On 7 March 1936, German troops under orders from Hitler crossed into the Rhineland and remilitarised it. Hitler used the Franco-Soviet Alliance as an excuse saying that Germany was under threat and should be allowed to defend its own borders.</div>]]></description>

Initialy, Czech leader Edward Beneš was willing to fight.
