         <title>Personal Journey</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>In my 20+ years, I have become very comfortable writing for any audience. This has helped me in my professional life as well. Generally speaking, I am more comfortable writing than I am speaking. I am usually confident when completing written assignments at PSU and completing written documents as a teacher.&nbsp;<br><br>That said, I am not perfect. Sometimes, I write without focus. My conclusions aren't always as strong as I would like them to be. Teachers always told me to read my writings aloud. I hadn't found the value in it until very recently.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Professional Journey</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We teach writing every day. I love our 5-3-1 writing in English class. I also love ending my Read 180 classes with a reflective writing. I think it sets a nice routine to class. It also gives me more insight into my students' lives because they are all writing about their own individual experiences.&nbsp;<br><br>The struggle I find is that my brain automatically goes to mechanical errors when reading a student's work. I have also looked at quantity versus quality of writing. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Contributions from Reading</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After we read the Graves article, I tried to have a few more conferences with my students. We looked at quality and specifics.&nbsp;Speaking of specifics, Fletcher also speaks of detail and that is something I am trying to encourage my students to. Fletcher spoke of sharing passion and being excited over new words. This is something I'm hoping to do with my students this week. We will be working on vocabulary and I'm hoping to outwardly show my excitement for these words and to model that curiosity for them.</div>]]></description>
