new concept so it is tough to understand thoroughly. However, I had two amazing and cool lecturers which each of them have different teaching styles. Dr Wahyu is a relax and outgoing lecturers while Sir Tazli is kind of strict but fun at some point as well. Sir Tazli like to use active learning which for me as a slow learner find it hard to get used to it. Maybe because I already used to just absorb whatever the lecturers are teaching in class from high school and that makes me find it hard to accept changes like this. I know that I have to get used to this and get out of my safe zone as when I get a job later I have to figure out things myself as well. Overall, I had learnt a lot of new things which is tough at first but after doing revision and some practices I found that PCE is a fun subject to learn.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Assalamualaikum. Time flies so fast and now we’re near to the end of sem. There are so many new things learnt throughout this sem with Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli. At first, we were exposed to the job scope of chemical engineer and learnt the conversion unit for mass, length, time, temperature and etc. In chapter 3 and 4, we learnt about process units and material balance. Through this chapters, I realized a little bit of reality for chemical engineer to design the small part of power plant. How the process unit works, how the inputs affect outputs, analogies of real power plant, what steps need to be done for calculation in non-reactive and reactive systems are all it started. Moving on to chapter 5 and 6 where there was like a recap from the Pchem subject from the previous semester and addition of new things. We were taught about the properties and concept of theories of ideal and non-ideal gas, Henry’s and Raoult’s law and something like humidity and saturation. Next, the energy balance chapter. Open and closed system, enthalpy and entropy and the ways to calculate the change of enthalpy. This chapter is quite challenging because there are quite many things to be considered such as reference state, hypothethical path, phase change, and the method used in certain scenario. Both lecturers asked us to create and solve question for material and energy balance that I think is quite difficult to relate with the real work problem but somehow it helps to more understand. Same goes with the integrated project where we had to use iCON and did some analysis for the power plant. Honestly, I had my struggle time finishing the project due to some factors and from that also, I started to understand about energy balance. For the teaching style, Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli have their own style and I can see both are very passionate in teaching. Dr Wahyu is nice and Dr Tazli is also nice but because he tries more into active learning, referring book that we’re not usual to so we need time to adapt. And yeah, I can’t depends 100% on lecturers so I need to learn and understand more, do questions and make some discussion because at the end, I’m responsible to my future. Overall, thank you so much Dr Wahyu, Dr Tazli and friends for helping me in learning. All the best in future, everyone! Stay safe too.<br><br></div>]]></description>

Everything was easy at first, then here comes the chapters that made me crazy. I am beyond grateful to have Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli to teach all of us this subject. I would say that the way of teaching from both of them were different and they did a great job in delivering the subject that we manage to digest very well of what they've taught. Dr Wahyu was very nice and friendly to all of us. Me and my other three friends always went to her office to spill out our doubts especially about the last chapter she taught us. As for Dr Tazli, I believe his teaching lessons is hard as we have this Corona and RMO thingy come around at almost the end of this semester. We had an online class through Zoom and did some discussions through Telegram, which was easier. Dr Tazli also recorded some videos, explaining about energy balance for reactive system and posted them on Youtube. For me, these took alot of courage to do as he might gonna face problems with internet connections and all but still, he did it to help us to understand better. For me, PCE was quite an interesting subject but it was also quite hard compared to Fluid Mechanics (as I have always been more interested in FM). Nevertheless, I pushed myself harder for PCE and gradually I have come to like PCE as much as I like FM as I have finally understands all of the concept. I would like to say thank you soooo much to both Dr. Tazli and Dr. Wahyu for teaching us PCE throughout this semester. I thank both of you for your effort and patience while teaching all of us so that we understand the subject fully.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Throughout this semester, I learnt a lot of things. Firstly, I know what happened in the Chemical Engineering plant because of the integrated project that we need to do. I applied the knowledge from the integrated project in the Take Home Test where I wanted to know from where the flow comes. When I saw the question that Dr. Tazli prepared for Test 2 (which he shared in Telegram), I'm very scared because I can't solve anything. I spent a day discussing with my friends who are doing the same question and after that I understood the step taken to come up with the solution. I found it easier to solve energy balance after facing that question. I would like to thank Dr Tazli for sharing that question where I saw the question about "In the real plant, the extra flow must be supplied in order to maintain the outlet temperature". This question is very difficult to solve at first before you gave us the explaination. To summarise my feelings with this subject, it has been up and down. I felt happy when I'm learning Material Balance until the Test 1, and then I felt stress when I learnt Energy Balance because I've a lot of event activities where I couldn't revise what I learnt, making me left behind. I understand only 30% I can say until Dr Tazli gave us Take Home Test, I start to find Youtube on how to solve energy balance, and how the air conditioner works in order to create a question about air-cond. It was very hectic but as the result, I understand that topic. For the upcoming times, I'll always looks things in the positive side like I always do. When the lecturers were giving some pages for us to read, it is for our understanding, not for him. If there's any problem in my learning, I'll always ask my lecturers to get clearer understanding.          <description><![CDATA[<div>I wonder why I felt this semester is really short, probably because this semester is busier compared to before so I was distracted with lots of assignments but I still managed to handle them anyway. As this semester is already at its end, I am going to make few throwbacks on what I have gone through this semester with PCE :) --<br><br>Before going into deeper scope of PCE, I am first exposed to introduction of this subject with its relation to chemical engineering. This gave me a new perception that studying chemical engineering does not mean you will end up being a chemical engineer! Dr Norwahyu taught me the 1st 4 chapters which in my opinion the most important one is material balance. While for the rest of the semester, energy balance is taught by Dr Tazli. Both of them has their own style of teaching. Dr Norwahyu delivered her lecture by guiding us step by step to solve material balance question using slides and tutorial. On the other hand, Dr Tazli provides us external sources of learning such as scanned pages from textbook and we have to review them, later we will have discussion in class. Dr Tazli emphasize on active learning either in class or through online learning. Although it is hard at first, as time goes by, I can get used to active learning. Moreover, I experienced new ways of learning! Both methods are effective. In whatever way, I must say that our understanding is actually depends on ourselves. If we want to gain something, we must find a way whatever it takes. Like what Dr Tazli said, we cannot depend 100% on our lecturers to gain knowledge. So, in the end of this semester I understand what PCE is all about.<br>In addition, THT has given me much much more extra knowledge in the class as I referred to many different sources of content such as youtube and thesis from other universities. Even when I end up on a page that does not even related to what required in THT, I copied and tried to do that particular questions! Integrated project has exposed me on how methanol production plant works and how to use iCON. However, I am really sad as we cannot say goodbye in a proper way as there is MCO to break the chain of COViD 19 so I am taking opportunity to thank you, Dr Tazli for everything that you have taught me and InshaaAllah I will implement your advices in my future especially in my job field. Lastly, thank you very much to both of you, Dr Norwahyu and Dr Tazli!          <description><![CDATA[<div>So I definitely did not expect PCE to be as how it turned out (in a good way) because to be honest I did not have a clue about what we were actually going to learn in this subject but it was way better than I expected. For the first half of the semester when Dr. Wahyu taught us the material balance part, it started off being a little difficult but as we started doing more and more practices, we managed to get the hand of it. Although sometimes I did not really understand why were we even doing it but I watched some youtube videos for explanation to get a better understanding. Dr. Wahyu was a very fun and bubbly lecturer and the way she taught us always made me want to learn more. Although my marks on this subject aren’t as excellent but I was happy that I knew what was going on throughout this subject and was not lost in any part. During the second half of this semester, Dr. Tazli came to teach us about the second part which was mainly the energy balance part. Dr. Tazli’s approach was very different compared to Dr. Wahyu. He gave us a lot of small homeworks before classes so we would understand better before the actual. Although at times, these small works would seem like a huge burden because we were already piled up with so many other assignments, but I think I helped me sooo muchhh while learning about the energy balance part. He would also do some forums on Ulearn where we could ask and answer each other’s doubts and I thought that was very helpful. I really understand energy balance right now because of Dr. Tazli haha thank you very much Dr. I really appreciate your efforts in making us gain knowledge because I really did. For the material/mass balance portion, I was a little lost due to a block in understanding, which indicated a need to study further. After MCO started is when my self discipline is put to the test, where I had to seek knowledge and pore through the textbooks and slides and videos to understand a topic. It is very easy to think of the current period as a long holiday and slack off all day, but there is a need to motivate oneself to overcome the inertia to get up and study. Through this course, I learnt how to seek knowledge on my own, hoping that it will be sufficient. I also learnt how people have their own agendas and will act accordingly. I also find some of my peers to be appalling in their actions for their own agendas. Thank you to both Profs for educating us.</div>]]></description>

Energy balance has so many and complex ways to solve the problem in non reactive and reactive systems and we need to refer to appendices to solve the problem. Sometimes I am confuse which one should i need to use to solve it. Well, I have learnt so much things through lecturer notes and some additional notes in ulearn help us to explore more about PCE although it is tough. Unfortunately our class need to be online because of rmo due to covid-19, make me harder to understand because i can ask my friend beside me when i don't understand in class but now i have no one beside me.          <description><![CDATA[<div>First of all, I want to thank Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli, two lecturers of PCE in teaching us for this semester and also my friends in teaching me whenever I find difficulties in study!! For me, PCE is a hard subject since the very first class, I felt like my brain doesn’t work well for this subject hahaha, I can still remember I don’t know how to solve a simple question about conversion unit during week 2(?) and then stressing out about it!! I learnt that everything is hard in the beginning, but everything can be solved with hard works and efforts!! Less complaining and more doing will eventually lead us to understand the knowledge! When I thought of this subject, the two things that immediately popped out in my mind is material balance and energy balance! When I first encountered the problems involving these topics, I was so stressed out because the steps seems to be super duper long and complex! However, as I got to understand the concept and the idea, I can solve the problem already. I also realised that my way of learning thing is to pay attention to what lectures said in the class and also WRITE down notes!! Anyway, because of this MCO, lectures have been uploaded on YouTube which I think is good because if I can’t catch up some parts, I can keep on pausing and then rewind and then repeat Hahahaha, no need to scare if I tak sempat take notes😂.          <description><![CDATA[<div>I have to admit there so many ups and downs throughout this semester. The first 6 weeks, I learnt about the process units and material balances in reactive and non-reactive system (combustion) with Dr Wahyu. Now that Im at the end of the semester, I feel like I understand at least the fundamentals about the material balances. The tutorials and exercises we did in class had help to enhance my understanding. Then, I learnt about the single and multiphase systems. To be honest, that time Im not sure what is purpose of learning that chapter ( I understand we have the gas laws ) but Im not sure where and when to apply those. But when we were doing the integrated project, we were told that the gases laws are actually used to determine the process unit compositions. ( at least I see one of the examples to apply what I learnt in class ). Then, we continued with energy balances which was hard for me ( at first sight &gt;&lt; ). With the pictures Dr Tazli sent and asked us to read actually I understand more plus the discussion in class. I found the textbook online for free (finally after 11 weeks) and we did study group together to understand more on the energy balance ( because of MCO and i dont really prefer online classes because I myself difficult to focus like that). That's all for my mega reflection. Throughout the course I learnt the fundamentals of MEB. I genuinely apprieciate all the lecturers and their guidances throughout this semester. We had been through so many hardships throughout the semester but at the end i had so much fun of learning the subject. It all started with our first class with Dr Wahyu. Dr Wahyu left a good impressions on that day and made me cant wait to learn more about the subject. I could tell that Dr Wahyu helped me a lot in order to understand the topics in the subject. I understand every topics tht she taught in class and i had no problems in solving the questions as we tried to answer it together in class. Thank you Dr Wahyu for everything, you helped us a lot. However for the second half of semester, the lecturer switched to Dr Tazli. For the first class with you Dr, i could tell that the way you teach us is different from others. Dr Tazli liked to conduct active learning which acquire us to learn and find more about the topics by our own. We had to read few pages of the textbook and do the summarize before the classes begin. At first, i had so much difficulty in order to understand the topics by doing that. It took time for me to adapt the way you teach us. I was so lost tht i cant understand well of wht i learn. But then i realize the way you asked us to find the solution by our own taught me tht i cant always rely on others for the problems that i have. Same goes to when i had a job later, i cant rely on others to make up with a solution to my problem. After all, i managed to understand the topics that we covered which is energy balance by read and understand the materials that you give to us. Thank you Dr Tazli. I could tell that your intention of doing that is all good but then the some students cant adapt to it well as it is new for some of us, including me. For PCE we got to lectures, Mdm Wahyu and Sir Tazli. Both of this lecturers having their own way teaching our class. Mdm Wahyu teachs from chapter 1-3 which more to material balance. She is cheerful and always motivate us that PCE is ez pz although it is hard. I thought tht it had finished but then i realised tht it is just a basic and part of Energy balance which then thought by Sir Tazli. It is quite hard for me to understand Energy balance since Sir Tazli prefer active learning. At first I feel like I kenot catchup but then i realised, active learning do make me keep on questioning why what and how. Just like What sir Tazli comments on our reflection. I guess it is quite interesting also since i feel the real struggle in getting the knowledge. I learn a lot from my friends even from the other uni also cuz majority in utp seems busy to reply my question haha. Im sorry that im not really involved in class or our platform but then, questions from other people really helpful cuz when Sir answer their questions, i also get new things. I prefer Telegram online class compare to zoom because zoom is hard to catch up becoz we cannot see the question and just listen to the answer but in tele, the question can be replied soo it is clear for me to understand the questions and listen to answers from sir Tazli voice note. I hope that everything is good since its quite challenging for the students and lectures this pass few weeks plus the pkp is killing everyone .</div>]]></description>

