For my pinch project my inspiration was the bright beautiful colors from the interesting sea creatures.  My struggles were, this was my first time working with clay and not understanding how wet the paper towels needed to be and how to get the clay to move the way I wanted it to move and stay.  Slip textures was also hard to use because I was not used to the way it moves.  I conquer the struggle by keep on trying and redoing  what was not working.  Everyday I would remove and re-put clay on it.  If I were to redo this project I would use more slip and do more scraffito.  I choses bright colors because that is what caught my eye when I was looking at all the sea creatures, I love all the eye catching colors.

I made a “deer pot” because my spirit animal was a deer.  Some reasons why I relate to a deer is I am shy, kind and a caring person.  I did a deer pot because I did not want to make a whole deer, so I made it in a way so I can put flowers on it’s back.  My made this for my mother.  My struggles were making original coils and then painting the coils.  It was hard putting the glaze in all the small little areas.  My favorite glaze I added was snow, to make it looks like there was snow on my little deer.  If I were to redo this project and for projects to come, I would keep track of all my glazes better.

My ceramics project I am making right now is a vase.  My struggles so far was rolling the slab out and trying  not to make it too thin, than bevel cut and adding on more clay details.  I really like making this project right now because I know understand and get clay.  Also I am taking my knowledge from making the pinch project and coil project and now is using it in the soft slab.  My vase right now has many stars on it because I love star and looking at the sky at night to see the stars.  I am really excited to glaze my project, I have so many ideas on what glazes I will use and all the colors.  I am think I will add on a lot blues and greens.  I am planning on also cutting a star out of the middle but I do not want to cut it out too soon, because it would break my heart if it fell over.

The Showcase was amazing! I brought my mother and younger brother, Billy, who will becoming next year to Foothill.  The projects I put up are Sea Side (pinch project), Dear Deer Pot (my coil project) and Sea Star (my soft slab vase).  My vase being the tallest was put in the back with the two other ones in the front.  Sea Side was on top of a black box to see all the small details and all around all my projects was pink grass.
