At first, I had a hard time understanding the journal because I barely understood the words. I could only understand the ¼ of it. You can’t blame me, English isn’t my first language! And yes, after doing the assignment, I have finally understood the difference between the two. I could say that this topic was the easiest one that was discussed for this second quarter. Paraphrasing has already been discussed when we were on seventh grade so I have a little bit of knowledge about the topic. Plus, there are hundreds of sites you can use for paraphrasing. But, it is advisable not to use them because if you use it, the results would have ungrammatical phrases. Summarizing was also a part of our topic. I think it is easier to summarize that to paraphrase a text. I am a hundred percent sure that we would be able to use this in our future school activities. Knowing that ValMaSci is a school that does not like plagiarism, the students need to paraphrase and summarize to avoid it.