In addition, I am glad that my friends were able to teach me this subject and share their knowledge.          <description><![CDATA[<div>After 3 months, this semester is finally coming to an end. Throughout these 12 weeks of courses, we had two lecturers which is Dr. Wahyu and Dr. Tazli. We had our first class on the 7th of January where we learned about the introduction of this course. In week 7, Dr. Tazli took over our class and taught us about single-phase systems. In week 8, we covered the last part of chapter 5 and entered chapter 6. However, In week 11, it was the MCO week and we were required to study at home. So, our test 2 was changed to a take-home test. Throughout the MCO period, I did some self-study as well as online classes by Dr. Tazli. I also looked through past year papers so that I can do the take home test and prepare for the extended assignment. We covered a total of 9 chapters and they are not easy as this is the first time I have been introduced to this subject, so it takes time to be familiarized with this subject so there is always a feeling of worried or nervous before entering the class. But thanks to the dedication of both lecturers that they have shown throughout this course, this subject got more and more interesting as time goes and we were more passionate to attend lectures. Dr. Tazli prefers the teaching method to be changed into an active learning method and I agree on this because we won’t learn everything just by looking at slides and listening to lectures. So, we need to have the effort to think outside the box and do some self-study as well as participate in class. Overall, it has been a good experience for me and now I know what to expect in the next couple of years as a chemical engineering student. As the last reflection of this semester,  thanks to both of our lecturers that gave me a wider view of how an engineering student should be and what is chemical engineering exactly. Once again, thank you to Dr. Wahyu and Dr. Tazli for being so committed in this course and for teaching us very clearly.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Alhamdulillah, it is already towards the end of second semester and there is a lot of things that i have learned in this course. First of all, I would like to thanks Dr. Wahyu and Dr Tazli for teaching and helping the class and me a lot in this course.</div><div> </div><div>To begin with, this course roughly can be divided into two parts. First part consist of Introduction to engineering calculations, process and process variables and fundamental of material balance. These three topic tell us about conversion unit, force and weight, mass and volume, flow rate, chemical composition, pressure and temperature. All these are basic in the chemical engineering course. In material balance topic, we were taught about process classification, material balance calculation on non-reactive process, balance on multiple unit process, reycle and bypass, chemical reaction stoichemistry, balance on reactive process and combustion.This topics were taught by Dr Wahyu on the first 6 weeks which is the first part of the semester. <br><br></div><div> And for the next 6 weeks well actually not 6 weeks but due to COVID-19 pandemic the lecture weeks were dragged until this week,we continued with second part which are consist of single phase and multi-phase system,gas laws,energy balance on non-reactive and reactive system.Dr Tazli provided us a lot of stuff such as readings from textbook (we need to do reflection based on our understanding from the readings) and exercises that he asked us to print so that we can discuss in the next class. This help us to understand the fundamentals and concept to solve problems.So starting from week 11,the government announced to lockdown the whole country,it was messed up at that time and everything was digitized.Dr Tazli came up with an idea to do an online class with zoom app and actually it was fun. And for the next few days, Dr Tazli provided us with links of youtube videos that he recorded and did an online class thru Telegram so that if some of us did not get to join due to slow internet connection then they can scroll up the voice messages and the explainations by Dr Tazli in the group.And also not to forget integrated project did help me a lot to understand and learn how to do simulation with iCon app.In this project,we need to apply from chapter 1 until 8 in order to calculate material and energy balance.<br><br></div><div>Finally,by spent my time study in this subject,it is helpful for me in academic learning and in my daily life.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Wow, it still blows my mind of how fast time flies.We are approaching the end of the semester.To be very honest,this is one of the toughest semester I've ever had in UTP so I am glad it is finally coming to an end so I can take a break for a while.<br><br></div><div>For the first half of the semester,our learning process was facilitated by Dr Wahyu.Firstly,we were introduced to the jobscope of a chemical engineer.Afterwards,we learnt about problem solving that involves unit conversion as well as how to draw basic block diagram.Soon after, we learnt about a few process units as well as their working principles.Next,we entered the interesting part of this scourse which is mass balance.This topic is divided into two which is mass balance for non-reactive system and reactive system.Frankly speaking,there were not much differences between these two except that the reactive system requires a few additional steps to solve.<br><br></div><div>Moving forward to the second half of the semester,we were introduced to a new lecturer which is Dr Tazli.Dr Tazli was in charge to facilitate us for the rest of the course.We started off with single phase system and multiphase system.Then,we proceeded to learn about energy balance which consists of close and open system.Just like mass balance, energy balance is also divided to two which is energy balance for non-reactive system as well as reactive system.<br><br></div><div>In a nutshell,I would love to thank both of our lecturers,Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for everything that you've done for us and all the knowledges you have shared.It was an honour to  be your student.I had so much fun learning this course despite all the hard times trying to digest all of the concepts . Who would've thought that the time flies so fast. Throughout the semester, I learned a lot on material and energy balance in general. I did faced some difficulties at the very beginning of the semester because I am not familiar with the concept of MEB. However, with the guidance of Dr. Norwahyu and Dr. Tazli, I can finally get some grasp on the topics that we learned in the class and relate it with real-life application. Other than that, I also learned a lot during the completion of the assignments given by both lecturers especially the integrated project. Not only I gained knowledge on how to apply PCE in real life, but I've also learnt that sometimes we have to make some sacrifices in order to complete the group project especially when we're working with someone that is not close with us. I can’t help but think that this sem is probably the most difficult by far for all of us. This is because we’re being introduced to the real core subjects for chemical engineering. My first impression towards PCE is that its going to be a killer subject and turns out it really is haha. Early in the semester, we were taught by Dr Wahyu. She was a cheerful and laid-back kind of lecturer. Always the happy go lucky one. Dr Wahyu taught us about unit conversion, process units, and mass balances. For mass balance, it has two parts which is for rnon-reactive system and reactive system. It was quite and experience learning mass balance as it’s the beginning of something much harder (incoming energy balance). After that, we changed our lecturer to Dr Tazli. He is very kind and helpful. He really likes using online platforms for discussion such as menti. Although its quite hassling but im sure he did it for his students. Dr Tazli taught us single and multiphase system, energy balance for both non-reactive and reactive system. Due to the pandemic, we could not finish our class properly so he conducted class through ZOOM and Telegram. The topic energy balance itself is so difficult to understand but Dr Tazli did a lot by explaining to us and giving us some text for better understanding. Personally, it really did help me in my battle in conquering energy balance. Thank you so much Dr Tazli and Dr wahyu for everything up till now. Luckily we have nice lecturers who explain very clearly about single detail of the notes to us. Due to MCO we have to stay at home and study online for this course but luckily our lecturer always response to our questions quickly in a very detailed way. Sometimes I found that PCE is hard but thanks for Mdm.Wahyu, Dr.Tazli and my dear friends who always help me in this course.          <description><![CDATA[<div>This semester finally comes to the end. Our first 6 weeks lectures were conducted by Dr Wahyu. I really like the way she deliver the knowledge. She always gave us example and clearly explained the steps in the class. The last 6 weeks (actually more than that) Dr Tazli took over the class. He used active learning in the classroom, we had a lot of discussion in class, and he always gave us materials to read. To be honest, I found it hard at first to actually adapt to this new ways of teaching and learning, but towards the end, I finally understand the benefit of it. However, energy balance still a very hard subtopic for me to score, I literally took few days to fully understand it. We also had an integrated project, where we were required to work in group and solve real chemical engineering problems using ICON. It was a very challenging project for us and alhamdullilah, we managed to submit on time (after a lot corrections, discussions) . Both teachers are amazing and Im so thankful for their passion in teaching and helping us to excel in our study. I hope all the effort pay off and everyone will excel in their final. Thank you so much for the guidance and knowledge, Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli.</div>]]></description>

