         <title>EPortfolios and SEN</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Padlet Activity Module 2 Patricia</strong></div><div>E-portfolios are a great way of support children with SEN.&nbsp; E-Portfolios are one way to assess children in a different and unique way instead of the traditional ways.&nbsp; It allows you to keep an up-to-date record of progress for children with SEN.&nbsp; It contains copies of their work which can be communicated and used as evidence when speaking to appropriate people about a child and their needs. &nbsp;</div><div>Tasks and activities can be differentiated and adapted to meet the needs and expectations of children with SEN.&nbsp; It provides a mode to communicate regularly with the child providing valuable feedback and suggestions to improve their work.&nbsp; It is a highly motivating way for the children to complete tasks and activities and meet the objectives set out in a lesson.&nbsp; Answers can be developed by the child, leading to higher confidence and self-esteem as they get a sense of accomplishment once tasks and activities are completed.&nbsp; Work can be published, leading to more self-worth by the children.</div><div>Other skills can be developed such as IT skills, problem-solving skills, communicating, reading and writing.&nbsp; Children’s skills improve as the year progresses.&nbsp; Children are more like to improving their reading, redrafting, editing and communication skills.</div><div>EPortfolios can suit children with fine motor skills, reading and writing skills, improving each of the skills they may lack.&nbsp;</div><div>Work can be shared with others-peers, staff members and also with the home, improving home and school links. &nbsp;</div><div>Children with SEN can access this material in a number of places.</div><div>This software is free and easy to use. &nbsp;</div><div>Children with SEN can assess their own work and show areas of improvement gradually.&nbsp; It is a different way to communicate than the traditional ways of pen and paper, thus, children are immediately getting involved in the task.&nbsp; Children with SEN can display talents which may not come across in the traditional ways of completing and presenting their work.&nbsp; It also provides opportunities for the shy, struggling child to ask for help if needed in a safe and unprovocative way. &nbsp;</div><div>It is a reflective practice which has proved to be very beneficial for children with SEN.</div>]]></description>
