It focuses on how autism is perceived in different cultures. It also focuses on the challenges that support workers face while supporting culturally diverse families that are navigating an autism diagnosis.

I will be recruiting participants through email from the place where I completed a practicum, an internship and eventually worked at! I plan on using some of my personal and professional networks, as well as Linkedin to help find respondents for my survey. I'm a bit nervous about reaching the amount of responses that I need due to the niche nature of the research but here's hoping! Any feedback is welcome, thanks!

This project explores how virtual volunteer programs can help older adults (65+) with mobility challenges stay connected, reduce isolation, and continue contributing to their communities.

My thesis is that while virtual volunteering holds great potential, these programs are only successful when they are designed with accessibility and digital support in mind. I’m using one-on-one interviews as my main research tool to hear directly from older adults about their experiences, barriers, and ideas for improving virtual volunteering.

This topic is very meaningful to me and has shown me how important it is to create opportunities for seniors to stay engaged and feel valued.

This capstone research project, conducted by Jessica Fred and Evelyn Brown, examines an important issue affecting post-secondary students: food insecurity at Sheridan College.

The study explores how students perceive food insecurity and considers its effects on academic performance, mental health, and overall well-being. The guiding research question is: What are the perceptions of food insecurity among students at Sheridan College? This question helps us understand how food insecurity is experienced, the challenges it creates, and how it may influence both academic and social life.

While food insecurity among students is a growing concern across Canada, it is often overlooked. Previous studies suggest that it is linked to poor diet quality, higher stress levels, and increased mental health concerns, all of which can affect student success. However, little research has been done specifically within the Sheridan College community, making this project timely and relevant.

To explore this issue, we are using a quantitative survey approach to gather information directly from students. The insights gained will contribute to a clearer understanding of food insecurity on campus.

We appreciate your time and participation in this survey, as your input supports this important student-led research.

Hello Everyone!

Above is my poster for my project. The topic of discussion and research is on international students and their mental health as students in Ontario. This topic is extremely important to me as I realized just how hard-working international students are and they deserve some recognition and support with their mental health as they may face complications a bit differently than domestic students. The examination of this matter is not to compare experiences between domestic students and international students, but to understand them and their needs mentally.

I will need 6-10 participants for short survey followed by an interview in which we will explore more in depth about mental health and the services that support international students.

Your participation in this interview and survey are completely within your own comfort. If you do choose to participate it is greatly appreciated as it will help us collect data on what could improve and whether we can bring more awareness to mental health in relation to international students here in Ontario.

Hello everyone, I’m Karisha Wright. My research focuses on the mental health requirements of professionals in their professional fields. This study aims to investigate the challenges these individuals encounter while managing their mental well being and identify the types of support they need.

I will be recruiting participants who are professionals actively working in fields such as social work, healthcare, community engagement, or education.

To participate, you'll need to complete an online survey that takes approximately 15–20 minutes, recruiting 25 people. The survey is anonymously you won't have to provide your name, email address, or any identifiable information. All responses are confidential and you can choose to skip questions or stop participating at any point if you wish.

By sharing your experiences, you will help highlight the realities of mental health needs in professional settings and contribute to research that could enhance access to support and resources for those working in this field.

wrigkari@sheridancollege.ca

I would be grateful for any feedback on my recruitment tools. Thank you!