Throughout the class for this sem i would say, quite challenging for myself especially the class is in the morning. It is hard for me to focus because i’m sleepy. Other than that, I’m fine with it. For active learning, I am bad at it. I’m a type of person that could not think fast as active learning much needed that. And I hardly revised before the class itself. Normally, I would revise after class since I gain the first impression of the topic in class. So it is hard for me to go for active leaning session. Besides that, the articles that you’ve given to us, it is helping. I like that, but I also want Dr to explain itself in the class. So it would be much more clearer compared to discussing it in the forum Ulearn. I focus more in class rather than in ulearn because I’m going to be playful. Especially the calculation, and theory part. Because it causes me so many confusion. I do ask my friends but i like to know more from Dr, yourself. I am also quite slow in learning online or active learning. Sorry for that sir, but I feel that it is better for me to be honest with what I felt. But when I started learning more about this subject, i think that it is really not one of the hardest course but i would say its pretty challenging. Apart from that, i honestly think its really fun to do the calculations in this subject once you know how to do it and its not easy to score if we only keep depending on the lecturer's slide. So its really important to have some research regarding the topics taught to get a deeper understanding, just as what Dr.Tazli advised us.          <description><![CDATA[<div>It's almost the end of semester and honestly this semester is the most chaotic sem i ever had. It's true when they said it is not easy to gain knowledge since we had to go through so many obstacles. From the first week until week 6, the subject was taught by Dr Wahyu. During that time,we learned about how to perform mass balance in reactive and non-reactive system. Although the calculation is quite hard at first, Dr Wahyu always taught us until we really understand each part. For the following weeks, it was taught by Sir Tazli. Honestly, it's hard for me to adapt because Sir Tazli is using different type of approach  to taught us. Most of it, Sir Tazli wanted us to search for additional info regarding energy balance by ourselves. But honestly, all your task regarding energy balance really helps me a lot. As the MCO started, we need to go home and honestly i dont prefer to study at home because i'm too lazy hahah(plus i didnt bring lecture's note). Most of the time, i need to solve the problems alone and for one moment i felt so proud as i can do the energy balance after so many mistakes i made. We also had the integrated project which was really challenging for us. Overall, i really had fun during learning this subject and thankfully i had Dr wahyu and Sir Tazli as my lecturers.  Thank you Dr Wahyu and Sir Tazli and i also want to apologize if i ever made mistake during this sem.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Principle of Chemical Engineering is such a big name, big subject for chemical engineering students need to learn and pass the subject. From the name, I already been terrified of it because I'm not a fast learner, I'm a slow learner plus I easily forget the steps needed to solve the problems. Honestly, until now I still cannot memorise my classmate names especially the girls, but don't worry because once I see your face it will be inside my brain. It's like my brain can take a photo of what I see. The most important thing we need to conquer or mastery in Principle of Chemical Engineering are material balance and energy balance. Also, it can be divided into reactive and non reactive system. Energy balance will come along with Material balance. Frankly, Principles Chemical Engineering will be tough subject if we become lazy student (saya la tu haha ;). Like it or not I did my best to learn from the slides given, asked my friends, and tried my best to go every class helded except if I have appointment with my dentist. I like to spend my time with my friends especially when we walk to the class because eventhough we are men but we like to chit chat while walking and blocking the path from other students coming through. I just hope that I can get the basic in PCE and can apply it while working. Doesn't matter what grade I get as long as I can enjoy my life with my parents, family, my saudara-mara and my friends. For Sir Tazli and Dr. Wahyu, thank you so much for your support in helping us to understand well with lots of example given. However, as the sem progressed, I would say that it is actually not that hard, and if I understand the basic concept, I could answer the questions no matter how the questions was twisted. I do admit that there are times where I had difficulty understanding the topic that we were asked to read on or even after learning it in class, but I truly feel that one was on me. As a student, it is my responsibility to find ways for me to carry out so that I can understand what I have to learn.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Time flies so fast that i couldn't believe it was the end of this semester. Overall i really enjoy my studies in this pce subject as it was so interesting. I am a visual learner and i love this subject so much as it's dealing with that flowchart etc. As a recap through out my journey this sem, for the first 6 weeks pce was conducted by Dr Wahyu. She taught us about the introduction of chemical engineering which from that we know several work and plant that we gonna involve in this platform, the unit and conversion which it's really helpful in aaaall subject to be honest. And then, we move to the main part which is mass balance for non reactive and reactive system. Dr Wahyu teaching was very good and straightforward, many examples we do it together and also other examples she gave us the step so we can easily study and understand the topic. Next, for the second 6 weeks, Dr Tazli took the responsibility to teach us. He taught about the fundamental thingy first, like the pressure, antoine equation etc so that we can understand deeply on how a chemical engineer platform really does.  Then, we move to the energy balance topic, where we were taught using the appendices table. And yeah this energy balance also give us more understanding the system of plant or whatever system really done. It was very interesting. Dr Tazli teaching was quite different from Dr Wahyu as he is more prefer us to dig the textbook by ourselves and explore more as that is the reality that we gonna face at work. Actually this kind of approach get me a little bit slow to understand the topic, but WOW it just give many benefits for me. Like because of Dr Tazli's approach in asking us read the textbook, do research and so on, i understand very well for this subject. The page of the textbook also Dr Tazli gave us the page to ease our reading. I want to put a huge thank you for both of my lecturers, Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for teaching me and my friends with very kind, supportive and didn't ever giving up to make us master the topic. To be honest to compare with any other subjects, I think that this subject is the most that i understand, and i really can relate it with the real chemical engineering field. First of all, I want to say sorry if I have done any wrong, not attend the class or etc.  How should I exactly describe it? I think this semester is probably the most difficult by far for me. Plus, this is the first time I learn about a subject that include in CE core subjects. I thought that this CE subject will be the tough one and my thought was right. I literally struggle in PCE and Fluid subject. At first, for PCE, we were taught by Dr Wahyu. She was a cheerful and laid-back kind of lecturer. Always the happy go lucky one. Dr Wahyu taught us about unit conversion, process units, and mass balances. I think this material balance is quite simple but it actually tricky and it will trap us if we are not alert. After that, Dr Tazli taught us for the energy balanced part for the second period of semester. He is a good lecturer and he will keep explaining to us until we understood the problem. He also encourages us to be eager about knowledges. He does not want his student only to pass the exam without knowing the truth behind the concept. Dr Tazli taught us energy balance for opened and closed system. Unfortunately, because of the pandemic, we could not finish our lecture until the end properly, so he conducted class through zoom and telegram. The energy balance is quite difficult, but Dr Tazli did a lot by explaining to us and giving us some text for better understanding. Plus, he also gave tasks to help us in understanding the concept. Even though there are some people may be not like it but,I know Dr. Tazli gives all the task because he cares about his students. Personally, it really did help me in my in-mastering energy balance. Principle of Chemical Engineering was one of the subjects that I thought was going to be relatively easy. Little did I know, it got way more difficult and I was not prepared for it, as I consider myself a slow learner. However, I do try my best to understand each &amp; every part of the topic by asking friends and referring to the textbook. I’d like to thank everyone that has been helping me whenever I face difficulties in understanding, and also to my groupmates of the Integrated Project. I have never talked to some of them before, however, we managed to work together and finish the project, and I’m very grateful for that. Crisis and problems coming along and we managed to survive in this semester.  