I thought that Pax by Sara Pennypacker had a really sad ending!!!!!! I think that Vola had a big impact on Peter. One of the ways that that she had an impact on Peter was that, at the end Peter said to Pax that the porch door would always be open. In the middle of the book Vola said that the porch door would always be open. It is also a circular ending, because at the begining of the book Peter threw the toy solgeir to get Pax to go away. At the end of the book Peter threw the toy to get Pax to go back in to the wild with the other foxes. Peter went all of that way and took all of that time to just let Pax stay in the wild. It was so sad. I aso noticed that there were a lot of times with parallelism. One time that had parallelism was when Gray took in Pax and Vola took in Peter. Another way that showed parallelism was when Brisle tought Pax to hunt and when Vola tought Peter to use the pupets. One more way is when Vola took Peter in and when Gray took Pax in. I thought that it was crazy that Peter fought off the cyotes when the were trying to get to Pax and Bristle. I also think that it was so cool that Runt let Peter touch him for a minute. I also think that it was so weird that Peter wanted Pax to go into the wild. He wanted to get Pax back but he let him go.

I enjoyed the story Pax by Sara Pennypacker because of a certain amount of reasons. One way was that I liked the parallel story. Each chapter to me was unique because of how Sara Pennypacker put Peter and Pax together and related for each chapter. I think the author put that in there because of their relationship together and how they cannot be seperated. One way in the story was when Peter first got help from Vola, it was like Pax getting help from Bristole. Both got strong relationship and when they finally met each other, Pax's relationship was too strong so it ended up as a ok ending.

Wow, I thought the ending was outstanding. The parallelism was crazy good. Going from Vola telling Peter that the door on the porch is always open to Peter telling Pax that the porch door is always open. I thought this book was one of the best books ever. I felt so connected to the book in many ways. The book having so many questions makes the book better and is making the reader think a lot more. There were so many great characters going from Gray to Bristle to Runt. I thought that every event that happened in the book made me one step closer to loving this book. I thought that Sarah Pennypacker did a great job at using symbolism. It was cool how the Phoenix really connected to Vola and how she had experienced what the Phoenix does a lot of the time. The book Pax by Sarah Pennypacker brought a lot to the table. I don't know any other book that is any better than this book.

#Bestbookever

Wow, just wow. This book has been an amazing journey that has taken me on so many different adventures. It has been very emotional this whole time and the ending just totally blew me away. The book PAX By Sara Pennypacker will be a book that I never forget. There were so many things she did that just made this book absolutely amazing. There were so many parallels in there journeys that I think really connected them the whole time. From them both finding a figure whom they really rely on to the end where they are both told the porch door is always open. There are also some major questions in here that can change how you see many things, and really add more to the story. Including, what is peace? What does it mean to really find your special place of peace, and what does peace really mean. Another great one was if there is a wild side in you is that always going to be there or is that something that could change over time. I am still really in shock from the ending of the book. It was so emotional and I am still trying to process everything in my mind. The ending was a very big mile marker when I think Peter may find that peace with letting Pax go. he realizes that Pax belongs in the wild and he sees that letting him stay is whats best for him. Although I am very, very sad about this ending I respect that the author put it in the story because in that moment you see that Peter has changed so much and come to where he is supposed to be. But seriously, the ending made me cry. I am planning to rewrite the ending and make it much more happy. No, really though I respect the way the author wrote it. She did it in a sad way, but also a way that leaves you happy for both and wondering what the rest of their journey will look like. I could honestly write so much more but we are out of time.

Vola's symbol was I think the bird or the Phoenix . Also Pax symbolizes peace . I think Sara .P added the circular ending because the begining when Peter threw the toy solider that was because his father made him , but at the end Peter wanted Pax to live in the woods with Brisoce and Runt . Why do you think she added symbolism to Pax? I think because she wanted this book to have a meaning in someones heart . At the end Peter saw Pax got bitten by a coyote. He's confident to fight for Pax. Peter's father kinda lets all the anger on Peter . I loved Pax Its the best book ever!! :)#BestBookEver

