are Love performing, Civil, lie upon the wings of night, gentle,

loving, dark night. All of these are very descriptive and are positive. Night is usually associated with darkness, gloominess and mystery however here Juliet has described the night as loving and gentle which is a contrast to the usual associations with the night.

This shows Romeo lights up the night. the night being

dark and lifeless, Romeo is a change and brings light and excitement to the night. she then follows this with "Come gentle night." Showing she wants Romeo to come as soon as possible and she is waiting for him to light up the night/her life.

virginity that it represents, as the moon is only shown at night.

This shows Juliet as a complete antithesis to Rosaline,

as Juliet wants to hurry up and get rid of her virginity,

but Rosaline wanted to preserve it and therefore

preserve the "night".

'garish', which means 'showy', is used to describe the sun and 'envious' was used to describe the moon,as well as when Juliet told Romeo not to swear by the moon but by himself as he is like God. These references are significant because they have described each other as more important than the celestial bodies, which shows how highly they think of each other.
