Classroom management by Emma https://padlet.com/emmamayroche/cmby9cqt5psq Efficient management of the classroom environment allows for formal learning to be structured. Over the course of my internship I noticed a number of strategies employed to assist with classroom management. These strategies included the structure of the classroom as each student in the class had wall dividers surrounding their desk which allowed students to concentrate on their work without being distracted. Students also had a card stuck on their desk with clearly displays what reward they are working for this helps to keep students motivated. There are a variety of rewards within easy access of the classroom such as a go kart, a sand pit and a play area. The occupational therapy room allows for students to have movement breaks. The sensory room allows students to be sensory stimulated. The time out room and the weighted jacket help to calm students when they become frustrated. The picture timetable allows for students to be aware of the plan for their school day. This is particularly important for students with Autism as they like to have a routine to follow. The reward chart helps to motivate students to have good behaviour in the classroom. I applied my knowledge of classroom management by using the resources available in the learning space. I created a learning resource which has a flower on one side and a candle on the other the resource helps students to focus on their breathing. As students can sometimes can find it hard to stay calm particularly if they become frustrated by something.