I really liked Pax by Sara Pennypacker and this book was really good with symbolism. l think the best symbol in this book is the little toy soldier. The fact that Peter would still hope that Pax had still kept it made their connection even more pronounced. Even how Peter had thrown the soldier creating the circular ending was kind of a symbol in it's way. The other really big symbol in this book is peace and what is peace, especially with Vola. (we did a project in class about this) I think the way Vola describes peace is pretty interesting as well. This made me wonder what Peter's father would think about peace. Mostly since he seems like such an aggressive person from the way the book describes him. The one thing I didn't love about this book was that Francois was never really mentioned more than once because I love that name for a raccoon! :)
#BestBookEver

I love the book Pax, it was so amazing. Sara Pennypacker added so many questions into the book. The tame verses wild parts she added into the book really made the book so interesting. It made me wonder about the true meaning of wild or tame that does not come from the dictionary. Peter is such a good person to ask those questions and I loved him as a character. Vola was so great at pushing Peter to figure out things about himself just as she had done all those years ago. I loved that eventually Peter turned from student to teacher and making Vola get out and around. I love the question of peace. What is it? I personally decided that peace is different for everyone and that Peter's was just knowing that Pax was okay. The end was so amazing. The circular ending was just perfect. From the moment I met Bristle and Runt I loved them so I was happy that Peter realized he had to leave Pax even though it made me cry. The very last sentence that apples sometimes roll very far from the tree is a question that can not be answered in one way. It was so odd that the whole book Peter is questioning himself yet at the end he says that he knows that he is different from others and that he was himself. He asks so many impossible questions and at the end he finally is at HIS peace with himself. I love that Peter is unrecognizable to Pax at the end it shows how much Vola has done for him and the journey has done for him. I love that Peter was able to help two beings figure out what they needed to do. He helped Vola realize that she needed to become tame and helped Pax know that he needed to be wild. This is such a great book and it has so many connections and I could keep writing forever, but we only have a class period. I love that Peter threw the soldier and let Pax know that Pax cared every time he looked at it. I ran out of time but this book was #awesome.

I love the book Pax by Sara Pennypacker. There were many symbols in this story. My favorite that kept coming up was the phoenix, this had a connection to almost everyone in this story. It connected with Vola the most because she has to find herself again so it seems like she is rising from the ashes. Another symbol will be the bat. This symbol represents something that happened to Peter's mom and left. The toy soldier is an example of parallelism because at the start of this book he threw the toy while being really sad and at the end he threw the toy in a more happy way. Pax would also be an example for the phoenix because he had a life with Peter and gets to almost restart his life by living in the wild. I love the question about if something is wild or tame because everyone thinks of it differently. For example someone might think war is wild and some people might think animals are wild. I don't understand this because to me being wild is being somewhere else from where you are normally. He also redeemed his guilt about the rabbit and the coyote. He saved Pax and Bristle from the coyote. He brought back his mom and now she has forgiving him I would like to think.

#bestbookever

I loved the book Pax! When Pax and Peter were first separated, it held a lot of suspense because it was from Pax's point of view, and you didn't know much about him. Also, Peter was crying so it made you wonder how much Pax meant to him. Vola was one of my favorite characters because she was spunky and unpredictable. There was a lot of symbolism, too. Peter's mom's bracelet meant a lot to Peter because she wore it all the time. He liked the idea of the Phoenix starting over, and I think that is what Vola's life was like, she had to start over after the war. The book ended at a cliffhanger. I wonder, did Peter leave Pax? How did Peter get home? Did Peter bring home Pax, Bristle, and Runt because they are inseparable I think Sara Pennypacker did a good job writing this book and I hope she writes more!

This book was amazing. I loved the characters, the story, the setting I just love it so much! The ending made me tear up. The circular ending where he throws the toy was amazing but also one of if not the saddest ending I've ever heard. :'(. I liked the symbolism though. The on that kept showing most often though was the phoenix. This symbolism mostly relates to Vola because like the phoenix she is trying to remake herself to be who she once was. I also liked the parallel story telling aspect where when something would happen to Pax something would happen to Peter. Too put it shortly, Pax is one of the best books I have ever heard, but it is not for the faint of heart. It is a wonderful book and and I wish this author good luck. :)

I loved this book! I loved how Sarah Pennypacker described the setting in the book and what was happening. Like when Pax was running through the brush in the field. My favorite part was the end where Peter stood up to his dad when he found him where they had planted wires and where Peter found Runts leg. I also loved when Peter and Pax found each other but hated when Peter let Pax go to stay and protect Runt and Bristle. There is a lot of symbolism in this book and one symbol is the Phoenix. I think it represents Vola after the war because, After the war Vola didn't know who she was anymore. I think it sounds like her being reborn again and being a new person. There was a lot of parallelism during the book also. One was when Peter was at Vola's and she gave him advice. Pax also got advice but from Grey. I wish Sarah Pennypacker didn't end the story the way she did.

