An environment is the natural  world surroundings where a person, animal or plant lives. Humans are the main cause of pollution in our environment, but sometimes pollution can occur naturally. There are three different kinds of pollution that effect the environment, air, water and land pollution. We can define pollution as harmful chemicals, waste, or other harmful substances that can spread and dirty the natural environment. Trash often gets dumped in the ocean or on land which not only harms the environment but the animals that live in it. Sometimes animals will eat the trash or get tangled in it which can lead to their deaths. Air pollution is just as bad, because the more humans pollute the air from gas and chemical waste the more the Ozone layer, or the thin layer that protects us from the sun's heat, is destroyed. If humans are unable to make a change in lifestyle, the earth could lose many natural resources, or minerals, air, water, forests, and fertile land that can be used by both humans and animals.
