History is important:
- It is important because it allows us to see how the world had shaped over the years. 
- Students would be able to learn from the mistakes that our former generations had made, therefore being able to help their own generation.
- It is the record of a country and it's traditions With history lessons, traditions would be preserved and passed onto other generations. Thus, historical figures reffered to in a history class could inspire youngsters to pursuit their paths and do great things.
Why is it not as important?
- History doesn't offer much job opportunities. On the contrary, subjects such as math and science allows students to choose from a wider range of jobs.
- It is won't remain in people's heads as long as other knowledge. History is too wide, without recalling them ocasionally, forgetting it is rather easy. In other words, spending time studying something that students would forget anyway is unnecessary.
