April 27th, 1994: Born Youngest Child (On both sides of my family for this generation)

I was born, April 27th, 1994, at 2:31 pm, and I'm the youngest cousin on both my mom's side and my dad's side. My birthday generally revolves around the holiday of Easter. My mother's birthday alternates for coinciding with Thanksgiving. And my father's birthday is actually on the Ides of March. I'm actually creating this slide on my 31st birthday.

April 27th, 2007: Parents Separated

Ironically, my parents separated on my birthday, 13 years later. It was very...messy, traumatizing, and the resultant issues have caused me a lot of financial and emotional issues later on in my life. My mom got full custody and the house and she had to go back to college to get a professional certificate to support me and my sister. (sidenote: in my parents wedding photo, my dad looks EXACTLY like Kip here: Hair color/style, skinny, pasty white guy, toothbrush mustache, blue eyes and big glasses like that-and similar shirts).

September, 2013: Moved to Central California with my Best Friend and Sister.

My best friend from high school got into Stanford University and took a year off to intern at the FDA and couldn't stay on campus/use their housing, so she asked me if I wanted to move there to get job experience and split the rent. I immediately said yes and cajoled my sister to come with us, as our town did not have many job opportunities. I lived, worked, and got back into college in the 5 years I lived in East Palo Alto, California.

November, 2018: Moved to Arizona by Myself. Achieved full independence (finally)

To clarify, I mailed all my belongings from California to my new apartment in Mesa, Arizona. My friend moved in with her boyfriend, and it was just my sister and I living in California by ourselves, and we did not have a good relationship. I had saved enough from my multiple jobs and did not want to return home to Washington state, so I picked the next state over to assert my independence.

April 16th, 2019: Began my first job in Mental/Behavioral Health.

I always wanted to get experience/work in mental health, and my degree is in Psychology. I always had the impression you need a degree or professional degree or degree to work in that field so I never even applied. The pandemic just hit, I was let go from my daycare position in Arizona and filed for unemployment. The amount they paid we was not even enough to pay for rent, my savings were becoming low so I applied to mental and behavioral health jobs in the area-as they can't shut down for anything.

January 26th, 2022

On this day, my mother, sister, and I moved me (in my sister's car) from Mesa, Arizona, back to Longview, Washington. About two weeks later, I got my other behavioral health job at LifeWorks Inc., working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and Autism. I miss my team, and it's something especially when your whole team looks out for each other and you all get along, which we did in spades.

Late August 2023: Met my Fiancé/Got Engaged.

After many, many attempts at in-person, through friends, online relationships, I went onto an international dating site. Out of the many men I have met and/or talked to, my fiancé reached out to me and asked what I expected in a partner. I'm one of the only people who give thorough explanations and profiles, and I gave him a very long response. His response was 'That's good 'cause I want to marry you'. Ye-ah, it was a very long journey of 'Are you for real, man?!', blocking, talking, and physically meeting in November of 2024(so yes, he is absolutely real and not a scammer online). It's a little more culturally/contextually/ personally stressful when people learn that he's 1) Turkish, 2) Muslim and 3) and Indian citizen that has roots and a profitable business in India.

September 26th, 2024: Moved onto Campus to FINALLY complete my degree

When my parents split, it had to do with a whole bunch of financial stuff. Bottom line is, if I wanted to go to college, I need to find the money to do so by myself. So, at the end of last year, I finally accrued enough credits to meet Senior status for my BA in Psychology-AFTER 12 YEARS. Yeah. So if all goes well, I should be able to complete my bachelors by the end of 2025- my 13th year working on this degree.
