the way the body Armor around the chest is subtle but is still notable enough that it creates a nice segmented look for the rest of the suit and also the way it looks somewhat like real body armour/stab proof vests which helps with grounding this suit in the real world but also pays tribute to the comics in how it does not overwhelm the suit with Armor plating like in his other adaptations rather it blends into the rest of the body suit

this design of the over all suit would be great for our look of the suit except for the collars but i wanna mainly focus on the cape and neck piece the cape has a very nice distressed look to it with lots of jagged edges around the shoulders and sharp cuts the over all body of the cape which would tie in nicely to the visual story telling side of it cos i wanna imagine that the cape did not start out looking like this in beginning but over times has been cut torn and slashed at over the months of patrols he has been on i would very much like to have long jagged streaks/cuts of the cape making up that bat wing silhouette for the over all shape i would also like to incorporate the neck caller shown in the image the Robert Paterson batman suit also had a similar neck caller piece to it but i would like to use to shape of the one shown above for our version of it but perhaps size it down a little bit i think this would add a unique look to plus adding to the whole intimidating design philosophy I'm trying to go for but also have it based in functionality where it would help protect the neck

i was inspired by the year 100 batman design for making the under suit a dark grey fabric type body suit to wear under the protective Armor padding i like the idea that Bruce wants to be as agile and free to move as possible not wanting himself to be hindered by heavy Armor but Alfred forces him to incorporate light weight flexible stab proof/semi bullet proof Armor into his suit this will show that this batman is young naïve and reckless this was also something i pulled from batman earth one where the story follows a much more grounded version of batman in his early years in one part of it Alfred comments on Bruce's bat suit saying what he would do if some one shot him and how he should be wearing body Armor and Bruce asks do you know what body Armor says about a person and explains that it says that they need body Armor i think this would show where Bruce is in terms of mentality

as i stated in the under suit section i think something like this panel for the story perhaps in a flashback would really show Bruce's mentality going into the batman persona

this is a personal favourite for me when it comes to batman designs this look comes from the gargoyle of batman and it brings a very distinct different look for his suit i love how intimidating and aggressive it looks but i also love the practical elements that have been used here especially with the utility belt the various straps and buckles used for keeping the armour padding in place i think over all this is a little too advanced for what we can do and for what we are going for but there are allot of design elements that i would like to use including some of the design elements of the cowl

expanding on what i said at the end of the unique interpretation through design post i think rather than the actual look of the cowl shown up top id incorporate more smaller details to do with the neck and chin area you see with most live action cowls they are allot of the times very stiff rubber masks that is made of a rubbery latex material that envelope the face and limit head movement i wanted to avoid that problem and i tried to think logically on how i would want a mask to give me protection and movement but also be intimidating this is where i came to this design for ideas i want the cowl to be made of two separate bits one of them would be the hard shell that goes around the head giving protection to the brain but it cutting off at around the lower jaw and if you can see in the panel above from where this hard shell mask stops at around the jaw an almost cloth material of some sorts is under it and continues down into the neck this gives not only a unique look but it offers practicality to the mix as i can imagine this would mean you would be able to move your head allot more freely as apposed to the stiff tight latex material more commonly used as apposed to how the material in the panel above is high lighted in grey next to the black shell i would like our one to be more seamlessly blended in with the shell i would probably use maybe a flexible leather to attach to the shell or a black durable cloth material i also think that this way it will make the proportions of the cowl better cos it is very common to see in cosplays with rubber latex cowls that they make the head way to big for the body in how the cowl was made for the material but our way would mean that it would be allot more form fitting considering that the material would almost mould and sit on your face and neck rather than it being fixed in place

ears

on the subject of how long the ears should be i do prefer the longer/mid length sharp ears the image above shows a good idea of long and how sharp i want them to be i think the ears being on the more longer side gives the elusion that batman is taller than he is and the sharpness of them just adds to that aggressive almost violent design code I'm striving for in this suit

this concept design is also on theme of the general vibe that i am going for with it being very practical but also keeping allot of the design philosophy from the comics as well you can actually see a better view of the shell material hybrid cowl concept up at the top right that i discussed in the cowl inspiration post

i very much like how much this suit balances the comic book look of batman with the grounded tactical aesthetic and how it has subtle padded Armor that does not overwhelm the suit and i wanna incorporate the various straps that you can coming from the sides of his waist i also love how the cowl looks and would like ours to have the same type of look but with slightly larger ears

in the batman 0 year comic i really liked the suit they used for it and one thing id like to incorporate into our suit is the leather panels that run along his arms i think this would give the suit nice colour separation and make the suit pop a bit more and stop it from looking flat
