-Whole group instruction to teach goals based on pacing
 guide, writing goals, vocabulary and language. 
-Read aloud that models fluency and strategies for thinking
-writing practice so students apply goal
-read to self and others to practice goals
-literacy based centers
-6 minutes to fluency

3. Connecting the standard to the text being taught by practicing together, in groups and independently.
