The phrase '' The Promised Land '' reveals that California represented opportunity, but instead of getting job and opportunities they were getting discriminated and they were struggling. In the text it states '' they came in in droves, eager to find the good life...California appeared to be the Promised Land''. this shows how the migrants were looking for a place to have better opportunities like jobs. however when they got their it was not what they were expecting. in the text it states '' unfortunately there was not enough works for all migrants ''. This evidence demonstrates how when the migrants moved to California for jobs they did not get what they wanted they could not find jobs. overall the migrants wanted to move to California for a better opportunity but when they got there it was not what they were expecting.

The author uses that phrase "The Promised land" to describe California because migrants went there to find a job and get money but they didn't get what they came for and made their lifes more miserable. In the text it states "They came in droves, eager to find the good life that had escaped them back home." People began to come to California so that they can have a better life and to get money. Even though they thought that California was the best place for them but they encounter some problems. I the text it states "Unfortunately, there was not enough works for all migrants. Those who found work were often disappointed: workers were offered flimsy shacks to rent." Most of the job are already taken so must of the and most migrants came for nothing, migrants that had work didn't get what they expected and was getting paid hardly enough money to satisfy them and were living in broken down homes. This is what the phrase revealed about the migrant hope and problems.

In the text it states that" They came in droves, eager to find the good life that had escaped them back home." This shows how because they are different they dislike the migrants who is looking for a better life. This is how Hopes and Problems reaveal about the promise land.

The Author uses the phrase "The Promised Land" to reveal the problems and hopes of the migrants by stating that California is a place with many opportunities and a good life. The text states, " Eager to find the good life that had escaped them back home." Back home they had many problems they wished to escape such as having money and getting jobs and it seems that California is that place. Yet the irony comes in place and California becomes a place that is terrible and doesn't have not enough work for all the migrants, farms taken by corporations and flimsy shacks. The text states " there was not enough work for the migrants. Many of the smaller farms had been taken over by giant corporations."

The phrase "The Promised Land" reveals the problems and hopes of the migrants because it being called "Promised Land", the migrants had alot to expect while moving to these states for better farming. In the text it states "many banks had failed, and millions of people found themselves enduring poverty". This shows how the migrants were struggling and were in poverty and famine. It also states the text, "Dust Bowl survivors recount stories of hardship, frustration, and inner strength". This shows the many problems that migrants had and what they had hoped for. That is what the phrase reveals.

The historical account states " Mild in climate and good growing, California appeared as the Promised Land." This evidence explains how the migrants went to California to get a job only to find out there wasn't enough for all of them.

The author’s use of the phrase ‘The Promised Land” reveals the expectations the migrants had moving to California and the reality of what the found once they arrived there. The migrants hoped for a good life and the climate conducive to growing food. The text states, “ the migrants who journeyed to California.....came in droves to find the good life that had escaped them back home.” This evidence demonstrates the expectation of the migrants to find an easier life in California; leaving being the challenges of their home land. However, the migrant’s expectations were thwarted when they arrived; finding little work, farms taken over by large corporations and flimsy housing which they had to pay for with the menial wages they earned. The text states, “ Unfortunately, there was not enough work for all migrants.” This evidence shows the contrast in the expectations of the migrants versus the reality of what they found in the “Promised Land” of California.

The author uses the phrase "The Promised Land" to reveal the hope and problems of California. The phrase was used because they thought to California as a place were they would get there jobs and be happy but what they received was not at all what they thought. In the text it states "These people become migrants, loading up their cars or trucks and fleeing Oklahoma, Texas, and Arizona for California, having heard that there were crops to be picked and cash money to be made." This show's why they thought of California as "The Promised Land" and there hope of work. The text goes onto state "In 1935, Collins and his young family migrated to California in search of work. . . . It was not a way to get rich, but it was a way to survive the lean years of the depression." This show's some of there bad times because they went there for a job to survive and become rich but got a minimum wage job that should just let then survive but not how they wanted to. Overall, this is how the phrase describes California and how it reveals there hope and problems of what they received.