Sure, this will be my last reflection for PCE I think. So first and foremost, I would like to thank both Dr Norwahyu and Dr Tazli, who patiently teaching us throughout this semester. For Pce, I really enjoy learning this subject as it quite exciting and fun. The first time I came into the class, I could still remember how Dr Wahyu treat us. She was so kind and really helpful. She taught us from chapter 1 until chapter 4. She was so kind when she always repeat and repeat the answer for us to understand well in the class.The last task she gave us was a pair assignment and we need to make two questions about the mass and material balance. Move on to Dr Tazli, his teaching technique is quite different compare to Dr Wahyu as he like us to do more active learning and critical thinking. At first I was a little bit disagreed about his method, but day by day I started to understand well for this subject. Unfortunately, everything messed up. The pandemic issues had force us to do everyhting in online mode. Luckily, dr Tazli is so proffesional. He teach us by doing a video and also do the online class using Zoom. He was so passionated in his work that it what I like about him. So for overall, what i can say is that this semester teach me a lot not just the academic, but also in every aspects. The most important thing is learning is not about grading, but it's about the knowledge. I hope that I can improve the next sem and lastly I would to applaud our lecturers, dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for teaching us. Sorry and Thank You.</div>]]></description>

For this mega reflection which I will tell you my story of learning Principle Of Chemical Engineering through out this whole semester. First of all during the first six weeks I learnt pce subject with a lecturer named Dr Wahyu. She is the most happy go lucky lecturer ive ever had for now. Through out her lectures there were a lot of laughters and funny stuff that came out of the blue during the lectures. It was fun and nice for me. About the lectures, she was really straight forward in her lectures and very helpful in helping me to understand what she want to delivered in a very simple and straight to the point way which makes me more understand and happy to learn. All this understanding I can apply during the test 1 and alhamdulillah the result was just fine and reached my expectation and target. Overall she is very nice and friendly lecturer and her leactures are very enjoyable and helpful. After the first six weeks passed quickly, we continued pce lecture with a lecturer named Dr Tazli for the next six weeks and the rest weeks. The fun fact is that he was Dr Wahyu’ s lecturer when she was in utp studying chemical engineering for her degree. Dr Tazli is a very friendly lecturer, happy go lucky and full of knowledge. However during his lectures he has different approaches which is we can called it as active learning. Through out my learning, I was given many texts from text book to be read and evaluated and submitted. Other than that we do a lot of discussion in lectures, ulearn and telegram. Sometimes we also have been asked to watch video regarding the lectures and evaluate what we get from the video. Personally, I really enjoy the way the lessons were been delivered but it makes me hard to understand the lessons. I don’t know why maybe it is just bcs im not like other smart student that can find the understandings by themselves. That is my bad la kan cannot understand the way dr delivered the lectures. However I really appreciated dr’s effort to make we read and find the knowledge by ourselves and I do think that all these practices can help us in the future but the problem is lectures is about to give student knowledge and understandings about the subject by doing a lot of exercises together and as the lecturer u have to explain more to us. For me as a lecturers we have to help the students to understand and hear opinion from them to assist them for them to grab the understanding and knowledge. Yeah no doubt that all the readings is good but what is the point of having all of that if finally students cannot grab the understandings and knowledges (I don’t know abt the other student but foe me I really cannot grab the concepts and understandings). I am sorry dr to say this but your lectures really good but I don’t know why I cannot understand them and I found out that it is really hard for me through out the lectures. Maybe this is my bad I right. Overall pce is a fundamental subject that should be delivered to the student the the simple and easy way bcs if the fundamental student don’t understand whta will happen to other more advanced subject right. It is just my opinion and everyone has their own perspectives, nobody should be blamed. Lastly, I want to say thank you very much for all dr’s efforts on helping and delivering the lectures to me. Pray for my success ( ill pray for you too), halalkan segala ilmu and i want to say sorry for all my wrong doings to you whether it is direct or indirect but for sure all the wrong doings are not intentionally (is it correct word phrase for tanpa niat idk huhu). PCE is not an easy subject and neither the others but I think what make you succeed are commitment, eagerness and continuous hardwork. Hence, I am very greatful for the lecturers’ efforts for the class tho I admit I took it for granted. To sum up, this subject really opened my eyes about what chemical engineers do and give a view of chemical engineering industry itself. For me, this subject is really challenging as it become tougher towards the end. However, thanks a lot to Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli and my friends also for helping me out. I learned a lot of new things for this subject. From the introduction of chemical engineering, unit conversion, mass balance for non reactive and reactive system to energy balance for both systems. I believe all of these knowledges will be useful for our future as we will apply all of them in our working lifes. On a sidenot,thanks to Dr Tazli for making us realize to go out of our comfort zone. It is true that in life, we really can't expect all the things will go easy for us. Therefore Dr Tazli always encouraged us to become sourceful instead of just waiting to be given directly to us.          <description><![CDATA[<div>(I'm sorry that it's such a long reflection.)<br><br>Hi. I guess this is the end of the semester before EA. There's a lot that I have learnt throughout this semester with Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli, which both have their own unique ways in teaching us. At first, I'm scared things won't go as what I expected, but we tend to learn things from the hard ways, aren't we? It indeed went opposite from what I expected. But thanks to the guidance of my friends and the lecturers, it went well. Although I did struggle a lot to understand some things. <br><br>Dr Wahyu taught us by guiding us to answer questions step by step, while Dr Tazli lean more toward active learning. He wanted us to think and learn on our own wills. Putting more efforts to seek more knowledge and not by spoon-feeding. I'm okay with either ways, but I was struggling in the week 6 because the changes in teaching method was rather too drastic as one of my weaknesses is I'm not flexible. It takes time for me to adjust myself with the changes. But as time goes by, I gained my momentum back and I feel it was too late as others already have better understanding on the topic that we have learnt. <br><br>However, I'm so grateful for the pages of textbook that Dr Tazli has been shared with us. It really helps me a lot. Trust me, the task you've given me to complete is never a burden. It won't make my life to go haywire. Although I've always completed it a bit late as I'm always slow like a sloth. You see, since I'm in school, I always refer to textbooks. Sometimes, I don't even trust my teachers (I can't help it) because the only thing that I believe is textbooks. As right now, there's too many reference books to refer and I'm at loss. I don't really know where to start. So, thank you for sharing with us some excerpts from the textbook.