Michael would need extended time to complete assignments. He would also require frequent check-ins by an adult or peer to make sure that he understands the assignment and is focused on completing the work. In addition, Michael may need shortened assessments. If he can show me in 5 problems that he knows how to multiply fractions that may be enough instead of asking him to solve 20 problems.

I would provide assistive technology to Sarah such as voice typing on a Google Doc on an iPad. I would have a paraprofessional scribe for her during writing. Getting her ideas down on paper with assistance may be the priority.

I would provide Denver with preferential seating in the classroom and a separate setting to complete assessments to minimize distractions and increase focus. If headphones with classical music playing helps, that may be an option. I would provide Denver with text at his instructional level.

Provide denver with the accommodation of separate setting and audio for tests. Provide assignments and a modified reading to address instructional level.

I would adapt the workload for Michael so that he has less work to do but is still completing the necessary problems/information to comprehend and learn what the entire class is working on. I also would give him extended time on assignments, quizzes, and tests. He would have the option to take quizzes and tests in the resource room to have less distractions and more time to complete them.

I would allow Sarah to have a touchscreen computer so she could use her non-dominant hand to complete assignments. She would also have the talk to text feature to complete short answers or essay questions on her computer. All of her books will be available on the computer so she can use the touchscreen while reading.
