over the course of quarantine there have been many online challenges, one of those being the "until tomorrow" challenge. the "until tomorrow" challenge consisted of posting an old or embarrassing picture of yourself and keeping it up until tomorrow.

Kevin Bacon states he is willing to play Joe Exotic in a 'Tiger King' movie. i added this to lighten the mood, and not have everything in my padlet be about the virus, but also miscellaneous things that i will be able to look back on later and think about.

something quarantine has taught me is to always be grateful for what you have. being the only people in my family who are quarantined outside of Venezuela, I have learned to not take things for granted. in Venezuela, there are often power outages, there is very little to no supply of gas, water service is rationed, and food is very scarce. whereas, in the US we can go get food whenever we need, water services are very reliable, and power outages are very rare. being quarantined in the US and seeing my family being quarantined in Venezuela has made me realize that although the situation is not ideal, I am grateful for the circumstances I am in. however, on both sides of my family we have group-chats where we can all communicate daily, i have a new baby cousin who we get pictures from. recently, we've all been looking at and sending old pictures, too. here's one with my aunt from my first communion in 2015.

the other day, i was bored and i asked a few friends of mine to send me videos saying different things, which in the end, the whole video combined said "oh, oh, oh, oh riley, auto parts."

the US' economy has begun to shrink as Corona Virus worsens. i think that this could lead to the economy crucially worsening after this whole mess is over. millions of people in the US have filed for unemployment, therefore not many have money to be able to support the economy.

recently, i began watching the show "All American." it was a very good show that displayed many themes throughout. as i watched the show it brought me many tears and laughs. overall, a very motivational show.

i asked my dad, "what would you tell yourself 2 weeks ago?" in which he replied to by saying that he would tell himself to “plan ahead, fix your car tires, confiscate my son's soccer ball (lol), try to run not pushing your feet so deep into the ground to avoid back pain."

i asked my mom, "what made today special?" she replied by saying, "i had a hiccup in my computer settings and you were very proactive and looked for a solution without even asking me you to, and that made me very happy."

i asked my brother, "what were your first reactions to hearing about COVID19? did you think adults were over-reacting? underreacting?" he replied with, "i thought people were overreacting because i didn't think it would spread to the US. i thought it would stay in China and Europe. i thought my life would stay normal, but it didn't."

in my neighborhood, many things have closed but have also began to reopen, with restrictions, of course. for example, the other day my brother and i went to Starbucks, but there were indicators on the floor as to where you should stand along with indicators where you wait for your order to be handed to you. you were not allowed inside if you did not have a mask on. many restaurants in my area remain closed, however they are open for takeout and delivery. also, the mall is still closed but the restaurants are open for curbside pickup and delivery. nail, hair, and other beauty related services are still closed. my nail technician has been shipping and delivering nail removal kits to those who are desperate to remove acrylic, gel, or dip powder nails. along with extra nail polishes, at an extra charge. i think it is a great idea considering they are not earning money through doing their clients' nails, they are still gaining some sort of income.

over this quarantine, spending 7 weeks without seeing my best friends has not been the easiest task. in effect, my parents decided that it was time we begin to live somewhat more normal lives. obviously, nothing will be completely normal for a while, or who knows if it will ever be completely normal. our standards of what normal is, may change forever. after 7 weeks, i was finally allowed to have my first human interaction outside of my family. i can tell you, that it was probably one of the most exciting things. who would have thought March 13th would have been the last time i saw my best friends for 7 weeks. this past weekend i saw Riley, we had both been quarantined for the past few weeks, so we thought it was appropriate. we had a very adventurous weekend, staying home, of course. we made cookies, went around the neighborhood in the golf cart, watched movies, did her sister's makeup, and went in the pool. overall, it was a fun stay at home weekend, lol.

this weekend while my mom and i were out picking up food for takeout, as we approached the last window where they hand you your food, her car ran out of gas. luckily, it shut off but she got it back on and it just rolled down a little hill and she steered it into a parking space. we had to call for someone to bring us gas so we could go to the nearest gas station and fill her tank. here's a picture of my mom and i in the car after about an hour lol. (please excuse our appearances, we were tired and ready to go home hehe)

last week, a close friend of my brother was riding his bike when a car hit him. luckily, he was with his younger brother who remembered the license plate of the car who hit the boy and ran. he was in critical condition in the hospital for 2 days before he died. people were standing outside of the hospital sending him prayers, but unfortunately he didn't make it. my heart goes out to his family and other friends.
