         <title>Thoughts on CNN Video</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>5% of Americans have mental problems<br>Edie had severe depression, but did not know it because it was not a thing that was diagnosed.<br>Did not smile, even cut her wrists(with razor).<br>Tried drugs, but did not help.<br>Several suicide attempts. <br>2 electrodes and a battery were what fixed her. <br>Area 25 is were the electrodes are. The battery is next to her collarbone.<br>Area 25 is overactive in depressed  people. Area 25 is "struck" in overdrive.<br>Deep Brain Simulation is the name of the surgery. Normally for patients who' movement was impaired. Edie was one of the first  to try the surgery.<br>Can't be happy. Feel nothing.<br><br>Head mounted in a heavy frame. <br>Lightly sedated, then 2 holes are drilled to put the electrodes in.<br><br><br>Gray matter makes noise.<br>White matter doesn't make noise.<br><br>Risks:<br>   Brain Damage<br>   Infection<br>   Death<br>  <br>She had no second thoughts      because she could no longer   stand it.<br><br>She thought about her niece and was happy for the first time. <br><br>They don't know why it works or why it does not work. It works on some, and it does not work on others.<br><br>One one thousandth of the power of the power of a flashlight.</div>]]></description>