We read the book Pax by Sara Pennypacker . The book was sad. The end was circular with the begging. But it happened for different reasons. I can't tell what happened so I don't spoil it, though. The book symbolized many things. One of the main symbols was a phoenix. What it meant was that you can start over even if something is going bad. You could say you have been renewed. This happened with one of the main characters Vola. She went to war and had to kill someone. It made her feel like she could not be near other people. So Vola went to live in the wilderness. Peter, the main character, made Vola feel like she would do. good around other people. Another symbol was peace. The book talked about it a lot. The title, Pax, even means peace in Latin. There was another huge symbol. It was a toy solider. Pax, Peter's fox, always chased the solider when Peter threw it. You could say he was playing fetch with it. This had something to do with circular endings. In the end, Peter helped Pax fight off coyotes. This showed that Peter really loved Pax. This book was really sad, but it was very good. I liked it a lot.

I love how Sara Pennypacker included all of the amazing descriptions of what home is like to Peter and Pax, it pulled me in towards the story more and more throughout the book. When ever there was a description of what Peter or Pax were feeling or talking about the descriptions was always parallel. I thought that was cool because I like hearing the different perspectives.
Another thing that I would like to talk about in this book is that there were many symbols which lead to Peter finding Pax or just Pax finding life in the woods. One of the symbols that really was important throughout the book was the toy soldier. At the begging Peter through it out into the woods and at the end he through it out in to the woods. It was a circular ending!

Today we read the ending of Pax. I thought Pax was a really good book. I thought the circular ending of the book was clever. The end made me really sad. There were a lot of symbols in the book that meant something else. For example, a good one was the phoenix. It meant something about Vola. Like, she was ruined from the war, but she can rebuild like the phoenix.I loved it from Pax´s point of view because he only says what he knows. For instance, when he was talking about guns, he said ¨sticks¨ instead. I thought it was fun to figure out what he was talking about. The weirdest character in the book was definitely Vola. Aside from Peter´s dad, she was the most mysterious out of all of the characters. My favorite character in the book was Runt. He was jut so cute! I think Sara Pennypacker did a good job on this book for a couple of reasons. One was the action scenes. She made it go really slow and long and stretched-out so you were on the edge of your seat wondering what happens. The mysterious parts of the book also do. They come up so suddenly and you are surprised when they happen. All in all, I loved the book Pax. And I hope you did too:]

I loved the book PAX by Sara Pennypacker. This book was very detailed and sometimes sad. But, I think the most saddest part was the ending. In the ending, Peter let Pax go away! I would never chose to do this. But, I also think that this action was kind. This choice was kind because Peter cared about how Pax felt and let him go to his original home. Pax will probably end up living with Bristle and poor little Runt. My favorite part in this book was when Vola watched the puppet show that Peter made. Peter was supposed to tell the story about Sinbad and the Roc. But, instead Peter chose to show the story about Vola and how she can start from the beginning after killing the innocent soldier. I liked this because it shows to move on after mistakes or the past. My favorite character was definitely, Vola. Vola is so unique and is very funny! This is what I thought about this read aloud, PAX.

I like the book Pax because it didn't keep it in one perspective the whole book.. Another reason was because of the adventure. I would give this book a five star rating even though there was a lot of sad parts in the book but, every thing isn't always great or happy. My favorite part in the book was were peter Brisle and Pax fought off the coyotes my let favorite part was when peter let Pax go.

