Motion drawing is a type of media that captures the movement or action of a certain object in a quick gesture. Captured in the motion drawing is the wind passing through the trees and creating a loud rustling sound. The wind disrupts the trees branches as well as the rested leaves on the ground. Line art is using the concept of lines to create a visual image, either using multiple strokes or a single continuous line. I wanted to capture the detail of a leaf by using the style of one-line drawing. I was inspired by my style inspiration artist, Octavia Tomyn who is known for her one-line drawing art. I am inspired by the aesthetic of watercolour painting as it can be abstract pieces of art that explore how to express emotion without replicating what is viewed originally. The images don't have to be precise in detail to be visually known as the certain object. Hence, why I am inspired with the concept of watercolour paintings as it takes away the structure, sharpness and definition of the image and creates different visuals. As a visual communications designer, I wanted to think outside the box and experiment with new ways of visual imagery. The map displayed in the background of the image is of Peregian Beach Village on the Sunshine Coast Queensland, which has been known to myself as my home and the place I have learnt and grown amongst for years. I believe that what you learn amongst your environment is a big impact to how you are as a person and how you perceive the world. Peregian beach is a calm environment filled with friendly locals who take each day at a time and who keep open-minded. As a visual communications designer I believe that I take each step at a time in the design process slowly but surely, so I can create an impactful design idea that creates a positive outcome for audiences. The colours used in the self-map were also the same colour palette from activity 10, yellow, green, brown, and blue. All these colours symbolise the creativity, dedication, reliability, growth, and trust I have in myself as a person and in my work as a designer. I am a growing individual who is learning each day how I can be the best designer I can possibly be. My home is my learning space and is growing with new citizens and opportunities.
