         <title>wiping of floors, ceilings &amp; walls</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>general rules when wiping of floors:</strong></p><p><strong>⁃ </strong>position cleaning system trolley so that you move it as little as possible --&gt; to not interrupt air and lift up unwanted particles</p><p>⁃ use mop holder to take out mop head without touching mop head with fingers</p><p>⁃ soak mop with in use solution and wring it out using mop wringer</p><p>⁃ wipe the floor using the figure of 8 method while moving backwards</p><p>⁃ the new wipe should also cover ~25% of the previous wipe</p><p>⁃ always move in a one wipe direction ONLY to prevent dirt particles and pathogens from being left over</p><p>⁃ the right mop direction is indicated on the mop cover</p><p>⁃ wipe slowly and hold mop at 45 degree angle to achieve best results and take good care of your back (ergonomic)</p><p>⁃ DONT wipe rapidly and incorrectly performed figures of 8 can result in wiping gaps</p><p>⁃ rapid wiping action can disturb the air causing unwanted movement of microorganisms and particles</p><p><br></p><p><strong>steps to wipe floor:</strong></p><p>1. start by wiping solid barriers and wipe around them</p><p>2. then continue with floor edges and wipe in a line along the wall, up till the most distant side of the room</p><p>3. then wipe the floor surfaces, moving backwards in figures of 8</p><p>⁃ should the rooms be larger than 10m2, it should be divided into more than 1 working area. with every 10m2 of working area cleaned, change a new mop head. (mop will become stiff after a while)</p><p>⁃&nbsp; the mop <strong>SHOULD NOT</strong> be soaked in the solution again. used mop heads are placed in a lower container and removed from the fastener without touching the mop head.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>general rules to wiping ceilings &amp; walls:</strong></p><p>⁃ very similar to wiping floors</p><p>⁃ elongate telescopic handle of the mop in order to reach every side easily</p><p>⁃ ceilings, walls, floor is the order of disinfection</p><p><br></p><p><strong>steps to wipe ceilings &amp; walls:</strong></p><p>1. wipe edges first</p><p>2. then wipe the surface in figures of 8</p>]]></description>

         <title>The GMP of Cleaning &amp; Disinfecting Cleanrooms</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li><p>Mix the required amount of water and cleaning agent. </p></li><li><p>Carefully remove parts of machinery to avoid scratches and damage, Parts should then be placed out of the clean room and into the reprocessing area.</p></li><li><p>Use a cleaning cloth or monofilament broom to clean floors. Cleaning should be done with slow deliberate movements as not to disturb the soil and cause suspensions to be in the air.</p></li><li><p>Deterioration of equipment should be noted down on lint free paper</p></li><li><p>Worn metal or plastic fillings on tracks or conveyers should be removed. Areas with these fillings should be cleaned thoroughly as to remove any trapped particles. </p></li><li><p>One bucket or two bucket system to mop floors. Two buckets has one bucket containing the fresh solution and the second to rinse the mop. </p></li><li><p>Decontamination spray is released. Operators are to wear necessary protection as fumes can be harmful when inhaled. </p></li><li><p>After 24 hours, area is to be cleaned once more to remove residual fogging solution </p></li><li><p>Document what was done for supervisor to sign off</p></li></ol>]]></description>

         <title>SURFACE CLEANING  </title>

         <title>ADV &amp; DISADV OF DISPOSABLES</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>ADV </p><ol><li><p>plastic disposables are safe, easy to use, does not require sterilization. comparing to glassware, it is less expensive, lighter, tougher --&gt; easier to remove from molds. </p></li><li><p>plastic/disposables is recyclable/wash --&gt; save more money to buy new items. </p></li><li><p>disposable items are also safer to dispose of. Glass can be hazardous as it might break and have many shards that may cause injury during the process of disposal. plastic is also waterproof to prevent any liquid from leaking. </p><p><br></p></li></ol><p><br></p><p>DISADV</p><ol><li><p>disposables are made of plastic which are made of polymers --&gt; susceptible to leaching under high temp. </p></li><li><p>when recycling disposables, if the procedure is not followed strictly, it may have contamination from previous experiment and may cause unreliable result. it may also cause a chemical reaction that may produce toxic gas. thus, it is important that the protocol when recycling disposables is followed strictly.</p></li><li><p>if disposables are not able to recycle or washed, it will create a lot of waste as most of them are plastic. it may harm the environment and contribute to global warming if not properly disposed of. </p></li><li><p>disposables are also easily spoiled which may be quite dangerous when doing experiment especially when handling corrosive reagents. </p></li></ol>]]></description>
