She had degrees in all types of topics even one in astronomy. She told me she got a degree in everything she liked so she can have any job she wanted. That i don't have to limit myself to one career path. I followed suit by starting off as a chef and leave the culinary industry to teach history. And now I'm working on my history degree, just because I like it.


My school now gives me full autonomy to express myself and my personality with my students. Now I get to show how and tell my students they be themselves and love the things they love with pride just like my 6th grade ELA teacher did.
