Bad mark means for them punishment, sometimes a fair jugement. On the other hand, good mark is something they are really proud of, very important for them and many of them study hard to achieve it. In our lower level classes we usually don't have notes but descriptive assessment. More time to teach... And more time at home and more time to find interesting materials for lessons. But there will be a group of students that would loose any interest in learning.
