In this interview, Gray, who was later promoted to battalion chief, describes working the 12-hour night shift at the Pentagon.

1. He woke up and turned on the TV to see the hole in the World Trade Center, so he called his sister to tell her, and they questioned if their other sister, Betty Ong, was on one of the flights.

2. He didn't know where his sister was, so he left a voicemail on her phone asking her to tell him when she landed. After not getting a response, he called American Airlines, only to learn that she was in fact on that flight.

1. After hearing a big bang and then a huge explosion, he initially thought it was a broken window but soon realized the building was collapsing. He ran to the opposite side of his hotel room, believing it might be his last moments, and encountered a fireman who guided him to the fire stairs.

2. He used an I-beam from the South Tower to escape to the second floor. Shortly after, he was buried under rubble again when the North Tower collapsed, but he survived the second collapse as well.

• She and other people were rescued by Pablo Ortiz. The doors were stuck and luckily he made it in time to help them. Water was coming down from the building.

• He saw regular people like him coming down, others coming down from the other floor, badly burned carried down, or walking, and then the security personnel and fire department who were exhausted but while they walked down to live they would go up "to their death".

• While trying to find a mask, she saw what she described as a tornado going towards her. She told the captain to run and they all took off.

1. Robert Gray was serving as a captain on the technical rescue team and had just heard that a plane flew into the trade center. When Robert Gray got there all he was doing was thinking, thinking that someone had to intentionally do this. He thought "This is just feels so evil."

2. Around 1:00 in the towers Robert's job was to find survivors but it was obvious that there were no survivors on any floor. He described each floor to be either pristine, around a room that hadn't been touched but round complete destruction, and a room where not even a light layer of smoke on the walls.

1. Frank Razzano was staying at his Marriot hotel when he heard a sudden big bang. What he saw outside was papers fluttering on to the ground. He thought it was just the wind that blew out a window pane. But Frank thought wrong. As soon as he turned around and got into his bed the next thing he heard was a huge explosion. His building shook as an earthquake had just hit.

2. On each floor there were people evacuating and some people stuck. Frank went with a fireman on the 19th floor and had to get out on their own. He went down an I-beam to the 2nd floor. And before he knows it, he hears a freight train coming out of the sky which turned out to be the North Tower coming down. Eventually they got stuck under even more rubble and all Frank could think about was how he couldn't survive this twice. Although rubble stopped piling for a while and was still alive.
