The goal is to improve the biggest job-related knowledge graph (taxonomy) in the world.

Big tech companies heavily rely on linguistic profiles to support their engineering teams throughout the development of web, platform, and software features. In addition to possessing a solid understanding of technical requirements beyond Python, candidates are expected to demonstrate proficiency in key areas such as regular expressions, command lines, and markdown. Student arrived at our course with almost no coding experience, but after learning Python skills learned in our year-long Programming for the Humanities module, as well as DH coursework on critical analysis of tech, was hired full time as an Intelligence Analyst for a tech company owned by a major news media company. The student tells me that in the job interview, the employers were particularly impressed by her course work on sentiment analysis and her own student project in NLP for hate speech detection. The student's company is focused on news and social media, providing a number of services such as managing reputational risks, monitoring industry trends, and identifying and confirming the veracity of news on social media.

Most of our Masters students are mid-career with some background in heritage, and many go back to work, often as volunteers, with small museums or galleries. We have had some other notable groups - journalists, often seeking to improve data journalism skills. We also have students who have worked in industry and wanted to apply gamification to training in their firm. We have some students who have gone into pure game design. We also have students who have gone on to work on social media and marketing, and digital identity and branding. Some of these have worked for large forms, some have set up their own consultancies.

Our Master is too ‘young’ to understand post lauream destinations (we started in 2019!). Anyway, we have graduates that work as editorial assistant and data analyst. As a master degree (not only) in digital (but also) in public humanities the larger part of internships we have at the moment (especially of the first yr. students) involve students in the application of the combined expertise in the humanities and technologies to creative and cultural environments where the public can experience and access cultural heritage and artefacts in new and exciting ways. Students are taught how to design, build and implement web resources, they learn how to use digital technologies to manage cultural resources and learn how these skills can be applied to organising public exhibitions and events.

I.e. 1) internship in a Neurohumanities hub for the study of the brain, aesthetics and cultural heritage through digital technologies and neurological tools. For the student this means a great opportunity for engaging the general public in heritage projects through advanced technological interfaces (and aiding in the advancement of research through cutting edge science).

I.e. 2) internship at a ceramics producing company. Why? Because the student was quite interested in the ceramics market and the way they can be used in a sustainable way for house decorations. The company is a billion dollar company and technologically very advanced.