<br><br>To be honest, whenever I'm trying to solve energy balance, I did my calculation wrongly on the integration of CpdT. I never realised it. Not for once. I even make the same mistakes in the take home test. But, thanks to Dr Tazli for asking us to do an exercise recently, I found out that I was wrong all this while. This is all because I compared my answer with my friends. If not, I wouldn't realize up untill this moment. <br><br>Therefore, what I'm trying to say is both of you have done a lot of things to teach us academically and as something to apply to in the life, whether it's directly or indirectly. I'm so grateful and I appreciated it. I'm really sorry for everything that had happened. Everything that you've said is like a wake up call for me to be a better person. I know it might be difficult for you to make us understand all these topics. After seeing all your efforts such as making video about the topics, find textbook so we can understand more about the topics and give exercises that related to the topics, I am really grateful to have you guys as our PCE lecturer. During MCO, I can feel that it is hard for me to learn all this topics without getting a real teaching from Dr. Tazli. But his efforts doing all the videos and creating a platform through telegram to keep in touch with us, really assist me during this MCO. To sum up, PCE is an interesting subject cause I feel like learning for our future jobs. All aspects of PCE are related to our life as an engineer. My experience learning this subject is a little bit difficlut at first, as a lot of new theories that I need to understand. This subject is not a subject that we can just memorize everything. It requires a full understanding of whole course then we can get to know what this topic is all about. It is fun and I hope this MCO will be over soon cause studying online is harder for me due to my low internet connection and I prefer real teaching compare to virtual teaching. I am sorry for every wrong doings and I hope we can meet again in the future.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>When i went to the first lecture of pce this semester, i have no idea what this class is about at all. Sooner, i found myself liking it after Dr Wahyu briefed us about this course. I have to admit that the chapter covered by Dr. Wahyu is much more easier for me to understand as it only involving simple claculation and the most important thing is to understand the process and system. This shows when i get a pretty good mark for my test 1. When Dr Tazli take turned, i have to admit that i need some time to adjust different approaches of learning by Dr. Tazli. He focused more on the active learning rather than passive learning which is good for us as it force us to think rather than just keep receiving information. The chapter covered by Dr Tazli focused mainly on energy balance and it requires much more calculation and so far i can see myself have no problem to understand it. In overall, this is one of my fav course this semester and i hope that i will ace this subject.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Juggling with the increasing workload and trying my best to keep up with all the news and improving my Malay communication, this semester was the hardest of the two semesters I’ve ever had so far across my time in UTP.<br><br></div><div>Before the second semester commenced, I had asked my seniors regarding the course subjects that I would be taking in this semester. They all said that fluid mechanics would be the hardest. What they forgot to say was principles of chemical engineering would also be quite challenging! Nonetheless, I was blessed with amazing lecturers especially for PCE subject. We had two lecturers, the first half was covered by Dr. Wahyu and the other half by Dr. Tazli. Both executed a very different teaching style. Dr Wahyu was all about grasping the concept and hitting the correct points so we could obtain the highest marks possible in the exam whereas Dr. Tazli was all about learning the concept from various sources, not relying on the lecturer alone. I don’t have problems with both, especially with Dr. Tazli’s teaching style as graduating from international school education system, I am used to this non spoon-feeding, western learning style executed by him. <br><br></div><div>As both lecturers had remarked, PCE is the foundation of the chemical engineering program. All the concepts, topics we learned will serve us well throughout our undergraduate degree years and even during our years as chemical engineers. I personally enjoyed being in the PCE class, taking up discussions and solving problems together that reflects on problems we may encounter in real life as chemical engineers. I would like to express my gratitude to both lecturers for being patient and not giving up on us. Hopefully, I could retain the knowledge I gained and do great in EA and as a chemical engineer in the future. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>For me, this is the toughest semester so far and finally its coming to an end. At the beginning of this semester, I have no idea what PCE is but as time goes by, now I already know what PCE is. For me, PCE is quite tough and challenging but at the same it is also an interesting subject. Before this, my senior once told me that it is difficult to score in PCE and it scares me but when I started to learn PCE, it's not that bad :) For the first six weeks, Dr. Wahyu thought us on material balance that covers both non-reactive and reactive system. Then, for the next 6 weeks (actually it's more than that), Dr. Tazli thought us on energy balance and I need to admit that this is the toughest part in PCE because for me it's more complicated. To overcome this, i did study on my own by watching some youtube channel so that I have better understanding on energy balance. During MCO, we had online classes and online discussion through the zoom and telegram. Besides, Dr. Tazli also has introduced us to online learning where we need to write a reflection every week and sometimes we need to summarize the text provided by him. Then, I found out that this method is very effective as it makes me recalls everything that I have learned throughout the week. I would like to thank both Dr. Wahyu and Dr. Tazli for teaching us this semester ☺️ Looking forward for EA and stay safe everyone !</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My choice of taking chemical engineering was heavily affected by my parents as they are also chemical engineers. Despite so, I don't really understand what chemical engineers do and what is their job scope. This course however has finally taught me what chemical engineers do. Throughout my whole learning experience in PCE, I'd like to first emphasise on what I learnt about. PCE for me is quite an interesting subject. Although it may take some time to understand, it's still doable and acceptable and is not as hard as what people deemed this course to be. Learning about process units, finding its material balance and energy balance intrigues me and makes me wonder how do professional chemical engineers do their job. And it somehow boosts me to study more and be better in what I'm currently pursuing. I have no trouble in understanding this course and may need a few exercises to master few things but everything is okay. In terms of my lecturers, I think Dr. Wahyu and Dr. Tazli did a very good job to educate me and my classmates regarding this. It didn't take me long to understand how to solve material balance. Although, energy balance seems a bit more complex and hard to intepret, but thanks to Dr. Tazli, I manage to find my way through. The active learning that Dr Tazli proposes makes me going. I will constantly find myself making my own research and finding more infos on energy balance that I might not understand - helping me to understand better in this aspect. Other people may not find it suitable, but it did help me to always keep myself going and keep myself busy. It helps me to familiarize myself to make my own research and feed my own curiousity. Overall, I feel like the experience I had this semester is precious. And I enjoyed my time with PCE. Thank you Dr. Wahyu and Dr. Tazli for your amazing efforts in teaching us. I will try to repay both of you in my tests and extended assignment. Thank you very much!