Being conscious of oneself; self-reflecting, helps create awareness of where we need to draw our boundaries and how to better ourselves at our profession. This in return helps us focus on areas that we can better ourselves and help deliver optimal results.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The counseling profession can cause a great deal of burnout. Having to mostly be on the giving end of the stick it can often get frustrating and mind boggling to see how you are utilized as a resource without any gratuity. &nbsp;Their professional identity is not validated, rather many a times they are used as fillers in the education sector. Not being able to manage the stress load and the feeling of being unheard, many counselors choose to leave the profession as they feel unwanted.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Self Care Strategy</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Utilizing days off to unplug and focus on rejuvenation are essential to the profession. <br>Resting and unplugging is a key self-care strategy for myself. Not worrying about what is happening at work and using the time away to care for my body by doing what I enjoy such as massages, facials, retail therapy can help you press that reset button for yourself.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>A strategy that I can use daily is to incorporate healthy habits such as getting in 10 minutes of fresh air during a break at work, regular low impact exercise such as yoga, walking or even light weights can help me strengthen my mind and body.</p>]]></description>