Wow, how do I start. Oh, I know this book is amazing and very emotional. At the beginning when Pax talked about Peter and Peter talked about Pax, I was perfectly fine until Peter was forced to chuck Paxes toy into the woods. Although, near the middle of the book Peter did decide he'd rather give up everything just to find Pax. Now that's were the tears start flowing. Anyways, like I said Peter would risk anything, and he did he literally broke his leg. Since he broke his leg his journey to Pax was postponed by a lot. On the other hand, Pax made a couple of good friends (who were foxes too) named Bristle and Runt. Oh, Peter made a companion on the way too, her name was Vola and he thought she was crazy in the beginning. Later on though he really started to believe in her. There was a lot of symbolism, some symbolism I noticed is the army soldier (Paxes toy) and even the phoenix. Sorry for all the spoilers about PAX but one last thing I have to say is, why are there so many circular endings and why was the ending so sad? Oh wait, that was two. I total an amazing book in all.

I loved the book PAX by Sarah Pennypacker. The book was a little sad, especially at the end, when Pax leads Peter to the den that Pax and Bristle were staying in. Peter helps Pax and Bristle fight off the coyotes that were attacking the den and Runt. Once the coyotes had fled, Peter lets Pax stay with Bristle and Runt. I liked in this book how Sarah Pennypacker made many parallels between Pax and Peter's journeys to find each other. For example: Peter and Pax both had someone help them Vola helps Peter and Runt and Bristle help Pax. The author also had lots of symbolism in this book. One example of symbolism was the phoenix. The phoenix symbolized rebirth. The book PAX by Sarah Pennypacker kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved PAX and I hope you do/will to!

I don't even know where to start because Pax was so amaxing. Sarah Pennypacker has created an amazing book that I could read a thousand times and I would still cry, smile, and laugh. This book has so many emotions to it. One minute your laughing and smiling, the next your crying or having tears in your eyes. I love this book so much. At the end of the book I think I almost cried. This book made me feel like I felt what Peter was going through. But obviously I didn't wound up in a crazy strangers house with a broken foot. The end of this book was so sad because Peter didn't get to take Pax home. Although I hated that he didn't to take Pax home, I thought it was amazing that Peter was willing to put Pax's wants over his. I would never be able to just give away my dog like that. At the end of the book, Peter said he would always leave the porch door open. I really hope that this means Pax will visit and maybe Bristle and Runt will come with him. Sarah added so much suspense to this book. I love how at every chapter you wanted to continue there story. I really liked how the story went back and forth between Pax and Peter. I thought that Peter letting Pax be happy was more corageous and sacrificing than sad. Peter is a great character and I would like to thank Sarah Pennypacker for making such a great book that is so easy to enjoy

I like how both Peter and Pax had someone to care for them Pax with runt and Peter with Vola. This book was very emotional and I like a bit of emotion in my book's. I would read this book so many times and never get sick of it, it is that good. I like how the book had a curricular ending with Peter throwing the toy solder in the brush but each time for a different reason. I loved Pax and I think Mrs.Mueller should read it to the next fifth graders.

I loved the book Pax! I thought it was super good! I loved how much description the author put into the book! I feel like Peter and Pax both found loyal friends on there journeys. Peter found Vola who helped him get stronger on his crutches and was nice to him. Pax found Bristle and Runt who helped him get use to wild fox life. I think the minefield was an again and again moment and that maybe it was symbolizing that war destroys everything in it's path. I liked the note on the last page that said something like, apples can fall far from the tree. I think that that shows that Peter can break the cycle and be different from his dad and grandpa. I feel like Peter found himself, and became a stronger person on his journey. That is what I thought of the book Pax.

This book was really touching on how Peter and Pax both take 2 journeys to find one another. They take a journey in their mind, and in the world. Another thing that really touched me was how Peter let Pax stay with Runt and Bristle. it tought me that you move on in life, and that you can always find something new. Overall, the book Pax was super awesome. Thanks to Sara Pennypacker

This book was amazing! It touched my my heart. This book showed true love and companionship. Peter and Pax both went on very long journeys to find each other. Neither one of them gave up. They were determined to find each other. One of my favorite characters was Vola. I loved how she helped Peter but also had a bit of an attitude. Vola and Peter had this special connection. They both taught each other things they never knew. They were family to each other. Bristle and Runt didn't like Pax that much at the beginning because he loved humans. But soon they began to become loyal friends. They protected each other. Taught each other. Became family, just like Vola and Peter. The ending made me cry though. Peter realized that Pax liked the wilderness. Pax wanted to stay where he should be. Peter and Pax said goodbye. They knew in their hearts, they would always be family.