</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>To conclude my experience for this whole semester, this is the first time we have two lecturers for one subject. For the material balance part, we learn with Dr. Norwahyu and we learn with Dr. Tazli  for the energy balance part. During the learning of material balance, the mass balance for the reaction system is the hardest topic for me. I am kind of slow when doing calculation. There are many calculations that had to be done in the mass balance for reactive system. But luckily I can practice my calculations again after revising the slides and asking my friends. I still remember that we start our first class for this subject with introduction to chemical engineering from Dr. Norwahyu. At that time, I finally realize what are the roles of a chemical engineer in the real world and I am glad that I feel Chemical Engineering is more interesting after hearing the introduction. We had our last class with Dr. Norwahyu on Wednesday with last topic, the mass balance for reactive system. Dr. Norwahyu always make sure that we understand the examples that she share to us since that is the basic for the topic that we learnt. After revising for test and doing assignment, I kind of understand why Dr. Norwahyu said that mass balance is quiet easy compare. Starting from Week 7, we learn PCE with Dr. Tazli for energy balance part and we also started our integrated project which is related with iCON lab and Fluid Mechanics. During the early weeks of learning with Dr. Tazli, we learn about ideal gas, non-ideal gas, single phase system and multicomponent system. We also learn back about the types of energy, open and closed system and enthalpy change as the basic to solve the energy balance. Dr. Tazli use many methods to teach us and the most interesting part is when he use menti.com to get feedback and opinion from us. The hardest part for me is when we start to learn and calculate the energy balance for non-reactive system. I take some time to understand on how to find the specific enthalpy for each component. Then the hypothetical way add my headache about this topic. But I am so lucky because in the integrated project, I was assigned to calculate the energy balance part. I had to revise all the part for energy balance from the start by using all the materials from Dr. Tazli. I kill two birds with one stone since I manage to finish the integrated project and understand the energy balance. If Dr. Norwahyu give many examples to make us understand, Dr. Tazli give us many text and discussions which kind of hard at first, but really useful when you read again for revision. In conclusion, my experience in learning PCE for this whole semester is quiet messy because I did not study and revise properly, but luckily I manage to catch up with the help from my friends and the materials from both lecturers.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Hello. Frankly speaking, PCE could be the hardest subject in my opinion for this semester as it is one of chemical engineering related subject. In my opinion, it isn’t that difficult, it’s just that you need to work hard on your own for better understanding on every topic. The first half of the semester was okay for me, as the material balance is quite easy, if you totally understand the entire concept and do a lot of practice. When we started to learn the energy balance, I find it quite difficult at first as it is different from energy balance. Also, I also had hard time understanding what was taught as i’m not a fast learner. Even so, I managed to work on my comprehension on energy balance as I tried doing lots of exercises and go through the lecture notes by myself. As I said earlier, it’s not difficult you just need more practice then you’ll be fine. Some of the learning material you provided also help in my self-learning process so I would like to thank you for that. All in all, I hope I can do well for my EA later and i’m sorry if i’ve ever skipped your classes (most probably because i’m sick and i cant get sick leave from Klinik Redza 😢) I want to thank you for teaching us patiently and provided us with learning materials, also online activities to avail our learning process.          <description><![CDATA[<div>As time goes by, we had finally come to the end of this semester. This semester, I have learned a new subject which is the Principle of Chemical Engineering. Initially, before I enter the PCE class, I had no idea about what I learned in this subject. And the worst, I did not do any research to know more about this subject before the semester start. My bad. My senior said that I can score this subject if I can understand it well. Then, we met the first lecturer which is Dr. Wahyu. She always smiles and teaches us cheerfully during class. I think it has brought my passion to learn more about PCE. <br><br>In Dr. Wahyu's class, I learned about Chapter 1: General Introduction, Chapter 2: Units and Dimension, Chapter 3: Process and Process Variables, and lastly Chapter 4: Mass Balance.<br>From Dr. Wahyu, we have learned 4 chapters. At first, chapter 1, 2 and 3 is easy to understand I think. But, it becomes tougher during learning in Chapter 4. It is because it involves many new things and steps. Dr. Wahyu taught us until we fully understand the chapters and it was really helpful to me. It was a little bit sad to change the lecturer after we have done learned until Chapter 4.<br>What I can conclude is that I can fully understand the whole chapters after doing some notes, doing exercises and focus in class. For my way of learning, after the class ends, I will do the notes for each topic learned in class to check my understanding.  Alhamdulillah :)<br><br>In the next class, the lectures were given by Dr. Tazli until the end of the semester. From the start of his class, I thought that I was more prepared to learn the new chapters compared to the first class with Dr. Wahyu. It is because Dr. has exposed to us how the next chapters 5,6 and 7 will be. So, I'm quite ready for it.<br>Compare to the previous class, In Dr. Tazli's class, mainly, we learn about Single Phase System, Ideal gas, Non-Ideal Gas, Multicomponent Equilibria and mainly about energy balance. Like in the class with Dr. Wahyu, I use the same method for me to understand all the subtopics. Even though I'm quite weak to use Dr. Tazli's method in learning PCE, I still apply the method because I know Dr. Tazli must always try many things to make all of his students understand fully the concept of PCE in our life. I have to admit that you are the first lecturer to do that. I respect you so much. You were a great lecturer that I will always remember because of the technique you used. It's quite interesting for all the students to apply the method in our study skills seriously. :)<br><br>I can conclude that with all the teachings from each lecturer, it was really meaningful and helpful for me and all students.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Alhamdullilah, to my surprise, at first, I don't think that I can overcome all the challenges and speculations in this field of chemical engineering (CE) but now, it wasn't that hard at all as my seniors said because to me as long as you put all of your efforts into it, eventually, you will get it and I think I made the right decision to enter this field from the field of civil engineering.<br><br>First and foremost, I would like to thank Dr Norwahyu and Dr Tazli because you taught me a lot of knowledge even though both of your method of teaching is like oil and water as one focuses more on how to answer the questions and the other one focuses more on how to understand the whole concept without having difficulties in it.<br><br>In my opinion, frankly speaking, PCE is not as difficult as they said but rather fun and challenging. Of course, there is the part that makes me confused such as energy balances in the reactive process but now, I think I understand the concept and how to answer the questions regarding the matter. <br><br>Last but not least, <br>I hope that I get the best of results this semester and I hope Dr Norwahyu and Dr Tazli get what they want in life. Plus, I am very grateful to have both of you as my lecturers especially Dr Tazli because he is passionate about teaching in a variety of ways until his student understands even though there are many resistances but he never gave up on us and continue to teach us in his way.          <description><![CDATA[<div>To be very honest among all subjects I'm taking this semester PCE is actually my second favourite. I don't know why but when I started going PCE classes I somehow feel attracted to it. Maybe because comparing it to fluid mechanics pce is somewhat easier for me. The first half of this course which is chapter 1 till material balance is consider easy because I did a lot of practices after class. Then energy balance came in the second half and I started take things lightly as I thought it will be as easy as the previous chapters. I did not do exercises on the chapters like how I did before which I believe resulting in me slacking off the subject for awhile. Dr Tazli then gave us home test which includes energy balance and I got panicked because I don't know much. I started revising on energy balance and I realised that it is not as hard as I thought it was. Probably I would've noticed earlier if I pay attention in classes before but now I've managed to catch up what I missed. Anyway, I would like to thank both Dr Wahyu and Dr Tazli for teaching us PCE. Although I've missed classes at times, both of you are still the one who gave me the knowledge that I'm having right now. So thank you.