I was lucky enough to do this in my old high school, which made it 10 times more interesting, why? because I got to see everything from an entire perspective and with different eyes
I took 2 days off from work every week to be able to do this assignment that became my best and realest experience so far in college. It became one of those situations that actually helped me in the real world, both classes were so welcoming and made me feel like I belonged there. My teachers were both so helpful and willing to advice me with every question about both subjects, students got to know me and at the end of the project felt comfortable asking me questions which was beyond amazing.

I had to ask my boss for an accommodation of my schedule and had to work longer hours on the days I worked just so I could make up for the time I was out.

I was able to make them colorful and add pictures for a better understanding and organization of lessons. 
 Another impact that I believe I had was a help for students in both classes that because of the Hurricane Maria, were forced to leave their lives behind and most importantly, their language. Being fluent in both English and Spanish helped my teachers and students, because even though both of them were Spanish Speakers, Students needed help in specific subjects and chapters and me being there was a support for them

At first, I was dreading the service learning project because I knew it was going to take time and effort that I barely had this semester. I also thought it was going to be boring, complicated and long but ended up helping me in ways I did not even think it could. I decided to split my hours in half for a few reasons. 
The first reason being that I knew both teachers from high school and both played a very important role in my High School life, Mrs. Rauback, the Marine Science teacher, and Mrs. Vincenty, the Spanish AP teacher. These two classes were my first two choices on subjects that I wanted to teach, observing and working with them helped me pick my area of focus and see the classes I took from a different perspective. 
When I found out about the project, the first person that came to mind was Mrs. Rauback, I was taking a marine science course for the second time and I love the subject so much that I thought it was just a perfect Idea to contact her. Before teaching, Marine biology was going to be my major so this became the perfect option.  She was happy to help and knowing I was going to be with someone I knew made me comfortable about the whole experience because truth is, I was terrified. I went to her first and Being in the same hallways as my former Spanish teacher I decided to go to her class just to say hi, but ended up telling her about the Service Learning project and she wanted to help. 
My Spanish teacher was always a support for me during high school, I joined the clubs she was in charged of and got to spend time with her doing service learning, fundraisers and activities to help the club and the members of the Florida State Spanish Conference that I was a part of for two years. Being from a Spanish speaking country, this class was a way to express myself in my native language and always made me feel comfortable. 
     I got to sit on the other side of the classroom, to see classes from a new point of view which was such a great and fun experience, I learned a lot about grading, common core, the life of teachers and their duties and responsibilities that us as students don’t really get to see. Every part of the project was a new and fun experience that I never even thought I was going to be able to experience until later on. From both teachers, I learned many things. To me, this experience was not only helpful to the teachers I worked with and the students that I had the pleasure to meet and help. But mostly a self-discovery and reflective experience. By the end of the hours, I wanted to go more often and did not want it to end.
From this experience I was also offered a place in the Spanish conference as help for teachers and students attending, I got to meet the contestants for this year and share my previous experience and knowledge on the conference as well as help prepare these students and practice for the upcoming event.
