This training program will be to train front desk agents on how to be the best employees for Delta Marriott. Delta Marriott Waterfront is one of the top notch hotels in the city of Virginia Beach. The first couple of weeks consist of an online training learning the Lightspeed system that we use to check the guests in, overall information on our company, etc. After the online training is complete, you will be put into training hour shifts to shadow an experienced employee until comfortable to perform the task on your own. Once the training journey is complete, you are able to have your set schedule shift that you will be consistently working as an agent.

New and Improved Training Program

For the new and improved training program, the idea I have is similar to everything stated in what I experienced. The only thing that I would change is that instead of waiting to complete the online training, there should be shadowing in between. For example, the employee works Monday-Thursday, therefore two days of online training and two days of shadowing. The shadowing training shouldn’t be more then 4 weeks, I believe that it should be about 2 weeks and then the employee should atleast attempt to start tasks on their own and see how they do so that they know what they still need to work on.

Front Desk Agents will be complete in this training at the Delta Marriott Waterfront Hotel for 4-6 weeks. Agents will just need their two forms of identification and a notebook. It will be evaluated by the Front Desk Management team and also the trainees on board for the employees training shifts.
