For this podcast, I am going to be doing Motivational Music. People choose music to listen to by something they like and a specific theme they'd like to experience.
For my playlist, I am going to use "Taking a Stand" by Henry Jackman, and "Autobots Reunite" by Steve Jablonsky. Those two pieces fit that category because every time I listen to them, the songs make me feel important and motivated to do something. The tone, instruments, and pace do that for me.
The emotions that the composers were trying to convey were standing up for what you believe in and reuniting with others.

The piece I am playing is by Richard Strauss, originally called, "Also Stuck Zarathustra."
What informed me to play that piece was the fact that Mr.Chidsey and I had the idea of doing that, and it just worked out.
The musical elements that captured my attention was the electric instruments playing the melody. That was pretty cool.

I am going to play synth notes for the melody, simulating a "Lost In Space" feeling.
I got the idea for this by playing a song from "2001, A Space Odyssey."
My motivation came from when I played a form of that theme with my teacher Mr.Chidsey.

My three new songs for my motivational music playlist are, "The Avengers Theme Song" by Alan Silvestri, "Binary Sunset" by John Williams, and "Why do we fall?" from the Dark Knight Rises soundtrack, by Hans Zimmer. These songs fit the motivational category because they all inspire the listener to make a change. The Avengers theme song shows the power of teamwork. Binary Sunset plays when Luke stares into the sunset, contemplating on his journey, influencing him to do good. And the Why Do We Fall song plays when Batman rises up from the ashes, faces his fears, and climbs out of a pit with a broken back. Those all show what you can accomplish if you believe in yourself. We know what the musician was trying to express because of the placement of the songs in the movies and how they sound.

The musical element that would represent the first song in my playlist (Taking A Stand) would be the Sound category. That would be because the piece starts out soft, gets louder, then soft again. Also, the transitions are very well done and flow perfectly with the flow of the song.
For the second song in the playlist (Autobots Reunite), the category that would fit that song the most would be Rhythm. That is because the piece follows the same beat throughout the piece, but also even in the end of the piece. It is hard to notice, but once you catch it, you cannot forget it is there. It is a constant.
For the third song on the playlist (The Avengers Theme Song), the category that would fit that song is Melody. That is most fitting because it smoothly transitions from section to section, keeping the same theme.
For the fourth song on the playlist (Binary Sunset), the category fitting that would be Harmony. That is because is very smooth in tone and modulates in parts of the piece. It is a very beautiful song.
And for the fifth song on the playlist (Why do we fall), the category that would be most fitting would be Growth. That is because many sections in the song are repeated throughout the piece, and sometimes, it changes pace. As the pace changes, the pattern of notes is the same, just faster.