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The first week, Dr Wahyu told us that she will be teaching mass balance for 6 weeks and Dr Tazli will be teaching energy balance for another 6 weeks. Besides, she introduced briefly about PCE such as CLO, iCON lab and integrated project. After that, she guided us about things that CE do and all of us were inspired. <br>On second week, we covered Chapter 2 which is units and dimensions. We learned conversion of one unit to another units system based on the appendix given. Then, we learned Chapter 3 about process and process variables. Every process unit must have input stream and output stream and also an arrow is important to show the direction of input and output. Dr Wahyu let us form a group of 3 people and each to describe 3 process units, draw schematic diagrams and give examples. <br>In third week, we finished chapter 3 which is about last few process units. We tried examples on how to draw the block diagram in order to master well this topic. After that, we continued Chapter 4, conservation of mass. I learned that in solving mass balance 1.Draw the flowchart 2.Calculate D.O.F. 3.Perform mass balance by solving equations. Then, we do some practices with explanations given by Dr Wahyu in details. <br>During week 4, Dr Wahyu continued with adsorption and absorption unit. For adsorption unit, I learned how to draw the flowchart adsorption unit. If sum of degree of freedom is &gt;0, we are required to use basis calculation to solve the problem. Also, I learned how to find molar flow rate and mole fraction by using basis. While for absorption unit, Dr taught us that if question gives efficiency of process which considered as other equation, we need to solve other equation first. <br>On week 5, we learned about drying units, multiple units, which combined several units in one question and also bypass and recycle. Both bypass and recycle have splitting and mixing point. However, the components mass fraction remains the same in bypass only. Dr gave us a tip that in multiple unit, we need to take the smallest degree of D.O.F to start our solution beforehand. <br>For week 6, we learned about mass balance in reactive system. To calculate D.O.F, we need to consider also the number of chemical equation by adding it. There are 3 methods including extend of reaction, molecular species balance and atomic/element species balance. Dr Wahyu told us that we can use either one that we preferred to solve question in exam. Additional, Dr taught us that we only take oxygen and nitrogen in air for combustion process. <br>On week 7, new lecturer, Dr Tazli continued teaching new chapter which is about single phase system. For ideal gas law, we need to assume gas behave ideally at normal pressure and temperature. When temperature increases, condensation pressure increases, density of vapour increases and density of liquid decreases until both value becomes equal eventually, which means behave identical. Also, I learned that supercritical fluid shows no changing of phase, boiling point of water depends on pressure, unit for reduced parameters are dimensionless and Pitzer acentric factor reflects polarity and shape of molecule. <br>In week 8, we continued learning about Henry's Law (used for mole fraction of components approaches 0) and Rault's Law (used for mole fraction of components approaches 1). Lecturer had introduced new equation to us called Antoine equation and cox chart. We also studied the difference between partial pressure and vapour pressure. In new chapter, we learned 6 forms of energy: work, heat, kinetic energy, potential energy, internal energy and enthalpy. Difference of energy balance between open system and closed system was introduced. <br>During week 9, we learned the difference between heat capacity with specific heat capacity and how to determine Cv=(3/2)nR and Cp=(5/2)nR. For latent heat of fusion and latent heat of vaporisation, temperature remains constant. I know that energy balance must come together with mass balance. To perform energy balance, firstly determine whether it is open or closed system. Then, we need to know which type of energy is involved so that we can easily perform calculation. For delta H, we have 2 ways to determine: empirical formula and steam/reference table. Specific enthalpy can get from table then calculate change in enthalpy value. Besides, I learned that exothermic is generation while endothermic is consumption. <br>For week 10, we understood that from table B5, B6 and B7, we know the specific enthalpy, specific internal energy and specific volume. Value of specific enthalpy is higher due to the formula: H=U+P(delta V). If question involved the change of phases and change in pressure, we need to determine Hypothetical Process Path. We can neglect delta H if change of pressure is &lt;50atm. Besides, lecturer had introduced Kopp’s rule, Trouton’s rule and Watson’s equation.<br>Week 11 and onwards are MCO weeks so we had few online classes. Dr Tazli had continue teaching energy balance for reactive system. I had learnt that we can use any temperature and pressure that we prefer as reference state for non reactive system but we should use 25 degree Celsius and 1 atmospheric pressure as reference state in reactive system. We were introduced to 2 methods to find the energy balance in reative system: Heat of reaction method (where single reaction when heat of formation is known) and Heat of formation method (where multiple reaction or single reaction when heat of formation is not given). Most important thing is heat of formation method depends on elemental species. <br>Throughout this whole semester, I know that PCE is a bit tough for me but the lecturers guided me so well. I’m glad that lecturer provide extra reading materials which help us to understand more about the topic. Besides, I enjoyed active learning and also the interaction between lecturer with us.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Hello sir, throughout this whole semester i had learnt alot of things in pce especially in chapter 4 onwards. Pce is one of the basic subject that every chemical engineering should master on it because it involve the calculations and process unit that we gonna work it in future. As chemical engineering student i had understood well about the all the process unit and the calculations.. In first 6 weeks, Dr wahyu had been teach us about the material balance and so on. I really like the way she teaches us in class and always welcome us a warm smile on her face. This makes a good bonding with us and lecturer. All the knowledge she given is help us in our test 1 as well. After week 6, we get new lecturer to bring us forward for this semester. First i was thought that the lecturer gonna be strict but end up my assumption gone wrong. Sir you really a good kind of person that i ever seen. Always make your students understand that subject you teach, not only understand you make us master in that particular chapter. In last two weeks we couldn't get to attend the class because MCO. And our test two been changed to home test that we should come out with one real life questions. For me this assignment really made me  to understand more about the energy balance part. And our final examination change to EA. I hope everyone of us will get good grades in this subject because your guidance sir and madam. Thank alot. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Can't believe we're in the end of the semester already. It feels like just yesterday that i was being introduced with pce subject. Im gonna miss this subject one day. To be honest, i am a slow learner, i really am. As much as i studied, it never end up well for me. The first time i were introduced to pce, i felt super nervous that i think this is another tough subject, and i were surprised to see how deducated Dr. Tazli was in teaching, sometimes make me think that i should too. Tough, it is, but in life, what isn't? As for my preparation for EA, i watched some videos on youtube and i were advised to find some reference from textbook (im still working on it). Along my journey learning this subject in this semester, it is fun, and it needs thorough understanding as it is the fundamental of chemical engineering. We've gone through a lot this semester and it feels like the longest semester ever with the outbreak, cancellation of final exam, introduction to EA and so on. As this is the last reflection, i would like to take the opportunity to thank Dr Tazli and Dr Norwahyu for the knowledge i gained from them today. I really hope that i'll be able to answer EA well later and to pass this semester. Thankyou</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>First and foremost, i want to thank Dr. Tazli and Dr. Wahyu for all the efforts that had been made for us. At the first, i think this subject would be quite hard as i heard from the seniors that pce quite hard than fm. But throughout this semester, not going to deny, this subject would be the most tough course for this semester but i am enjoying this subject very much. To be honest, i am really excited to learning this subject because this subject more to application to the real life than other subject. When I get into deeper more deeper, i really feel that when we understand more, we will love the knowledge more. However, Sir and Miss, i would like to thank both of you very much for everything. you both give us very best explanation and the efforts that we ourselves can't even be described. we seek for your both forgiveness for our attitude that sometimes give you hard times. the truth is, even i know that my marks would not be that good than others, but i really love this knowledge as i want to study more and even more. Dr. Tazli always said that he want us to love and understand knowledge not just for exam. Even so, i hope i will do my very best more than this sem in the next semester.
